I don't know if this woman is breaking any laws, but I know that what she is doing isn't right. I have emailed the humane society and the OSPCA but have not gotten any responce yet. If anything can be done, let me know. This is what happened.

On Feb 23, I put my 3 ferrets up for sale on a classifieds site. That day, a woman responed via email. She told me that she loved ferrets. That she missed her past ferrets. She told me she wanted them to stay together. She told me they would only be in a cage for 3 hours a day. She told me everything I wanted to hear. She even told me she wanted me to petsit them the weekend of the 23rd of March. I thought everything about her sounded great. She asked if i was asking $50 each. I told her I was, but that I was willing to lower the price if they were going to the same home. I told her I didn't care about the money, I just wanted them to go to a good home. We agreed on the price of $100 for them all. She told me she would pay me for them via e-tranfer the day she is paid (Feb 29th, and she did pay.) and that she would come pick them up on Saterday March 3rd. All of that week we chatted back and forth on facebook and though emails about the ferrets. I desided during the week that I would give her all of their stuff free of charge so it would stay with the ferrets, it uncluded food, some toys, and some expecive custom made bedding sets that I designed and ordered online. (about $200 worth) I was so sure that they were going to a good home, that I told her on March 2 that I had changed my mind about selling her their cage along with them. I wanted them to be in a familliar place. I was planning to keep it because it is a huge and expencive cage (worth about $300 new). I told her I was willing to sell it to her for $150. I told her it was ok if she wanted to wait until March 14th to pay, but the sooner the better. She agreed. On march 3 she told me that the was giving her hedgehog someone and was going to pick up my ferrets after that. She arrived at my apartment in the early afternoon. She told me that she had a Basset Hound that she just pick up in the back seat. She got my ferrets and their things. She left the cage and told me her friend would be back later that day to pick it up. They did a few hours later. Everything was fine until the morning of Monday March 5th. She put an ad on the webiste that morning about selling one of the ferrets for $50. I was upset, she only had them for 2 days and was trying to sell one without contacting me to ask if I wanted him back. I sent her a facebook message asking why she was selling him and went to work. When I returned home, I noticed she deleted the message. I sent her a text trying to figure out what was going on. She said he bit her and she was scared. I told her he is very scared in his new place and that he just needed time to relax and adjust. I said I would like to take them back if she didnt want them or it wasnt working out. She told me she would try it out. The next morning I checked the website and saw that 2 of them were up for 100 dollars. (I sold her 3 for 100) I told her that I didn't know what was going on. That I wanted them all back because I wanted them all to stay together. She wouldn't respond to my texts. (I looked though her facebook pictures and noticed that I saw a lot of her other pets as ads on the website. That is when I realised she must buy peoles pets and sell them all the time... But more on that later.) A few hours later she blocked me on facebook. My fiance called her, she said she had some friends over and would call me back. A half an hour later she text me saying that she sold them. I said to her that I sold them to her so that would stay together. She said that they were already gone and that all of their things went with them. She said that I would get my money on the 14th like we agreed. I asked her if this whole thing was just a ploy to make money. She answered how do you think I made money? oh my god stop harassing me. I told her if she wasnt in it to make money she would have given them back. I told her that what she did was terrible and that I didn't want her ever contacting me on my phone again. All she said was "no problem".
Worried about where my ferrets ended up, I put an ad up on the website explaining the situation and trying to reach out to who ever ended up with them. The woman I sold them to replied to is saying that it was slander. and that she reported it to to the website to have it removed. I never mentioned her name or contact info anywhere so I knew It was fine and chose not to reply. I also got an email from the woman who bought them from her. This was the email: "We got all three of the ferrets yesterday. We had responded about the two males since our male had recently lost his friend and we wanted a companion for him. We had discussed through texting taking the two males for 100 but when my boyfriend was on the way she said that she wanted us to take all three because they were too smelly and she couldn't stand it and she would give us their cage and supplies with them for 150. However once my boyfriend got there he was given the three ferrets, a bag of food, a ferret post, a toy and a bed for the 150. She had said that she was going to keep the cage for her rats when we thought we were going to get it so we could expand the current ferret nation cage we had. She didn't give us any of the hammocks or blankets that it looks like they had. They are at a good home, however now we are kind of upset that this woman took advantage of the situation probably just to get the cage." She was very nice and even text me some pictures of them so I knew they were ok. I was so relived. But that woman DID make a profit, and she lied about giving them all of their stuff. She kept the cage and expencive custom bedding. For her rats I assume. I then got an email from a man in responce to my ad. "omg i think i bought the cage a ferret nation 2 level and emailed someone where to get a ferret because she was sellin it for 50$. she had dogs fish birds it just seemed like a mill i have address if you need it. is her name (BLOCKED)?" I told him it was and he told me how sorry he was that this happend. He got the cage for 125. I still dont have the money for it and she is making me wait until the 14th to get it.
And that the end of MY situation

Now, baised on the picture of her animals on facebook, I was able to find ads for MANY other animals she was selling. Most of them have been taken down so I assume she has sold those ones. The website also has a feture where you can see the other ads that person has up. Using this I've been able to track her ads as they go up and down.
In just the past week she has had ads up to sell: 2 puppies of 4 only weeks old, the mother of the puppies (she said she saved her from an abusive home. This is just speculation on my part, but I am under the impression that she may have acquired the dog pregnant, just to sell her and her puppies later.), 5 birds. My ferrets. And I didn't see this as an ad, but she told me she was dropping off a hedge hog somewhere before she came to my place to get the ferrets. And then when she got to my place she also said she picked up a basset hound at the same time. Most of these ads are not up anymore so I believe them to already have been sold.

As of right now, has an ad up trying to sell the basset hound she got the day she picked up my ferrets, 2 birds, an ad that she is looking for a cat, and other ferret cage that she somehow acquired

Also a few hours ago, someone contacted me though email after seeing my ad. "Hello, just a question on that lady who has bought your ferrets was her email: (BLCOKED) just wondering because she contacted me about mine too just so i know if she tries to contact me again i know not to sell him to her" I told her that it was her email. She was trying to buy her ferret as well.
If this isnt enough, based on the ads and photos I have seen, this woman has had in the past week (and these are only the ones I saw pictures of or saw ads about.) The 2 very young puppies , 3 dogs, several Rats (not sure how many) my 3 ferrets (at the time) at least 6 birds. There is likely more. She said she lives in an apartment so I don't think it's a very big place.

If something can be done about ANY of this please let me know.
