Maximum Ride RP ~The Other Story~
Started By
This RP is already in progress please do not post any replies within this thread if you are not part of the RP!! You are more than welcome to read and enjoy. Thank you :3

Story Plot:

Somewhere out on the California coastline lays a secret base. It's in plain view, yet no one knows what goes on there. The scientists who run the place have been rushing about. Gathering data, whispering among themselves keeping information hush hush. Causing some worry among other groups living within the base. Mainly the experiments who often have to deal with the white coats--scientists--daily.

Something was surely up. Especially when the Erasers are minding their manners. For several days this has been going on. Until a strange calmness filled the building. The next morning the Erasers hulled off several of the experiments. Few were loaded into armed vans while others were taken elsewhere in the building.

Our character(s) were the ones being transported. To where we don't know. Why? That's also a mystery. That's something we will all find out soon, for now let us hope that we survive to see tomorrow!!

Things We Need to Know:

This RP will be taking place in North America. Where they will end up depend on our replies. Our characters will be traveling mostly within the Pacific Area (California, Oregon, Washington etc). From there will travel east. Along the way Erasers and white coats will be hunting us down. To avoid being found they will keep themselves out of site unless supplies are needed. Or certain situations will force them to enter populated areas.

In the meantime, our characters will get a chance to get know one another. It maybe a good thing or a bad thing. Who knows!? Our characters will learn new skills, meet new people and find things about themselves they never knew about. As well as to why the white coats, Erasers and bird kids exist!

Mutant Bird Kids: 98% human, 2% avian (bird). Bone structure is lighter enabling them to fly, heavier bones would have proven to be a problem. Their wings are quite large. When stretched out they appear longer than their body. Example: Bird Kid height- 5'6" Wing Span: Roughly 14 feet. On some occasions the mutations within the bird kid evolve causing them to gain new abilities such walking through walls, turning invisible, talking to animals etc.

Erasers: Human-wolf hybrids. Most of the time they take on human form but when on the attack or on the hunt they'll appearance takes on a more wolfish look. Almost like you modern day werewolf. Almost all of them have nasty jerk like personalities. A handful have the thirst for blood. Erasers are the White Coats lackeys. So trusting one of them is a high level risk, better to avoid.

White Coats: Scientist who enjoy experimenting on other humans. They have labs all across the globe, most hidden some in plain sight. Not all White Coats are evil beings, some are out to help improve the world's existence yet those who they poke and probe don't see it that way. In any case all are crazy in the head.

I saw how she saw me. All of a sudden her cheeks turned a light pink. What's with her? She wouldn't dare look me in the eyes. I was wondered. I mean she did tell me to take my shirt off, I just simply followed orders. Yet again... why was I following what she was saying? She walked away. Not saying anything, just throwing bandages my way.

I was fine with that. I didn't mind if I had to do it by myself. Heck I'm pretty sure if I was alone I would have to do it by myself anyways. I knew I had cuts in my back, that I couldn't reach, but I didn't really mind them. Winter was the one that offered to cure them. Winter... why her? I mean.. (sigh) I'm not saying she isn't attractive, because she is. Wait, what the heck am I thinking off?! (Sigh) No. I can't... like her. She's just a companion, like Caroline. But.. I felt like protecting them both. Why? I don't know. It's like those instincts that come over a wolf and it's pack. I can't fall for one... because I'd stop protecting the other. I have to get rid of these.. stupid thoughts. I have to.. be a leader. Not that they need one of course.. but someone has to be one. I finish with the smaller cuts around my chest area and decided they were good enough, even if they were small gashes, I wouldn't die from them.

I noticed Caroline on the floor. Sleeping already. Sure I had just met her... but what was her life before meeting us? What kind of horrible things had they done to her? Who? Where there White Coats where she was being held? How about Erasers? (sigh) So many questions, so little time. I'll make sure to ask her when I have the time.

By the time I turned I saw Winter getting out of the woods she had gone into earlier. She looked more relax, less nervous. She came to me and simple patched up the back wounds I couldn't reach. "It's not safe here. Let's walk until we can't no more." I nodded and she carried Caroline.

Some time later

The walk was not awkward, but it was rather quite. We stopped in front of what looked like a small cave. No signs of a bear or other animals using it, so we decided to rest there. Winter laid Caroline down and herself as well. We didn't say anything to each other. I noticed she was asleep because I could hear her soft breathing, like Caroline's. I wasn't going to sleep, at least not till I felt like we where safe. I looked around and saw that the area we picked was partly covered with ferns and small shrubs, so we weren't that visible.

I laid back again the cave's walls and relaxed my soar muscles. I looked at the two girls peacefully sleeping. I reached into my bag and pulled out some snacks and water. The moon was out and my reflection caught the water in my water bottle. A pair of Blue eyes glanced back at me. I put my bottle back down, and took a bite out of my granola bar. This.. was going to be a long night.

I shouldn't have asked Zachary to take off his shirt. I knew the wounds needed to be tended too but when I saw his nicely formed muscles my cheeks grew warm. I never had the chance to really be around guys before, or girls for that matter. I was kept seperated from everyone. Besides from the constant visits from Whitecoats and Erasers. Most were guys but that's a whole other level compared to this.

I don't know what to think. My mind goes blank when my focus is on Zachary. Then out of the blue I say things. Things that I regret, which makes me go into a mood. Without a word I handed the bandages to Zachary. Stood up then walked away. Leaving my pack behind I headed into the woods to take a breathier. The group is getting larger, I am thankful that there is another girl for I don't know what would happen if Zachary and I traveled much longer. Just the two of us. Yet part of me told me to chase the girl out. I don't know if it has to do with my trust issue when it comes to newcomers or if she might pose a threat with my relationship with Zachary.

I stopped in my tracks realizing on what I was thinking about. My cheeks grew even hotter. WHY!? Why am I having such thoughts? Zachary and I had only known each other for a few days. There's no way I should have such feelings. I took both of my hands and smacked my face together squishing it up like a fish face to snap out of it. Bad idea. Ouch! My face twinged. I rubbed on the sore spots.

But at least I can think much clearer now. A plan started to take shape. Soon I figured one out I rejoined the group. I had only walked off a few yards, close enough just in case more trouble arrived. Luckily it would seem that things will remain calm for a small while. When I approached Zachary and Caroline. Zachary was still in the same spot where I had left him. He attempted to bandage up the hard to reach wounds but managed the easier ones. I sighed knowing I would have to go and help him. Caroline had fallen asleep. I was gone maybe five, seven minutes. The attack must of worn her out mentally and physically. She seems to be the type that never had to fend off Erasers before. If that were the case I envied her. All my life I was forced to fight Erasers. Kill or be killed. I use to hate the thought of killing I still do but it's easier to deal with now than in the pass.

Without a word I knelt beside Zachary patched up the wounds he was unable treat. Then I shouldered my pack before walking over to Caroline. Carefully I cradled her into my arms. "It's not safe here. Let's walk until we can't no more." I said.

Sometime later...

We walked for a good four hours until my legs began to buckle underneath me. Wounded, hungry, and tired I couldn't go any further. The forest had a lot of slopes, rocks and hard terrain made the hike worse off than it should. We had found a small carved out cave for a temporary shelter. Soon we entered I gently placed Caroline down. By the look on her face she was dealing with a nightmare.

During the hike I couldn't bring myself to say a word. I wanted to tell Zachary on the next step we should take but I never did tell him. It can wait till tomorrow. I didn't have the energy to tell him now. Finding my own space I collapsed on the spot. It was chilly, yet making a fire would attract attention so we didn't lit one. I used my pack as a pillow. Within a few moments I was completely out.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kedron woke up with a bad headache. By how bad it felt the drug Director used on him must have been a high dose. He used it on him before so Kedron knew a headache would follow when waking. Slowly he sat up looking around. His body was slightly numb which made it difficult to move around. Oddly he wasn't bound. Nor was there anyone around. From what he can tell they tossed him in some kind of abandoned building... more like a shack. Staggering to his feet Kedron walked steadily outside.
It was dark.Windy. A storm was coming. Rain mostly by the smell. Sniffing the air there are traces of familiar scents. Old scents meaning he's been out for a good few hours. Rubbing his neck Kedron pondered on what he should do. He didn't recognize the area so most likely they dumped him somewhere away from town.
Oh well he thought. A grin came upon his face. Sensing a chance for freedom. Without hesitating Kedron morphed into his werewolf-like form darting into the woods. Howling like a mad man. A mad man whose chains had just be released. Excited he ran for miles on end until his breath got caught in his throat and body felt like jelly. He slumped down up against a tree had one last thought before closing his eyes to rest. When he wakes up he'll search for Caroline. Curious if she made it out safely or not. Either way he wouldn't care. He just wants to see that pitiful face of hers once again.
Sliding to the ground, tears ran down my flushed cheeks. Glancing to the ground, the intense throbbing in my tibia was excruciating. Blood poured from my mangled leg. Looking around, I noticed Winter walking around. My vision still blurry, I thought I saw her face beaten up, however, I wasn't entirely sure. Sighing, I slowly attempted to stand. A bone crushing pain shocked throughout my interior and posterior sections of my damaged tibia. Wincing in pain, my body slammed to the ground with a small force, causing more blood to pour from my injury.
Taking the attention off myself, I turned my head to see Winter leaning down near Zach. Hearing her make a comment about herself I watched as he grinned. Seeing her blush I smiled and thought to myself; finally. Yes, I haven't known these two long, however, I could definitely sense a spark between them. Thoughts ran through my frazzled mind... It seemed all of this has happened because of me. This burden would now haunt me for the rest of my life.
Shaking my head, I reached up, catching the water bottle Winter threw. Giving her a small smile, I nodded and then continued thinking to myself. Switching impressions; I was rather curious of why she threw me this water bottle which had a deer standing proudly on the plastic wrap it had around it.... I've perceived an appalling vibe being given to me from her. Zach said something about his pack, which happened to sit right next to where I was at. So, I picked it up and threw it over to them.
Finally being able to close my eyes, I remained hesitant to falling asleep. After a few minutes past, I drifted off into a dream.
I felt, once again, caged. This time in a moving motar vehicle of some sort. I tried to move, but, it seemed I wasn't really there. Only a fragment of my mind. Adjusting my eyes, I noticed something- no, someone laying down. Seeing him get up, my heart sank. It was Kedron. The Eraser who cares for me. The one who I shared a fondness with whom I felt I had connected with. It's crazy to think I have any feelings for this bad reputation of a breed.... I couldn't change my feelings. I was unsure of what these feelings were. I've never experienced them before. Something wasn't... Normal. Seeing him change into his wolf form, my body turned stiff, while my eyes grew soft. I noticed him growling getting ready to break through what seemed to be the front area of the truck; at least by this point I pinpointed it being a truck. Then I woke.
Gasping, I held my hand over my mouth. Breathing, I calmed then saw the two other kids passed out. Taking my eyes back to my shin, more tears rolled down my face. "Kedron." I whispered. "Where are you...?" I desperately whimpered; fading back to sleep.
With all the Erasers dead, I worried a bit less. I looked around to see if I had any bad damage. My shirt was surprisingly intact and my leather jacket only had dust on it. I sighed. Glad I didn't have to look for new clothing. I looked about to check on the girls. Caroline was sitting quietly. Her eyes darting from left to right, as if she didn't trust her surroundings anymore. While Winter moved closer to get her backpack.
I was sure that she was injured but I didn't get a close look. She came back with a first aid in her hands. Her face was badly bruised. Her lip was cut, and she was having a nosebleed. I was concerned overall. I didn't say anything because it looked like her look could kill you.
"Stop staring, or your going to make my face hurt a lot worse." She said. I didn't know I would make her feel uncomfortable, so I moved my sight to the ground. She moved closer and I could help but feel comfortable. I looked behind her to see if Caroline was still alright. She caught my sight and smiled. I gave her a fair nod and she continued drinking a water bottled that Winter had given her.
"Besides my injures aren't that bad, so take off your shirt so I treat you!" Winter Said. Her words caught me off guard since I wasn't really paying attention to what she was doing. I nodded. Being half naked didn't bother me, specially since the White Coats made me undress most of the time.
I took my shirt off and glanced at my body. It looked worse than it looked. My chest had cuts and scratches, some bleeding severely. Winter didn't even meet my gaze, she was busy looking at my bare chest. Caroline came from behind with my backpack on hands. Her cheeks were pinkly blushed as Winters. She handed me my backpack.
"You guys alright?" I asked.
Everything went into a haze. The blood in my body ran cold as I watched the events unfolded. Zachary fought several Erasers on his own. Getting injured by the one he had difficulty with. The two that attacked me had gotten quite a beating. I managed to kill one by accident when I kicked him sending him flying into a tree. Snapping his neck. The other one took me a while to fend off. I was already worn out so the fight had dragged one. Eventually with the last burst of energy I knocked him out.
Caroline I nearly had forgotten about her. Oddly I somehow had put her in the back of my mind when all this began to happen. Maybe because I was mad at her for being careless. After all they followed her scent here. It's the only way they could have found us. At least with the way I am feeling that's the only option that came to mind.
I slumped down on a log to take a breather. My head ached from the few blows it received. In the meantime now that it was over I figured to treat everyone's wounds before he peal out of here. I staggered to my feet shuffling through the darkness I found my pack. I pulled out the first aide kit. I then walked over to Zachary. I figured since he dealt with most of the carebears on his own there could be a chance ended up quite a lot of wounds.
I ordered him to sit on the ground so I could examine the extent of his injures. I could see several light and deep scratches on his arms by the Eraser claws, and cuts on his face from being punched. His cloths were tattered but other than that I couldn't tell where the other injuries might be. As I looked him over he gave me a look of concerned. It took me a second to realize that maybe my face was a lot more battered than I thought. My nose was still bleeding, my bottom lip was cut and I mostly likely have bruises forming on my face.
"Stop staring, or your going to make my face hurt a lot worse." I hissed. It hurt to talk but within a day or so the wounds would disappear depending how series they might be. The deeper the wound the longer it'll take to heal. "Besides my injures aren't that bad, so take off your shirt so I treat you!" My mood was bad, I just hoped it would go away quick before I say something I may regret.
Trying not to focus just on Zachary I glanced over at Caroline. She appeared to be okay despite the look of terror on her face. I sighed wondering if she ever had to fight off Erasers or had it easier by being caged most of her life without needing to fight to survive. I kept my mouth shut knowing I couldn't say something hurtful. Instead I tossed her a bottle of water I was going to use to clean out our wounds. I hope that this little gesture would snap her back into reality.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kedron woke up feeling a bit nauseous. He only ever feels nauseous when he's stuck riding in something man made. That's why her preferred to walk or run to places. He hates anything on wheels, that floats on water and his least favorite anything that flies. Kedron rolled over onto his side. His arms weren't bound, and he wasn't in chains. Most likely Dr. Zane figured the tranquilizer would have knocked him out long enough for him to be relocated. He's been given that shot on several occasions his body had built up a bit of an immunity to it. So the effects wear off shortly after use.

Kedron sat up cracking his neck and shoulders that were stiff from laying on metal flooring. Without a moment notice he allowed himself to transform. Claws ready to sink into flesh. He glanced to the front end of the vehicle. Despite there being no window he could easily break though to the front. A sinister grin crept onto his face. In a blur he took action.

I'll let you imagination think up what had happened next... let's just say it ain't pretty. o3o;

A snap of a twig arose in the silent forest. Out of nowhere, Erasers came running. I froze. I had never been around this many of them before. Suddenly, I felt myself getting pushed aside, and ended up falling to the cold hard ground. Screeching in pain, I looked down to see blood pouring from my shin. A low growl made me whip around, clenching my fists. An Eraser lunged at me, snarling. Before I could push him away, I felt myself being held close to someone; another Eraser. His body pressed up behind me, shoving my wings close to my back and making me rather uncomfortable. A smug grin of pleasure appeared on the Eraser in front of me. Struggling to get away, I spit in his face and watched as it become blood red with rage. Picking up my leg, I shoved it back as hard as I could. A grunt of pain came from behind me and I was released.

Darting away from the two, I picked up a decently large rock and barred my teeth at the Eraser who continued to follow me. He moved swiftly positing him between myself and a fallen tree. Jumping over it, I ran as fast as I could to him. I felt a sharp pain in the leg that had gotten hit on that rock when I fell. Being shoved forcefully to the ground, a body was on top of me, breathing heavily. The man grabbed my left arm and pressed it up diagonally against my chest which limited me to move. Searching on the ground with my free hand, my fingers felt he edge of the sharp rock. Taking a hold of it, I grasped it tightly. Using all the strength I had left, I bashed it into the Eraser's head, feeling his body become limp and collapsing on me. Pushing him off, I got up and screamed at the loud boom. An Eraser was on the ground with a bullet wound. Zach was standing over his body seemingly to be breathing heavily.

I saw his lips moving but I couldn't make out what he was saying. The ringing of the gun shot pierced my ears. I finally made out what he was saying. "I think I'm injured," I said quietly, then falling to the forums once again. Screaming, I grabbed my leg. Blood was everywhere. Skin was torn and it confined to gush out the red fluid. A tear ran down my face. "I don't know if I can walk," I whimpered in pain.

We were about to head deeper into the woods when we heard noises. "We're being stalked Erasers probably, so get ready to bolt." said Winter. I nodded. But we were too late. 6 Erasers surrounded us almost instantly. One was already on Winter. I didn't know what to do. Save them. Make sure they get out of here quickly. It doesn't matter if make it or not, they are the priority.

Not quite thinking, I set to help Winter out. But I was surrounded by 3 Erasers. All bulky and ready to attack. I looked at Winter She'll be fine I thought. One Eraser jumped on me, but I easily dodged it. I the other two came right after. I had one right where I wanted it, and I punched him square in the face. He landed flat on the ground.

The other two weren't slowing down. One came running at me, and knocked me over. I landed flat on my back, but I got up. Without noticing one of them sank their teeth into my forearm. I winced in pain. Grabbed him, and threw him against a tree trunk. He didn't get up.

With an injured arm, I tried taking the other two down. One I recognized. This guy had pestered me since I was a young experiment. He came at me, and punched me. I had a gash in my lip. I'm NOT dying like this. I didn't come this far to die like this. I shook my head, and got the other one, and threw him against the one Winter was fighting. With 2 down, I had one more to go.

Facing the last one, I looked at him. A shining gun was in his right coat pocket. I forced myself to run and rammed him into the nearest tree. I punched him repeatedly, hoping that it would knock him out. But it didn't, it only angered him.

He took out his gone and pointed it at me. A smirk playing his lips. "Say goodbye kid, this is the last time you'll ever breath." Laughing he pointed the gun, but he wasn't expecting me to run and try to take it away from him.

We fought for it, and out of the nothing a shot was fired. His body grew limp, and he went down. I heard Winter and Caroline scream. I let the Erasers body drop. And looked if the bullet had grazed me. But the only pain that I felt was in my forearm.

"I'm okay. How are you guy holding up?" I didn't need them to answer, we had taken all the guys out ourselves.

The way she talked made me think of an abused cat. She hesitated a lot and she was nervous. Made me feel sorry for her. Some of us either turn into nervous wracks, brainwashed or have trust issues thanks to those white coats. I kept my distance as she talked mostly with Zachary at first. Even though I felt sorry for her I felt annoyed by her mostly. Maybe because I didn't want her to take all of Zachary's attention. After all he was and is my only friend.

Not wanting to pay much attention to it I stared up at the sky. I can see a few stars twinkling through the tree leaves. I love the night sky. The moon, the stars, the peacefulness almost makes you think nothing could go wrong. Trying not to listen into their conversation I thought about many things. One in particular. Winter Rivers... sounds pretty but it was completely random. Zane that lame brain director of all the white coats gave her that name. He figured she deserved a name since she was one of few almost flawless experiments.

Winter was a season and Rivers is a body of multiple waters. Though Rivers has a nice ring to it. Winter not so much. I have read in a book once about a river called the Jordan River. I like the name Jordan. In fact I looked up the varies of spellings of the name. You know what I am changing my name! Hearing the word Winter makes me think of him! So I will for now on call myself Jordyn. That spelling is quite girly. Which I am not much of... girly. So not me.. in a way.

Before I could announce it Caroline, I somewhat listened in and heard her mention her name, came over and sat by me. I wanted to scoot away but before I could see started rambling on about things. Not wanting to so any rudeness, even though I was going to move away, I stayed put. Smiling weakly to what she was saying, nodding here and there. I hardly got a word in. For someone who was running for her life moments ago she is quick to adjust. I just wished she would stay quiet.

Just then she said something Zachary which made me blush. Why was I blushing? I don't know but it didn't make me feel any better. Then Zachary came over offering to take watch. I wasn't so sure we should make camp so near town. Not after hearing all those sounds which sounded like orders being given out. I pondered on what to do for a slip minute before coming to a conclusion.

"We need to head further into the woods." I started to say. When I heard a snap of a twig. My heart sank. My body froze. And I listened. As I did so I could hear other sounds. Bushing being brushed up against. Quiet foot steps coming closer to out location.

Whispering softly I said. "We're being stalked. Erasers most likely. get ready to bolt." As soon as I said that six Erasers jumped in around us. Running towards us at full speed. I got up pushing Caroline aside when an Eraser headed towards her.

Then within moments another Eraser tackled me while I was getting up. He punched me on the face attempting to knock me out. But it didn't work. I tasted blood in my mouth. I spat it at his face then kicked him off me before I took another blow. Zachary was surrounded by three Erasers I wanted to help but two were gaining on me while the last one went for Caroline.

My thoughts were. Great things we going smoothly until she arrived. Even if she didn't meant to lead them here, she left obvious tracks to follow. I couldn't stay mad her for very long. As of right now my anger was toward the Erasers. Whenever they are around we have to fight them in order to stay alive. Unless they were given orders to leave us alone. But since we escaped that's a whole other story. Killing us would be more thrilling then bringing us back alive.

(And here's the fight scene!)

Caroline. I nodded while she told me info. She didn't seem as a potential threat, nor did I mind her hanging about with us. Wasn't too sure on Winter's part. For all I know she could care less about the girl. I looked at the girl while she told us her story. Seeing as how she was older looking then Winter. I didn't mind it. If she was older then me then that was something. I nodded when she finished talking.

A hug was what she rewarded me with. I wasn't too sure if I should hug her back or not, but I didn't suppose it would be bad in doing so. I gave her a friendly hug back and saw her run to Winter. If Caroline was like us, then that meant there was possibly more experiments. I didn't want to think of the fact that there where more combinations. It was bad enough to have Erasers, I didn't want a mutant of some other sort.

Giving Winter and Caroline some room, I got my backpack and leaned against a tree trunk. Digging what I was searching for in my bag made me happy. I opened a granola bar. Biting it, I looked at Winter and Caroline. Caroline was more of a... opened person. Even though she barely met us... she seemed to have trust in us. Winter.. on the other side, was more of a closed person.

I looked between them, and wondered what they were talking about. I wasn't going to ask though. I was about to ask if they wanted a bar, when Winter turned red. Probably something Caroline said. Caroline giggled, and brushed Winter's arm slightly. No matter what was the reason, I was glad at least they were getting along.

We walked a bit after that. Making sure we weren't followed anymore. Winter was quite in the small walk, while Caroline seemed to be chatty. I kept a few paces behind to give them their room. We found a small cave like hole. It wasn't too deep in, just good enough to keep a bear or 2 out of rain. Caroline didn't wait to nap.

"I can watch, if you want Winter. I don't have a problem with that. You can rest with Caroline."

As I ran, I noticed figures getting closer. At this point I didn't care if they caught me. There was no why of getting away. A man and a girl stood a few feet away. In seconds, my body collided with a heard surface. Stumbling, I looked up frightened at the man that towered over me and threw his hand over my mouth to stop me from screaming. Watching the guy spread wings, a huge sigh of relief came out and I nodded to the guy, waiting for him to take him hand off my mouth. If he kept it there any longer, I probably would've bitten off a finger or two. My hazel eyes started to water again.

Hearing him speak was odd. It wasn't the same gruff voice I've heard for years, but, a nicer, friendlier tone. "I'm Caroline," I shuttered, lowering my eyes to the ground, trying my best to avoid eye contact. A few moments later, I explained everything to Zach. Well, mostly everything. I left out the part about Kedron as I couldn't deal with the pain and simply, it wasn't any of his business. I gave him a small smile and gave him a very quick side hug and slowly walked towards the girl, Winter.

"Hello," I said shyly, looking away from Winter. I stuttered, "I-, I-, I-, I hope I'm not an issue. I-, I, can lea-, leave if- if I need to." My skin tone became flushed as her cold words hit me. "I don't want to cause trouble," I commented as I sat down in front of her. "Look, I didn't plan on running into you guys. Frankly, I don't want to even be here. A Umm- friend of mine told me to go find you and stay hidden. So, I guess it's more practical to stay together." I spent about an hour talking with the girl. Laughing, giggling..., she didn't seem so bad. By the looks of it, she didn't mind me as much as I thought she would.

Changing the subject, a serious look appeared on my face. "So, Zach, huh?" I watched her try to hide herself blushing. "Oh come on!" I yelled and Zach looked over, and I giggled and nudged Winter. "Whatever you say, girl!" I joked, throwing my hands up in the air in defense. As it got darker, we settled down into a huge nestlike collection of trees. As my eyes got tired, I whispered to Winter. "Goodnignt- and thank you for everything."

Its been around two hours since Zachary and I made it back into the wood. I took the time to go through my items packing them a little more properly. Clothes in the back pocket, necessary items in the pocket before it. This way I am not having hard items rubbing into my back while flying. Once I figured out where things should be located I hung my bag on a broken branch, low enough to reach. This way it was off the ground. I don't have night vision so if I ended up needing to use the woods as a bathroom or I needed to stretch out my legs there could be a chance of me tripping over the bag.

Moments later Zachary called me over. I was a little hesitated at first but I walked over sitting on the stomp with him. He then held up a hoodie. He offered to me saying it is large enough to hide my wings but snug enough to keep me warm. I wanted to tell him that I already snagged a hoodie from the store I robbed but he was nice enough to think of me so I couldn't bring myself to say it. I took the hoodie from him as he passed over to me. My checks grew warm by his kind gesture. I am glad to have met someone like him. I have only met one other person besides him who showed me kindness. So, its hard to show my gratitude.

Just when I was about to say thank you the sound of shouting nearby caused the words to freeze in my throat. I stood up out of instinct making my way to my bag. Just then Zachary placed himself in between me and something else. My heart raced not knowing what was happening until I saw a young girl running toward us. She looked panicked. I didn't notice anything else about her until she bumped right into Zachary. Why he didn't move out of the way or push her aside annoyed me.

Then I saw them. Wings! This girl has wings. "She's... like us." I blurted out. Zachary nodded in agreement before introducing himself. I kept my distance. I wanted to walk up to Zachary so I could give him a good whack on the back of the head. Of all things! Here he is giving out his name to some cute girl who appeared out of no where!!

Part of me told me to run and leave the girl. For what if she is an enemy or maybe she was here to lure us out so the white coats could catch us. Though the other part of me told me to take action and help this girl out. She could be another run away like us. It was hard to figure out since we only had just met her a second ago.

I pulled my bag down from where it hung, forcing the hoodie Zachary gave me inside. Then I pulled the straps over my shoulders. The bag was perfect. It settled at the center of my back giving room for my wings to move. My wings weren't ready to fly yet, but I didn't mind hiking all night further into the woods to avoid being caught. From where we were located if not careful we can be noticed. I didn't want to take that chance. By the look of things with Zachary and the terrified new girl it didn't seem that they were in a big hurry. So, I slumped down onto the ground sitting crisscrossed applesauce, folding my arms across my chest as if I were a pouting child. Though my facial expression just hinted that I was annoyed with the situation.

I nodded to what Winter had said. Once again she didn't wait for my response and started heading the way we came. Once in the woods I felt at ease. Maybe it wasn't the right feeling, but at least I wasn't feeling anxious anymore. We took several steps.

Reaching a stomp, I called to Winter, and said "I found a hoodie on the store. It may be a few sizes bigger than you, but I think it's for the best, since a normal hoodie will show your wings. My jacket fits you a bit too snug, and it might make you uncomfortable." Her cheeks turned a bright pink color. She was about to speak when we heard commotion.

We peeked through a few bushes. A man was yelling orders at several others. A long was an Eraser. I wasn't going to wait, but the Eraser wasn't moving. The man yelling told the others to move, and other man threw the Eraser's body inside a white van, similar to the one we were in before.

My instinct was to flee, since we were outnumbered, but as I looked closer. I saw a girl hiding in a bush. I wasn't too sure if she was enemy or if she was something else. She stood there for a few moments.

She kept running towards me and Winter. I reacted by putting myself first, if this was an Eraser I could take her. That would buy Winter sometime to run. As the girl came closer her shape seemed to get bigger. Something about her was off.

Dragging behind her where her wings. As she ran, she bumped into me head on. I looked at her Hazel eyes. Her light brown hair was a mess. She was about to scream when I cupped her mouth. I spread my wings, showing her we were on the same side. Winter came out behind me, her eyes big in shock.

"She's... like us.." Winter said. I nodded and said "Not sure why they are creating more experiments, but whatever the reason is we all have to stick with each other." I looked at the girl, who's eyes where tearing up already. I looked at her and said "Look... we aren't here to harm you, we are on the same side. I'm going to let go of you, but don't scream. If you do... we'll be back in dog crates and needles in us." She nodded as I let go of her.

"I'm Zachary, but you can call me Zacky, that over is Winter. What's your name?"

I watched as Kedron left. A wave of emptiness came over me and I attempted to look over the dark filled room. I was alone once again. For some obscure reason, I felt safe with Kedron around. Maybe it was because I knew he wouldn't let anyone else touch me. Or, maybe it was the fact that I'm so used to only having him around.

After seeing him come back, I nervously glared as he laid down, facing away from me. Why didn't he want to look at me? Was he scared I would yell at him again; or was there a possibility of him feeling something? I chucked at the thought. Yeah right, how could he possibly feel that way? It's not like he has real emotions for anything. Heck, I was locked up in the godforsaken dog cage! To stressed to think anymore, I drifted off to sleep. An image of a girl and a boy appeared in my head. They were in what looked like a small town, carefully looking at every inch and corner like they were afraid of something. Something was off. By the looks of the two, they were in poor condition, and I knew those injection scars anywhere. Were they like me? A howl closed in and snarls lashed out at me. Screaming, I-

Heavy footsteps awoke me with a sudden gasps for breath, causing me to place a hand on my heart. I knew this wasn't good because no one else ever came into, well, wherever I was. Growling, I huffed and moved to the front of the cage, trying to hear what the two men were talking about. I couldn't quite hear what they were saying. These horrid walls were practically soundproof to me. Another set of footsteps made their way down the stairs. I quickly moved to the back of my cage in fear.

As the huge metal door opened, Kedron appeared. Something about his facial expression stopped me from making a small smile. Rather than doing so, I crouched as tight as I could against the back of the bars. My ears picked up a low whisper from his voice. He was telling me to get out. I didn't understand. As he pointed to the window, I looked over curiously. He was now shouting at me that I needed to run. The cage door opened, and large hands took hold around me, ripping my almost lifeless body out of the cage. Being pushed, he yelled 'Go,' then disappeared through the door.

My head was spinning. I wasn't clear on what was happening. Part of myself hoped this was all a dream, but, the other half felt excited that I would actually be free for once. I attempted to spread out my wings, however, seeing there was no time, I quickly climbed out the small window, and bolted towards to nearby trees. I face planted as I reached the tall grass. Gasping for air, I almost didn't realize Zane was standing a few feet away from me. Throwing my hand over my mouth, I moved back, staring through the nearby trees. Some men hurried out of the building, dragging something. Looking closer, it was Kedron! Tears rolled down my pale face, and I watched them throw him into the white van. Something in me wanted to help him. I knew I was too week to handle that many white coats. After watching them leave, I memorized the plate numbers and kept repeating them. Then it hit me. My heart stopped as I thought- the last word he said to me was "go." Maybe he really did care about me. Just maybe he didn't want to see me get hurt. Quietly moving away from the brush, I darted the opposite direction, not looking back. I may've not been looking back to see the past, but, I was looking forward... for Kedron. He wanted this.

Zachary choose to separate to gather up supplies. I was alright with it. I am kinda curious to see what type of supplies he will get. Usually people will go for similar items when their together. Separately, a bit of the same yet different. Soon we decided to part ways the gears in my head were already turning. I made a mental note on what I would like to snag. And other possibilities. Zachary had taken the store on the left, I took the one across. Both stores looked to be easy targets. Small town, a handful of stores easy pickings. Look at me two days free and already I am thinking like a criminal. Oddly, I don't feel guilty about it. Even though I should.

I walked up to the store as if it were a normal shopping day. No one was around to see me though. I peered through the windows checking for any trip wires, alarms, cameras etc. I couldn't see anything of the sort. A little surprising since most days now everything has something to do with security. The doors were locked, so walking right on in was out of the option. And with how my wings are at the moment flying to the roof to find a hatch to a skylight. Luckily, I have an a secret weapon when it comes to things like this. Though every time I used that ability of mine I would be guided blind folded to a room.

I can't teleport without knowing where I am going. If I would attempt doing so part of me or all of me will be stuck inside a wall. I saw a spot in the store, wide and empty. I focused on that spot. My nerves tensed up, I could feel my body feeling lighter. Then everything seemed to move in a blur when I kept still. Next thing I knew I was inside the store. Teleporting has it's perks and drawbacks. Every time I use this ability of mine it makes me sleepy. After a few minutes the sleepiness would fade away. Now if I use this talent of mine too much I will pass out from exhaustion.

Now to get down to business! I browsed through the rows of selves eyeing what there was. I spotted backpacks hanging in the back of the store. I grabbed a navy blue one with gray straps. Its perfect in size, has a lot of storage space. Two big compartments in the back, three little ones on the front. Now that I have a bag I went back through the rows. Grabbing items I thought necessary. I am not worried about organizing the bag so it didn't look like such a mess. I will do that later. I grabbed a pair of woman's hiking boots, I tired them on. They are wonderful compared to being bare footed.

Two shorts, two jeans, a pack of socks, two tanks tops, a hooded sweater, and a blanket all packed away inside the biggest pocket. The second largest pocket I threw in a skillet, matches, first aide kit and a variety of food. Before adding in more I weighed the bag in one hand then on my back. I am stronger than a normal human but I still do have my limits. Seeing it not that heavy I added a few more items. Such as a flashlight, batteries that go with it, a map, and a canteen.

Pleased with what I got I exited through the from the front door. I unlocked it of course. No alarms went off thank goodness. I could have used my teleport ability but I didn't ware myself out any further. When I walked outside Zachary was just leaving the store he was in. Both of us seem to pretty in-sync. Which I found a little weird.

"All set?" I asked him walking up to him. "I hope you don't mind that we walk a bit. I am pretty sure by tomorrow my wings will be okay again." Saying this I took lead once again, I headed back towards the woods from where came.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After scaring the girl a bit Kedron walked upstairs having an odd feeling. He's been sensing it since he saw those two teens out on the street. He peered out the window. He saw nothing but he watched the outside world for about ten minutes before heading back down stairs. Kedron felt tired, bored and restless. He plotted himself back onto cot. He laid down back turned to the girl. He stared at the wall like many times before. In moments he feel asleep.
He was woken up by sounds of foot steps up stairs. He awoke instantly. Sitting up he sniffed the air. A familiar scent sent a chill down his spine. Knowing that it was him. Kedron went up stairs to greet him. Even though he didn't feel like doing so. If he doesn't act like a perfect dog then he'll end up under the knife. Once up stairs he looked outside, still dark. Maybe midnight?
"Good evening Director Zane." Kedron greeted.
"Good evening there Kerdon, sorry to have woken you up but I have a job for you." Zane said going though some paper work left out on the counter. "We have a situation, two of our avian experiments escaped. Not on their own. The van that was transporting them lost control and went over a cliff." Zane paused eyeing Kedron to see if he were paying attention.
"You want me to hunt them down for you?" Kedron smiled wickedly. He's been held up here for so long this was a good excuse to leave.
"Not exactly, I want you to get the avian girl down stairs and bring her up here." Zane said seriously. "The two that escaped are being tracked as we speak, but it's taking too long for we have planned. I need the girl."
Hearing theses words Kedron felt his heart stop. Why do they need her. And why does he feel pity for the weak thing. He swallowed down his words then headed down stairs to fetch the girl. He walked slowly but steadily. Once at the bottom he walked over to the small window that lit the entire basement. He opened it as much as it can go. Then he approached the cage. He knelt down, opened it.
He stared her down trying to figure out what heck why he is doing this. "Listen." He began to whisper. "Zane is here. And he wants you. I know for a fact it ain't good. So, you better get out of here." He told her honestly pointing at the small window. "I know you might not be able to fly yet, so run! Run as fast as you can. There are two avian kids out there somewhere. I want you to find them." He said yanking her out of the cage and pushing her towards the window. "Go!" he shouted before heading back upstairs to distract Zane.
Once upstairs he wasn't sure if she left or not. Zane looked at Kedron with questioning eyes. "Well, where is she?" He asked.
"Gone." Kedron said. "She escaped just a moment ago. I will hound her down for you if you command it." Zane straight face turned sour, he wasn't happy. But then his poker face returned. He didn't say a word. Instead he pulled out a shot from his jacket. Walked up too Kedron. Kedron's heart pounded. Felt a pitch in his neck then everything went dark.
Which store to rob. Hmm. Both looked appealing. I think if we went separate ways we might get something. Or at least something to keep us fed and alright for a couple of nights.
"Defiantly Separate ways, We will take more ground if we split. Grab whatever we need. Water and Granola Bars will have to do for food. If you think you heard something then get out. We will meet here in 10 minutes." She nodded in agreement.
I took the left store. I checked first for any alarms, nothing was there. So I broke the window with my jacket wrapped in one of my hands. Right away I spotted a backpack. I took it, and put a weeks worth of water and granola bars in it. I searched for a first aid kid, just in case we needed one. I found one close to a counter that had blades. I took one just in case. Last but not least I thought of Winter.
The fact that she got cold in the middle of the night, I put a dark colored hoodie in my backpack. A brush and a small bottle of shampoo bottle was added just in case. One small bottle of Advil and I was good to go.
I headed out, waiting for Winter. Wondering if she was doing ok. Occasionally wondering if I should go in for her, or just wait. I calmed myself down, when I saw her with a backpack as well. A slow smile spread on my lips.
It was cold. The metal from the cage I was held, made me shiver with discomfort; goosebumps all over my shaking arms. I couldn't get comfortable, but, would I ever feel the safety and comfort of an actual bed instead of this dog cage? The question took a moment to enter my thought process... While I simply answered- no. Leaning up against the back of the cage, I positioned myself into a little safety ball, wrapping my pale arms around my legs, while resting my head on my arms. The sudden absence of darkness was replaced by the blinding bright lights. Squinting my hazel eyes and moving my light brown hair from my face, I tried to see who had entered my facility to poke and probe me with more needles and tests.
A sigh of relieve came out when I noticed it was just Kedron. He was the Eraser who looked after me. Now that I think about it, he is only one I've really ever known, in a matter of speaking. I watched him carefully as he looked over me, placing a sinful grin on his smug face. My eyes reflected in the light as I followed him walking to his cot to sit down. Something was slightly off about him today, or, tonight. Heck, I didn't even know the time of day. I've been locked up here for what seems like years. I watched my captor in curiosity, attempting to connect with his thoughts.
After a good ten minutes, I got bored of trying and shifted in my cage. Glancing back up, I looked over Kedron. His perfectly perfect hair style, his muscles rippling throughout his body.... The jade green t-shirt he was wearing showed off his abs a little to much, I laughed to myself. A sudden turn of his head engendered me to flinch, moving back to my normal position. His laugh was cutting through my skin like razor blades. Growling, I spat at him. "Why in the hell are you laughing?" I questioned, yelling through the steel bars of the cage. His face became serious.
I tightened myself as much as I could within the cage to get away from Kedron. I screeched in pain. His large hands grasped a chunk of my light colored hair and pulled with pleasure. "Stop," I managed to squeal. Tears ran down my face as his released his grasp and lowered himself closer to the cage. My head was pounding. Kedron had never done that to me before. "Kedron..." I began, catching myself- "Sir," I flustered, "please forgive me." Closing up into a protective position, my hair fell once again into my face as salty tears poured from my eyes. Something in his voice made my feel a rush of heat.
Suddenly, something laid on my back under my white shirt. To terrified to move, I sat there not knowing what was about to occur. A hand proceeded to rub down my back, going over every inch of my wings. I shuttered in vexation. What was going on, I thought to myself quietly, trying my best to ignore the rough hands which were rubbing me. Wincing, he had gone over the spot where I had been knifed while attempting to escape. I growled in slight frustration. After a while, the pleasure moved away, and I opened my eyes. Kedron was standing next to the cage, staring at me. I quietly stared into his dark chocolate eyes, and blushed uncontrollably. Okay, so maybe I did have something for Kedron... Otherwise, why in sam's heck would I be blushing!
As we walked Zachary suggested taking breaks if we needed too. More like if I needed too. I kept my mouth shut. My wings are un-usable at the moment not my legs. You doo-doo head! i thought to myself. We walked for about two hours. Tracking through the woods wasn't terrible, it was a pretty easy track if anything. There were a few slopes we had to worry about but nothing major. Thanks to the long hike time passed quietly and quickly. Night came by fast by the time we reached the edge of the wood.
The town was small. People were still out and about since it was still too early in the evening. We hung out within the trees for a while longer. At least until things got quieter. When I was sure mostly everyone had gone off to bed. I folded my wings in tightly underneath my shirt. I then signaled Zachary to follow me. We walked quickly until we reached the town's border. There we slowed the pace down to the point where we wouldn't look suspicious. I was nervous. But at least I wasn't alone. Once we walked a few blocks in. I sighed with relief. We made in without being stopped or noticed. Now to pin point a store to rob. One that doesn't seem to have any security alarms and all the other bells and whistles.
We stopped when I notice two stores nearly across from each other. Both looked to be camping gear material. "Do you see a building that looks promising?" I asked Zachary quietly hoping for his impute. I didn't want to make the wrong move. "We need a store that a little bit of everything, so far I see two." I pointed them out. "We could each take one for both might have different supplies. Though it risky, I wouldn't mind giving it a try. What do you think stick together go our separate ways and meet back here in ten minutes?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The light started to fade away when Kedron finished his five book of the day. The library was closing soon so it was about time he left anyways. After placing the books he read back onto a random self he left swiftly eager to grab something to eat. He walked back to the diner since it was really the only place in town that serve three square meals place a snack or two. Soon he walked in all eyes were on him. As if he were sprayed by four skunks on the way over. He wasn't very liked in this town. No big deal. He's been stationed here for three months and already made an enemy of most of the town within the first week of being here.

He ordered his usual. Steak, potatoes and huge bowl of salad. He ate it all within a good amount time, before ordering a bowl of vanilla ice cream. A waitress came with his check. He paid in cash then left. In all that time he hadn't spoken a word other than too the waitress or telling people off if they approached him. He decided it was about time to head home to check in on his pet. She should be missing him terribly by now.

On his way home it was quiet. Not very many people out and about. He walked by a couple of teens looking as though there were lost. They were worn out clothing, and they looked as though they needed a wash. The guy followed behind the girl like a loyal puppy. As he passed them up he notice a familiar smell about the two. He paused for a moment to stare at them. Their smell reminded him of the lab. Could it be? There's no way? Squinting his eyes he walked onward. Glancing back a few times. Until he turned the corner. Two more blocks down he reached home. The vet clinic. Well it use to be until it shut down do to a newer being built sometime back. The owner of this place now owns the new building. This one was being rented out for space. That was four years ago. Now it's home too a small band of white coats and made into a small lab. The only experiment here is well hidden in the basement. His little pet.

Entering he noticed no one was here. The white coats had done home for the night. He sighed in relief for they would have given him grief about being gone all day when he was suppose to be looking after the girl. Kedron walked towards the back of the building before walking down a flight of stairs. He flipped on the switch peering into pet's cage. She was sitting toward the back of the cage, just like how he had left her. He knew she wouldn't escape. Not on her own anyways.

A grinned crept up on his face but he didn't say a word instead he walked over to his cot. Sat down on it. And stared for a minutes at the cage. Staring at the girl made him think of the two teens he passed by a little earlier. Bit by bit he started to piece everything together.

She squinted her eyes. Ok then flying isn't an option. Sorry for asking. She suggested that we walked. Which in all honesty didn't bother me. I was concerned about her wings. Even if she said they were bruised, I wasn't going to make her fly anyways. Walking would give us time to get there. At least with less humans asking questions. Not sure what we could do about our wings. Maybe hide them under our shirts. I had a jacket. She could borrow it. It was uncomfortable if you weren't used to it. Good thing I was. It was just a thought though.

"Walking it is" I said smiling back. "If you can't uh.. walk any longer, let me know. We'll take breaks in between." She looked at me and nodded and kept walking forward. The more we walked the darker it got. I kept my eyes opened for anything. Humans are one thing, animals and White Coats.. are another. Not to mention Erasers. We finally got to the town, and sure enough It was night time.

"Are you ready?" I asked Winter.

Zachary did what I had asked. Returning within only a few minutes. So there was a town. Only a short distance from where they stood. He talked about flying there. I wanted to swat him of the head for asking. But instead I squinted my eyes a bit to so show my annoyance. Thinking about it I don't think leaving now would be a good idea. It was still daylight. And I really don't have a way of hiding my wings easily. Zachary has his jacket he fold them uncomfortably tight under. With me, I only have a t-shirt. Even if I would hide them underneath it it would obvious.

Without saying a word I paced back and forward in front of him thinking. Within seconds I came up with a great plan. Though it required walking. Just when I finally get the freedom to fly where I want and however long my wings fail me.

"Flying isn't an option for me at the moment. I think that they are maybe bruised do to the crash yesterday. I hadn't realize it until we flew so much in the last two days. So, how do you feel about walking to town? By the time we get there the sun will almost be settling in for the night." I said pausing for a moment. Then I said something that was almost cliche. "Night time is crime time! And so let us thieve the night away." I said giving a weak smile, I should have kept that to myself.

She nodded. I let go of her. I watched her, wondering if she was lying about the fact that she felt ok. I didn't want to bother her, so I didn't ask. She walked forward a bit, no doubt she was still in an amount of pain. I guess if she can take the pain, then there's no need for me to be following her about like a lost puppy.

I knew there was water near by, I could hear it. I didn't know if it was deep or not. I saw Winter fade behind some trees. I wasn't going to go after her. Not unless she needed my help. I didn't hear anything but kept my mind open for any possibility. Without any remarks, I paced back and forth looking around for any sign of trouble.

There was a lot in my mind. Questions that I could perhaps never answer. Do we keep going? Does Winter have a broken wing? What will we eat? Will we have to relay on human help any time soon? I sighed. Life wasn't easy, but at least this was better than being stuck in a kennel.

After a few minutes, I see Winter. It looked like she had taken a leap in the water. Her hair was soaking wet, and so where her clothing. I tried not to stare, I didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable. She looked more relaxed. Still with a small pained looked, but not like before. I was about to ask her if everything was okay until she said "Can you fly up to see if you could spot a town? I know that is risky but we need supplies. When you find something, tell me please."

She added a smile after that. I nodded and flew up. Searching around I spotted a town close by. No doubt we were still near civilization. I came back down and told Winter, "There's a town about a mile or so from here. I can take the air if you want, but I'm not too sure if you are feeling well enough to be in the air." I waited for her to respond.
