Kennels!

While we wait for artwork to be finished for our trial system, we're working on the kennel dynamics of the game! As you might have seen, if you've already created Kennels, there might be some images showing up that weren't there before. Don't worry! We're still working on this, and this is not the final state of the changes we're making! When we're finished, just the kennel images will show on your profiles and My Kennel pages, neat and tidy, and you can click these images to access your dogs! No more scrolling through a big, long list of canines, so you can have the organization we've always wanted everyone to have!

Things to expect:
*Unlimited kennels for both upgraded and non-upgraded users!

*$20k to create a kennel, and a $10k refund if you decide to destroy them for whatever reason!

*No more fees against you to destroy kennels!

*A new Kennel Store, where you can purchase different fences and decorations for your kennels! Fences and decorations will be single-use items, and they will appear on your kennel images.

*Dynamic day/night and seasonal changes! Your kennel images will automatically update depending on the season or time of day, for deeper game immersion! (Still a work in progress)

*Kennel benefits! Depending on the type of fencing you purchase, and the decorations you equip, all dogs within that kennel will become immune to certain negative random events, and will receive certain boosts to stats like mood, health, etc. to make the $20k a worthy investment! (These effects are a work in progress, and we will make an announcement when they're fully functional)

*Move To button on dog profiles, for easy transport of your dog to whichever kennel you want them in!

We hope to have this finished up and functional by tonight or tomorrow, so hang in there with us! We're excited to get this dynamic up and running! Our amazing artist, Xylax, is responsible for the artwork provided for the kennels! <3

It'd be awesome if you guys added a "back to Kennel" button on the dogs. It'd make training so much easier and faster :)

September Games: Beauty Contest A

Good evening, all!

I have some exciting news today! Alacrity is installing a new series of staff held games. This means the mods, helpers, admins, and artists are all involved in hosting games for the entire player base. The first game is starting this month, and it will be a new game every month from what it was the previous month! Every game will run for the duration of a month, and a new game will show up at the start of a new month.

This month will be staff hosted beauty contests!

Staff hosted beauty contests are similar to regular beauty contests in the sense that you dress up your dog to fit a theme. However they differ in that the staff of alacrity will be judging them and choosing a winner - and the prizes are better!

This month’s first theme is “Dogs in the Woods” in preparation for nice fall walks!
The second theme, which will run through the second half of the month, will be announced at a later time :)

Very soon, you're going to see our monthly shop undergo some pretty cool changes, and we'll be handling things a little different than ever before! Starting in September, instead of doing one themed set of items every month, we're going to expand our horizons a bit, and allow ourselves some more freedom. You will still be getting a small bundle of items that follow a theme, much like the bundles we've been doing for donation-only. Except now, they'll be for bone purchase!

The trade-off is that we will be making our magical items donation-only, as they provide sizable perks and boosts that, we feel, ought to live up to their definitions as rares. As soon as we decide on prices, and exactly which items will be going up for donation, they'll be placed in the Buy Bones section.

Now, instead of receiving a single update of themed items each month, the art team will now have the freedom to add items that don't have to fit a specific theme, and we can make these updates throughout the month. This means less strain on the art team, and more freedom, and a wider range of items that you'll be able to buy, since we won't have to base everything we do on a theme! We will stick with that criteria only for the bundles. You'll understand a bit more once these changes take place! Hopefully tomorrow!

Thank you all so much for your patience while we get the trial system ironed out! A great deal of planning, artwork, and coding is going into revamping the trial system, which is why it's taking so long to get done. But it's our top priority, and we'll give the big reveal as soon as possible!
