Cheats and Tips-

Delete All Save Data

To delete all your data, when you first start Nintendogs and it shows the copyright Nintendo on the top screen and there is no music, not the picture of a dog, quickly press and hold L, R, X, Y, A, and B at the same time. A screen will pop up asking if you are sure you want to delete all your data.




Easy Trainer Points

To earn more trainer points, brush your dog instead of washing it because you get more points for each minute you brush. To really rack up on points, lay the brush in the middle of your dog and just keep it there. You do not need to keep your stylus on the screen, and it doesn't matter if the screen goes black after a while (like a screensaver). Plug in your charger and you can keep going like this for an entire week! Just don't really brush your dog because after your dog's fur becomes "beautiful" you are forced to stop brushing. Don't close your DS.

Present Detection

Watch the top screen carefully when on a walk. When the dog icon stops, it means you will soon come across a present!


General Tips
•Feed the dog the light bulb that appears over your dogs head, it will make it learn the trick quicker. If you feed a bone to dog it gives trainer points!
•Throw a toy. No matter if the dog catches it or not rub him/her on the head. Any time you pet your dog and sparkles appear you get trainer points. Do the same when the dog does a trick correctly.
•Whistle and call its name, instead of pressing the round button to call your dog.
•walks give you 100 trainer pts. On the end of your walk go to a park. Put on new collar. It will save any items found. You can go on a walk again!
•Go to contests and place in the top 3.
•Visit friends in bark mode
•Let it play with other dogs you own
•Give it a bath then brush it
•Play it music it likes
•Before you go into a contest save. Then if you do poorly in a contest you can shut it off BEFORE the contest is over and you can restart it.
•Buy treats from the discount store and give them to the dog when it's good, does a trick, does good in a contest, finds good presents for you, and when it doesn't get into fights with other dogs.


Basic Tricks

Sneeze: While sitting tap your dogs nose. it should sneeze. This can be taught as a trick.

Backflip: Tell your dog to sit. Then, tell your dog to jump. it should do a backflip. This can be taught.

Speak: buy a keyboard (at 5000 trainer points) tap the little trumpet symbol. Now tap the camera symbol until it reaches the right dog. hold the lowest note (the left side) your dog should bark (keep holding) then the lightbulb will appear. let go of the note and teach the trick.

Wave: Tell your dog to sit. now grab his ear and move it around the dog should bring it's paw up then tap the lightbulb and teach it the trick. Stand: tell your dog to beg. now take his chest and slide up. He should stand up like a Night fury. tap the bulb and teach the trick.


Walk Till You Drop

Before making the last stop in the park, change your dog's collar to auto-save your game. Turn off the DS and cold boot the game. This will enable you to save any items you found during the walk and restarts your walk at the same time, allowing you to farm the park for items.


Gift Locator Part 2

To find out if garbage or a present is approaching during one of your walks, look at the top screen. There should be the little dog symbol on the path that you drew. If that dog symbol stops and your dog is still walking, this indicates that either garbage or a present is coming up on the floor. If it is a present, tug your dog to a stop and your dog will notice it. It will pick it up and bring it over to you. It is easier to do this when your dog is running.


Free Gifts and Toys

While you can purchase new toys for your pup to play with, you can actually get some goodies for free if you know where to look. When you take your Nintendog on a walk, outline a path that goes by the blue "?" boxes marked on the map. Your puppy is likely to run off screen at those points and come back with a present for you!A puppy will bark two times for a dog and one for a present.

Your puppy will also randomly run to get presents for you if you leave the game on the "Home" screen for long. If left unattended, your Nintendog will leave the apartment and stay off screen. Simply tap on the center button (the circular one) to whistle and call back your pup who should be carrying a new present.

Breeding Nintendogs
Yes.It isn't just a myth,but you can only breed on 3DS.Just put a male and female of the same breed together,feed them only milk and dry food,wait a day and they will breed.Also note that they have to both have been bought on the same day.

Interesting Facts About Nintendogs That Make It Realistic!

When one dog is out and you feed it the dog eats less fast no matter how hungry it is.Can you guess why?It's because there is no competition over eating the food and none will be eaten by other dogs.

When dogs on Nintendogs pee it's realistic.The males raise their leg and the females squat.This is true with real dogs also!

Leave the Nintendogs game on for a little while and watch the screen.The dog(or dogs even though most dogs can't be bored with others)will show signs of boredom like barking,sleeping,rolling over and churning the air with their paws.

When dogs go for walks they sometimes happen upon other players and their playful pooches.There is always a town bully and a sweetheart.Maggie the Yorkie is the sweet dog in my neighborhood while Trouble the German shepherd is the bully(this breed tends to be the town bully XD).Two male dogs get along worse then two females.
