I have the worst problem right now. My mom is getting rid of all the dogs except her two favorites next week. We have 6 right now and its getting cut to 2. What's the problem? One of the four getting kicked to the curb is MINE. Benny (My schnauzer mix) is being sent off to the shelter because Mom is "Sick of it all" when she isn't here at all in the first place. -not trying to rant-
I need someone who lives near Virginia; not necessarily IN Virginia, but close enough; to take him in for an indefinite time period to take care of him for me. With Benny will come:
A crate
Food and Water Bowls
A pillow
His sqweaky ball
Leash
A 10lb bag of food
Brush and comb
I will also send the entirety of my pathetic $13 paycheck via paypal to pay for additional food and potential vet-care needs.
Now, I'm not going to sucker anyone into a problem, so here's his behavior issues (And anything that may be problematic):
He's food agressive; I feed him 2 meals at the morning and night to curb this; each meal is 20 minutes; if he doesn't finish, he doesn't eat until the evening
He is a counter surfer and a trash-forager; I put him in his crate before leaving him alone to stop him from doing both
He DOES chase cats, but he doesn't attack them; he sees it as play
He does play rough with other dogs; he growls loudly and it will seem like he's fighting
He does jump up; he usually responds to a "Leave it" command when said sternly
He's a window jumper when riding in the car at low speeds (So if you're riding in a neighbor hood with the window down, he may decide he wants to walk...). If I can, I will buy a car-seat harness to put him in for potential rides
He's a schnauzer so he's stubborn and fearless. You have to be stern and stubborn back to make him respond if he ignores you; but he is very responsive to people who are nice to him (He was neglected before I got him so he liked being treated like a family member rather than a nuisance)
I'm sure that's everything I should say about him. He is neutered! That should be mentioned I will get him a thorough vet exam before I bring him via car ride. I want to keep contact, so I'll give my home phone number and email to whom ever is willing to watch him for me. I will also note: What ever money is left after I take him back is yours to keep for this huge favor.
I will edit when I found someone who can take him in for me.

Awww that's so sad. If I wasn't living in a dorm room, I would totally take him in for you. Hope you find someone soon :)
