Interracial Dating

Hello. I'm new but this is a problem in my life and wanted to know what people think. I am attracted to black men but I am white. I was talking with my dad one time and he said: I don't know what I would do if you dated a black guy. But actually there is a black guy who i am going to date in a year. We promised to date in a year because we wanna know each other better. Also he treats me perfectly! He always says: I can't wait til we are older so I can treat you like my queen and happily kiss you. Let me know what you think! :) Thanks!

Thanks everyone! I am not a racist person because I mean my whole family is white and so am I and I have even dated white guys before. It's just black men have great personalities and they always have a smile on their face!

And I would also like to mention while on the subject of racism..
That is a gigantic RACIST stereotype that only WHITE PEOPLE can be racist. I've met Black people that did not want to be black and were completely racist against their own race! My dad's neighbor is a black man, and he's completely racist against whites.
ANYONE can be racist. Not just white people.

Well I was raised to only date a white guy. Same with my sister. My sister has dated everything but and is pregnant by a black guy.
I like girls and guys
I am mainly attracted to white girls and white guys.. My entire family is racist and old schooled, I was raised to believe that blacks stay with blacks, whites with whites, Hispanics with Hispanics. My dad also taught me that if we didn't go by these laws, then there would never be such thing as a pure white person or a pure black person. That the pure races would become extinct and the world would be overrun by interracial people.
However I believe that times have changed. Since times have changed more people are open to the concept of equal races so more people are open to interracial dating. I believe that you date who you WANT to date . You marry who you WANT to marry. You have children with WHO YOU WANT TO.
Racism will never go away. I am slightly.. racist. Okay I admit this. It's due to experiences I've had with certain races and how I've been raised. Our generation is just now getting open minded to the subject of homosexuality. That controversy has been around as long as the racism controversy. I believe that if it's your life no one should be able to tell you what to do with it. I may not agree with how some people live their lives, but I'm not going to stop them.
If you want to do drugs. Do drugs. I wouldn't want you to.. but I'm not going to stop you from making your own mistakes and learning from them.

Do what you want with your life.
No one should be able to judge someone simply for who they happen to fall in love with.

Personally I don't see a whole lot of issue myself with what race people are, and certainly have no problem with other races getting together. To be honest most of my family is Caucasian though we have a mixture of black as well. My two oldest sisters have black children and I find nothing wrong with them. I think when most parents say that they are leaning toward a specific type of people, but not as in color. Though I don't personally know your family or anything, I know how mine work and my mother likes to live by a quote that it's the "Content of the character, not the color that makes them who they are." This meaning mostly that color/race has no effect or difference but your actions and how you treat others do!

Perhaps your father was mostly worried about him being gang related, or violent in some way? With time he may come around to the idea. Either way good luck and remember it's your life ultimately and not his. (Though if your under 18 or still live with your parents it may be a tad harder to express that option.)

People are people and you cant help who you love.
Most 'white' people have black ancestors and most 'black' people have white ancestors. We're all a melting pot of races.
I'm sure if your dad looked at his family tree there would be at least one person of African descent in it and if not there's bound to be someone from another race in there.

There are instances of black children being born to white couples and white children to black couples... if he needs more proof that we're that much more the same.
The children were even dna tested.
The couples had one ancestor of that skin color and the gene just happened to pop up in their baby.

I think that's fine. You guys are both humans, right? I'm sorry if I offend your dad here or something, but race shouldn't be a playing factor in our society and much less in our love life. People who discriminate against someone because of their skin color are not very kind in my opinion. I could think of so many more words to describe racist people but I don't want to break any rules by swearing.
I'm sorry if what I say offends someone but this is my opinion and I will voice it freely.
