Hey guys! I am a pretty new player here, and getting my feet wet. I have the training/trialing thing down, and now am starting to plan for when my critters are maxed and ready to breed. So here are some questions that I figured it would be most helpful to post here rather than just get one answer through the issue hub.

My main question is: how does inbreeding work?

Obviously it can be done, because I bought a Catahoula (without checking... bad me) that is inbred. His pedigree says that his pups\' health will be affected. Affected in what way? Will those effects go away a couple of generations out?

I also inadvertently purchased some sibling pairs. They obviously cannot be bred to each other, but how many generations out, if ever, is it safe to combine those two strains? For example, my GSDs, Max and Saturday. Could their grandkids be bred together without ill effects? Great-grandkids? Can you judge it by the pedigree - ie if the detailed lineage does not show any common dogs you\'re ok? Or does Alacrity just require that two dogs be completely, 100% unrelated to be bred successfully?

I know that breeding unmaxed dogs results in lower TP. How much lower? Is that affected by how high the parents\' TP is, and how close they were to being maxed, or will an unmaxed 2k x an unmaxed 2k result in double-digit puppies? Not going to be an issue for my Papillons for quite some time, but the others are higher :)
