Art Progression - Mine and yours!
Started By
Over the course of the past two years or so, I've noticed a definite increase in my proficiency as an artist, in not only ability, but speed. Whereas a drawing that would take me 14 hours two years ago, today would take me a mere 4 hours and be of higher quality.
I'll include my own examples, of course, but I wanted to ask others of you who may dabble in the arts, how fast have you progressed? Have you noticed jumps and lulls over periods of time? Have you settled into your own "style" and are simply tweaking it, or are you trying out new things?
I understand if you don't wish to include examples, I'm just curious how the rest of you see your progress happening - if you've even noticed it at all! :)

I still have a long way to go, but I was really surprised looking back at my old works (that at the time I thought were great)! How about you? :)

I'm still working to understand the tablet, honestly. I have a lot to understand, still. I have, in the year-and-change time since purchasing my first tablet noticed a HUGE difference in what I can do with it.

This was the first thing I ever drew on my tablet. It's awkward and I used a gross number of brushes to fill things in.

I made this for another site's contest a few months ago. I've been so busy with work and whatnot that I haven't had the chance to really draw a lot recently. Still, I note a marked improvement, personally.

I actually feel like I'm a pretty good artist with traditional media (read: paints, pastels, pencils), so I'm still working to get my digital art up to snuff.

Some of the more recent traditional media drawings I've done. These were both done completely in Prismacolor pencils.
