What can I do?
Started By
Hey guys so on the 21st I found my my dog run over on the road in front of our house. I was heart-broken and cried so hard I feel like literally my heart broke. I don't know how to make this saddness subside. Everytime I think of her go outside...see someplace we went. I try to stop thinking about her but it seems like that's the only think in my mind for the last three days I haven't left my house and the only thing I can mange to look at is my Cat without hurting. Having a hard time looking at Sage's brother Fox that I have moved him to my grandparents farm and I won't even go to see him. I don't know how to get through this pain and I have nobody to talk to. Is it dumb for me to feel heartbroken for a dog that I raised from 6 weeks to 8 months? Will the sudden pain rushes and crying fits stop? Why do I sometime forget that it happened? I just keep blanking out. Is there anything I can do?

Wow...
I think it's useless for you to think about "Am I supposed to feel this way" and occupy your mind with that, because feelings just pup up. However, you should actively start thinking about how to get over these feelings, since they are only a burden. BUT not yet. Let yourself grieve, and feel the feelings you are feeling. After a few more days, try to start interfering your feelings with rational thoughts. How does not seeing my other dog actually help? Why won't I go out of my house? It would be best if there was an actual person telling you these things.

I think it's best if you actually talk to someone, opening up in the internet rarely helps, because no one can respond your feelings or give you comfort.

It's a fact that, yes, those things will stop in time. But you will probably never forget what happened, you'll just learn to live with it. What it is for you to do is trying to make the "getting over it" -process faster, and ask your closest to help you with it. There must be at least one person in real life who you can talk to?
Best wishes :)
