this is an interim change, it has been designed to look and feel as similar to the original inventory system as possible,
no database changes are being made, however items have now been split from the script, and mostly the design has been segregated from the code.
the new coding is also MUCH faster than the older version. there were 20k lines of code that had to be compiled each time the page was loaded. now it loads a fraction of that, and can operate much more smoothly and has much less drag on the system as a whole.
surely there must be something? well, yes! now the popup on the dogs page will work correctly, many item bugs were fixed, and soon I can start to proceed on the images (assets) database, which will let the artists get back to work.
the new system is designed in such a way that new equipment can be added easily.
All regular items except for bags have been re coded in the new system .
There are 80 bags left and about 2500 lines of code associated with them
After that, the only parts remaining relate to custom item creation. Sit tight, the is the final to overcome before I can start making more substantive changes (hopefully improvements) to alacrity!
