Photomanips
Started By
I am simply wondering if I should sell custom and maybe premade photomanips, but first I need some positive feedback. More examples are as listed below: "Fantasy Fairy" manip (Made after watching a tutorial based on it) "Fantasy Kingdom Landscape" manip Manip I made for someone's website. For the first one, I do believe I should've lowered the opacity of the wolf a little more, but when I lowered it too much, it wasn't very presentable. I also think I shouldn't have made the text glow, it threw it off. >.> I am also thinking of making layouts, since it is kinda my hobby. But I will get to that on a later date. All images in stocks were used with permission or based on the rules stated by the rightful owners.

@Calib: For the fairy manip I was only going based on a tutorial, and also it was the first photomanip I have made. >.>

The kingdom layout was also made while watching a tutorial.

For the one I made for a website, it was not an image I took and added photoshop brushes. The brushes were just for a design to the photomanip.

Obviously, my manips won't sell I take it. xP

@Onyra: "All images in stocks were used with permission or based on the rules stated by the rightful owners." It said that in the topic you know. I always make sure to get permission.
Here are my thoughts. Warning: blatant honesty ahead.

Fairy: your light sources are a mess. Be careful where the highlights and shadows are! Avoid Lens Flare: some see it as a cop-out. Also, the levels are off on the different elements causing things to not blend well. The birds in front of the moon make the scene too busy.

Fantasy Kingdom: don't use low quality starter images. The pixelization kills this one. Also, what is that statue supposed to be- part of the wall or a figure in the foreground? It's too hard to tell. Same lighting/levels issues as before.

Website manip: Photoshop brushes do not make a manip. I don't even count this as a manip as all you did was show 2 people's unrelated and poorly integrated clip arts with a few photoshop brushes slapped overtop. I wouldn't even post it here as it doesn't feel like a "real manip", just random images and photoshop brushes.
The wolves: Again, the blending, lighting and levels are a mess. Lowering opacity does not fix this problem nor does tossing photoshop filters overtop. Stop relying on brushes and filters: they don't fix anything and look cheap to people who know what they are.

Interesting pics. Some look little too dark (the fairy and waterfalls) and others a little too light (the hawk) to me. Yet that's a matter of taste - completely up to you. I like your style though. :) However, you should definitely make sure you are using pics you have permission to, and that you put credits on ALL the pictures. We don't want Robyn to get in trouble for copyrighted pics posted on Ala.
