Basic Items and Uses

Adder Barrack — toothaches

Alfalfa — chewed, then swallowed to help tooth decay

Aloe Vera — leaves are chewed and spit on burns, or skin problems, insect bits (etc.)

Blessed Thistle — increases circulation of blood and helps strengthen the heart & lungs

Borage Leaves — Leaves and Roots should be consumed to stave off fevers. Seeds and leaves should be consumed by the nursing Queen to increase available milk.Borage should never be used dried, only green.
Bramble twig syrup — helps to sleep (chewed to a fine syrup)
Broken Rosemary Blossoms — used to heal eye infection or to cover up wounds around the eyes or eyelids.

Broom Poultices — helps broken legs and other serious wounds

Broom Malice Poultices — heals open wounds

Burdock Root — Used to relieve joint pains (like arthritis)Good for rat bites and infected wounds

Catnip — Used to ease pain and help to cure Greencough, Blackcough and Whitecough, very important to have! Gathered and pressed into wounds to stop bleeding. Generally
only used with wounds that risk bleeding heavily as they can cause increased risk of infection.

Celandine — rub it on aching eye, and it the aching will go away, Used to strenghten weak eyes.

Chamomile — helps with depression and fatigue; soothes heart, Used to relax,
leaves and flowers sooths heart & gives physical strength

Chervil — juice of the leaves for infected wounds; chew the root for bellyache

Chervil Root – Used to cure bellyache

Chewed Gumweed — helps seal wounds from infection. stings slightly, but helps to collect the skin together and close quicker

Chapparal – Helps clean faces.

Chickweed — cures some of green and black cough

Cobwebs — helps cover a wound from infection or from bleeding

Coltsfoot — an herb that eases coughing

Comfrey Roots — chew and rub on wounds to clean them

Comfrey – Used to help cure for broken bones

Crushed Iris Petals — stimulates breathing during the birthing process; can also be used for kit’s sore throats

Crushed Marigold Petals — protects against infection of serious wounds; avoid around eyes, for it can be irritating.

Crushed Pawpaw Roots — for kitten cough. Leaves are used to ease coughs and other respiratory problems.

Garlic Juice — dripped into wounds to prevent infection; causes slight stinging

Ginger — for asthma and coughs

Goldenrod Juice — dripped into wounds to relieve tingling or pain; but does nothing to heal, and muscle pain reliever

Grass — for upset stomach

Hawthorne Berries — for indigestion (look like Deathberries, just not shiny), and treats heart burns

Honey — helps herbs go down easier, and soothes throats and infections and other things, particularly good for smoke inhalation

Horsetail — when chewed and applied to wounds, it stops infections

Ivy juices — calming

Juniper Berries — Good for belly ache and whitecough. Berries ease the stomach and can serve as a counter poison. Leaves are used to ease coughs and other respiratory problems.

Lavender — for chills, leaves & flowers are particularly good when eaten for easing pains in head and throat, inhaling the sent of fresh flowers can also calm the nerves.

Lavender Stem — calms a cat in shock

Marigold — soothes infections, leaves and Flowers should be consumed to relieve chills. Their leaves and petals can be chewed and placed on wounds to prevent infection.

Marigold leaves — dresses wounds,

Mouse Bile — from the liver of the common mouse may be harvested and used to kill stubborn fleas and ticks

Milkweed Juice — for sores or burns; don’t use around ears or eyes; poisonous when ingested

Narcissus Flower Petals — soothes a she-cat when having contractions

Nettle – Leaves are used on rashes and fever

Peathingy Flower Petals — helps a kit with kitten cough; will help to clear clogged throats and nasal passages

Poppy Seeds — lessens pain and helps a cat sleep, flower heads should be consumed together to relive
continuous coughs.petals and leaves should be chewed to aid in sleep and improve resting.

Rosinweed — cleans out the system when poisons have been digested

Ragweed Leaves – Relives stiff joints

Roots – Good for belly-aches

Sacred bark — for upset stomachs

Sage Roots — for cracked pads, especially on elder cats; use with Poppy Seeds

Shock Roots — stimulates the nervous system; use after a cat has been knocked out, poisoned, or had head trauma

Snapdragon Seeds — clears up ringworm and helps rid the body of fleas

Stinging Nettle — stops swelling

Snakeroot – Used to counter poison

Tansy — Leaves, flowers, and Stems should be eaten together to remove worms. Leaves may be chewed to relive joint aches. Flowers should be consumed to remove coughs. Pregnant Queens should NEVER be given Tansy, for it causes miscarriages.

Thinned-out Heather Down — helps with the indigestion of a kit; helps to line a kit’s stomach, and absorb the juices that produce the uncomfortable feeling

Thyme — for calming anxieties

Water mint – Used to cure bellyache

Willow (Tree) – Water from beneath the bark of the flowering willow may be dripped into the eyes to help clear blurriness of vision. It may also be applied to dry patches of skin to sooth itches.

Small amounts of Willow Bark may be consumed to ease pain, act against inflammation, and to ease diarrhea or fevers.

Yarrow Leaves – Makes them throw-up and extract poison

Yarrow Ointment — cracked paws

Poppy Seeds — helps dull the hunger or pain in your paws

Tansy Leaves — keeps hunger at bay

Crushed Lotus Roots — helps keep you awake, so that you will not fall asleep (energizer)

Witch Hazel — for when you need an extra “boost”; if you’re tired, and have to travel, this will wake you up

Water Mint — for stomach aches

Wild garlic — helps get rat poison out

Wild onion — helps get rat poison out

Windflower Shoots — for stomach cramps, such as cramps that came when a she-cat becomes pregnant

Yew — induces vomiting

Yarrow — induces vomiting

Poultices and Mixtures

Chewed Ragwort Leaves+Juniper Berries — for elders’ aching joints

Yarrow Ointment: Yarrow Leaves+Ragwort+Ivy — dress paw with ointment, then swath in cobwebs; for scrapped paws

Huckleberry+Goldenrod — muscle reliever

Other Helpful Info

Medicine cat apprentices must travel to the moonstone with their mentors and be accepted by StarClan to be an official Med. cat apprentice.

Medicine cats are often treated with less hostility than others when in another clan’s territory

Medicine cats may not have kits

Medicine cats should always know when another cat gets a sign from StarClan

Only a medicine cat can determine what a sign from StarClan means

Medicine cats and apprentices travel to the moonstone every half-moon

Med. cat apprentices can be a medicine cat even before the original is deceased. The mentor will chose when the apprentice is ready.

Diseases

Green Cough — Gives you a bad fever and a terrible cough. It can only be caught in leaf bare; you can die from it if you get sick enough.

Chill — You get a runny nose and a fever. You can catch it from getting wet in cold weather, and you can’t die from it.

White cough — Gives you a bad cough and fever, it can turn into green cough. It can’t kill you.

Cats Eye — Makes eye crust over; can cause blindness.

Bug Ears — Bugs crawl around in ear, making it itch and ooze. (Ear mites.)

Rabies — Gives you a fever, foamy mouth, and dizziness. There is no cure for it, and if you get it you will die. You can only get it from another animal that has it or getting infected in a cut.

Death disease — It gives you severe pain in every area, and will eventually kill you. You get it from ticks and mosquitoes. (Lyme disease.)

White Paw – Your paw pads turn white, and give off severe pain if you walk on them. You get it in leafbare when your paws are cold for a long period of time. (Frostbite.)

Scarlet fever _- You get a severe fever. Can only be received by kits in leafbare, from being cold.

Neetle _- You get a high fever and you throw up a lot. You can get it any time of the year, there is no known cause for it.

Black Cough _- The deadliest form of the ‘Coughs’. If you catch it, you are most likely to die. Comes right after Green Cough. Can kill if not treated soon enough!

Nightshade - Poisoness plant, Can kill a cat (stop bolding)

1. Defend your clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from the other clans, but your loyalty still remains with your clan, as of one day you may meet them in battle.

2. Do not hunt or trespass on another clans territory.

3. Elders and kits must be fed first before Apprentices and warriors. unless they have permission. Apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders.

4. Prey is killed. only to be eaten. thank starclan for its life.

5. A kit must be at least 6 moons before it can become an apprentice.

6. Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.

7. a cat cannot be made deputy without mentoring at least 1 apprentice.

8. The deputy will become the clan leader when the leader dies or retires.

9. after the death of retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be choosen before moonhigh.

10. the gathering of all five clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. there shall be no fighting among clans at this time.

11. Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.

12. No warrior may neglect a kit in pain or in danger, even if that kit is from another clan.

13. The word of the clan leader is the warrior code.

14. An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his/hers battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or it is necessary for self-defense.

15. a warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.

16. a medicine cat is to not have a mate nor kits, going against this will cause some serious problems (stop bolding)
