i also have another question which breed do you prefer to get..and im not saying all australian cattle dogs are bad..i know one who is awesome but she is still really jumpy..
cool that is very good i have owned two borders as well they are very similar to aussies if you know how borders are inside and out you should be one hundred percent fine with an aussie:)
hmmm well that doesnt necessarily mean that your experienced have you ever owned an aussie newfie or Australian cattle dog? in my opinion your not experienced enough unless you've owned and trained the breed your looking to buy breeds are very different and i also recommend doing tons or research i have owned two Australian cattle dogs and one aussie. I have my one aussie now. I put in over 100 hours of training in my pupies first year and another 150 in their second year. i am very serious when it comes to training. and for me the aussie learns quick and performs well but can have many issues with constantly being bored she digs a lot but only if she hasnt have her two walks that day..you see aussies need a lot of exercise and stimulation and need to be in a very strict environment otherwise they usually dont listen to your commands..but out of the three dogs you want this is the order i would list them in if your a first time dog owner i would say yes to the aussie but you must do a huge amount of training. if your a first time dog owner i would say definitely not a newfie because of the high mantinence of grooming and their sheer size i dont know much about newbies. But i can tell you The Australian cattle dogs are very high maintinence they need to have one set owner and are not the best family dogs...they ten to nip and both of mine were terrified of people and other dogs. My aussie willo is the best dog i have ever had. She loves other dogs she has never been in a fight and she obeys perfectly i dont even have to walk her on a leash. And she has never snapped at or bit a human but beware they will herd small children. and other animals especcially cats. i hope i didnt offend anyone by this and i really hoped i help im sure with your dog experience

my aussie is fantastic she is laid back and doesnt have too much energy, but she has enough that she loves walking and playing. Although she doesnt do to well with change and she might not be the best cuddle bug. She is skiddish somewhat of very loud noises and is very shy to newcomers...she likes to always be around her owner. She is highly intelligent and gets bored fairly easy. She tries to please, but is some what stuborn...she sheds alot and needs a constant grooming routien. She does clean herself up very well though and she will do best if taken to a training class. She is very obeidient and dog friendly. ive had her almost a year and ive never seen her even raise her hackles at a dog or cat. She will herd your children though. She definiately needs outlets and plenty of activity and play for her to be happy. She also tends to not eat like a pig she eats slower and never seems hungry. I feed her twice a day two cups each serving. She was very easy to potty train. She also is very good at walking. I hope this helps:) feel free to scribble me any questions you may have:) goodluck.

Ah. I'd say perhaps a German shepherd or Siberian husky. They like to run when asked(although the sibes have TONS of energy) but the GSDs usually like to lay around and run/jog when asked. They're loyal and are GREAT with kids and other dogs.
Poodle, golden lab, maltese, Norwegian Elkhound, Collie, Great Dane.. and thats all i can come up with!

I think many dogs are great family dogs..personally my rottweiler was the best family dog ive ever owned. Pit bulls can be called the "nanny dog" for thier ability to look after children. Weenie dogs, labs, corgies, many dogs are suitable...as long as they are socialized form a young age and have good personalities. every breed has dogs of varied tempers/personalities. :)

Ahh. Well any humane society will allow you to get to know a dog, so make sure it's the right size and take your family too. That way, if it is kid friendly, you can tell. And good with people, playful, and overall. It's the best idea, and although most may not be purebred, there are some. But it beats paying hundreds for a purebred that won't serve it's purpose in its family. :)
I would suggest a Dalmatian. They don't have a bad rep, and can live long healthy lives. Great with children, do need a good amount of exercise, an hour or two a day should be great. And they are loving companions!
I'd say a pit bull. If taught from a young age they can be very loving, without much training at all as long as not exposed to negative training can be just as well behaved as a border collie. But due to body structure, they aren't as active as the border collie, but not as lazy as a bulldog. They can make great family dogs, and I see you already love them! :D

I may very well resell them at some point. But not until I have maxed them and run them in some trials. I like maxing dogs, giving them companions to improve them and then selling on breeds I do not breed at some later point. Of course that only goes for the dog that is not fixed. :)
