Maximum Ride RP ~The Other Story~
Started By
This RP is already in progress please do not post any replies within this thread if you are not part of the RP!! You are more than welcome to read and enjoy. Thank you :3

Story Plot:

Somewhere out on the California coastline lays a secret base. It's in plain view, yet no one knows what goes on there. The scientists who run the place have been rushing about. Gathering data, whispering among themselves keeping information hush hush. Causing some worry among other groups living within the base. Mainly the experiments who often have to deal with the white coats--scientists--daily.

Something was surely up. Especially when the Erasers are minding their manners. For several days this has been going on. Until a strange calmness filled the building. The next morning the Erasers hulled off several of the experiments. Few were loaded into armed vans while others were taken elsewhere in the building.

Our character(s) were the ones being transported. To where we don't know. Why? That's also a mystery. That's something we will all find out soon, for now let us hope that we survive to see tomorrow!!

Things We Need to Know:

This RP will be taking place in North America. Where they will end up depend on our replies. Our characters will be traveling mostly within the Pacific Area (California, Oregon, Washington etc). From there will travel east. Along the way Erasers and white coats will be hunting us down. To avoid being found they will keep themselves out of site unless supplies are needed. Or certain situations will force them to enter populated areas.

In the meantime, our characters will get a chance to get know one another. It maybe a good thing or a bad thing. Who knows!? Our characters will learn new skills, meet new people and find things about themselves they never knew about. As well as to why the white coats, Erasers and bird kids exist!

Mutant Bird Kids: 98% human, 2% avian (bird). Bone structure is lighter enabling them to fly, heavier bones would have proven to be a problem. Their wings are quite large. When stretched out they appear longer than their body. Example: Bird Kid height- 5'6" Wing Span: Roughly 14 feet. On some occasions the mutations within the bird kid evolve causing them to gain new abilities such walking through walls, turning invisible, talking to animals etc.

Erasers: Human-wolf hybrids. Most of the time they take on human form but when on the attack or on the hunt they'll appearance takes on a more wolfish look. Almost like you modern day werewolf. Almost all of them have nasty jerk like personalities. A handful have the thirst for blood. Erasers are the White Coats lackeys. So trusting one of them is a high level risk, better to avoid.

White Coats: Scientist who enjoy experimenting on other humans. They have labs all across the globe, most hidden some in plain sight. Not all White Coats are evil beings, some are out to help improve the world's existence yet those who they poke and probe don't see it that way. In any case all are crazy in the head.

The warmth from the sun felt so nice against my pale skin. I stood there for a seconds, to maybe a few minutes. Hard to tell since I had gotten too absorbed with this new experience. The fresh air, the touch of the grass, the sights all of this is new. New can maybe a good thing, but then again maybe not. Also, sometimes new things keep you distracted from what's happening around you.

A small sound of movement caught my attention. I went on full alert. Could it be that one of the Erasers had actually survived that crash? It almost seemed impossible. Yet, I had survived. So, there could be a chance... one might have lived through that ordeal as well. The Eraser should be injured. There could be a chance that I can fight it off!

Slowly, I turned around. As I turned I saw a tall figure staring down at me from a distance. My heart began to race. He didn't look like any Eraser I have ever laid eyes upon before. This one has wings! Just like me! Is it possible. I never knew that there could be anyone who had wings as well.

I stood firm, though my legs were jellied from nerves. Questions filled my head. Is he friendly? Or is he foe? And where did he come from? Was he the other experiment they brought along in the van? To have these questions answered I need to ask him myself.

Clearing my throat, I slowly unfolded my wings. They had been tightly folded underneath my clothes to protect them from the Erasers if they chose to tease me by grabbing at them. Doing so I hoped that he will see that I am not dangerous. For we are the same.

"Hello," I began to say. "Are you friend? Or are you foe?" After asking I held two fists up and went into a fight stance. I gave him a hard stare showing him I meant business if he chose to attack.

Not knowing where I was made me upset, All I knew was that I was no longer stuck in that building. All I have been smelling is metal, Erasers and something else, I just couldn't quite figure it out. I knew there was at least 1 to 6 Erasers. They weren't that hard to tell, at least from the smell. But they did all have one thing in common, Which was them smelling pretty bad. I was trying to figure out why I was being moved. I mean there had been a lot more investigation over the week, but it all seemed pretty normal to me. And there's the part of me not being alone here. I can't help but think that there's someone or something in here with me. I know I'm not going crazy, at least I don't think I am.

Being stuck here made me anxious above all. What if I was going somewhere worse? Sure It wouldn't be as worse as the building I was previously in. I heard something next to me. There was something next to me. Maybe an animal? Or... another of my own kind? I heard it struggle against the kennel, out of nowhere I heard the sound of something hitting metal. What was it doing? Even if it's my own kind, it's kind of dumb to be making noise. Erasers aren't such a big fan of this. But to my surprise, the Erasers didn't do anything. No yelling or even their usual grunting. Well, that's something. I didn't hear anything else along the way.

Debating what to do, I decided to just stay quite. Whatever it had been, it didn't matter. I'm not risking my life, just because I'm curios. There's always the saying "Curiosity killed the cat" in my case, it would be Avian kid. I tried to relax, letting my mind flow. But even then, I couldn't help but think I wasn't safe here. Even if I was away from the place I was in.

Some time later.

I had fallen asleep. how the heck did I manage? I have no clue. I awoken from all the bumping around in my Kennel. Where we still on the road or was it on dirt now? Dang it! I should have stayed awake, just in case. There was no use on me getting mad at myself, all I knew was that the road was so dang bumpy I had to grasp my metal bars. No light shined were I was, so I had no clue if it was still morning or mid day. I just knew it was hot, and I was sweating.

After a while the bumpy road seem to keep on going, but then all of the sudden it stopped. Finally! I should have kept my thought to myself. Shouldn't have been too eager on this change. I saw everything flipping and sliding, hitting and clashing. I held on to the metal bars as hard as I could, which didn't really help,

I was surprise I didn't bruise up too badly, scratches here and there, but nothing was broken. The white thing that was on my cage was no longer there. I could see where I had been, at least a few moments ago. I had been in a van, with no windows, so that explains the light and heat. I looked around to see if there was something else, but all I saw was the van fully crushed and dead Erasers. Which trust me I was too happy about. Smoke was all behind me. Couldn't really see clearly. So I waited.

The smoke cleared, and then I saw how horrible it looked. Well, more then I had seen before. I was so glad to be alive. I moved the handle to my kennel, and with a small pop it clicked open. The air smelled to good and there was grass beneath me, or so I thought. I couldn't be more happier. Even if I hadn't survived this wreck, at least I would have been free. But Alas, I was alive and enjoying this. A little far too much, but I didn't care.

I dusted my pants off, glad to see all the Erasers where dead. Except something else now had my attention. The other kennel... I wasn't.. alone. I looked closer and saw something outside the kennel. I'm not alone... I never was... I was about to take off, until I saw it turn.

My stomach felt it was turned upside down as my nervousness grew. Erasers all around me. Seeing them, smelling them makes me sick. I rested my chin onto my knees crossing my arms over my eyes trying to avoid the situation at hand. Luckily the Erasers were ignoring me for the time being. An hour went by; I sat in the same position. Thinking on what may be going and how I should go about it. Eventually I unfolded my arms from around my face. I instinctively looked up hoping to see a glimpse of the outside world as it passed by. My attempt failed for their weren't any windows. I sighed heavily, disappointed.

The van was fairly small on the inside. It looked larger before. The Erasers had to bend their heads forward slightly in order to sit comfortably. The more I looked around I realized something I should have thought of before. Despite there being four Erasers inside the van. I could somehow... fight them off. Escaping this depressing life style. I do have a special talent to help me with the escape. Yet, the idea still seemed to far fetched. I glanced over at the crate next to mine. It was covered with a white tarp. Making me wonder who or what was behind it. If it were another experiment he or she might want help to escape. Or, maybe they won't out of fear. I wanted to speak, if I spoke would the person reply back?

Torn on what to do I kicked the crate bars firmly causing a loud metal sound to echo throughout the van. The Erasers flinched at my sudden action. Irritated expressions came across their faces. And for a moment I thought they were going react. But yet they did nothing. I blinked in surprise. This was a first. Normally, I would get shouted at or they were yank on my arm until it nearly breaks. I could tell that they wanted too but the Erasers forced themselves to remain put.

Two hours later...

I stretched out my legs as far as they could go trying to find a more comfortable position. This ride was dragging on too long. It was a smooth ride up until the van took a sharp turn onto a bumping road. Causing me to loose some of my balance. I gripped onto the bars of my crate tightly to keep from flopping around. This went on for several minutes. My hands were turning raw from holding on. The road got worse the further we traveled. To the point that both crates started to bounce around. Knocking into each other and into the Erasers. Which was starting to piss them off. I could tell by the gritting of their teeth.

Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse the van halted. Nothing seemed to happen. My body felt like it was being lifted by some forced then it stank as if I were falling. Everything paused in that moment. Then everything started to spinning and crush before my eyes.

My head ached from hitting it hard. I was unconscious for a short few minutes. Blood trickled off my chin from the head injury I received. The smokey haze burned my throat and eyes. My body ached all over as I crawled on my hands and knees trying to feel the all too familiar cold metal sensation. What I grasped surprised me. To the point my whole body shook in shock. I was touching grass. I brushed my hand along the top of the grass. It tickled. I never seen grass before but I knew what it was. Thanks to reading and seeing pictures of the outside world whenever I had gotten a chance too.

The smoke start to clear. My eyes stopped watering. I looked around wondering how I ended up here. Behind me I saw a horrifying sight. The van scattered to bits. Erasers mangled in the wreckage. My body shuddered. How... how did I manage to survive. Could I have used my ability at the last second or did my crate provided some protection. Then it dawned on me. I am free! I was freed by a mere accident.

I stumbled onto my feet gazing up at the blue sky. Tears flowed from my eyes once again, not from the smoke but from feeling all too happy. Forgetting about one important thing. I wasn't alone.

Morning.Or so I believed. Not so sure anymore. Can't tell the time, since they don't have clocks upon the white walls. Not liked I care either way, it was like a cycle in here. Same old boring stuff, over and over again. I didn't think anything would happen today, because well nothing interesting ever happens here. Yet... I felt something within me telling me other wise. But then again, I'm always over thinking. Not sure whether to feel agitated by all of this or go through the motion, as I always do. Mind as well just sit and wait everything out. Either way, that's all I can ever do.

How...unusual. No needles where poked inside yesterday. It was... rather pleasant, even if it lasted for a few hours. But the "boring coats", as I like to call them, didn't come back till today. Thinking about it, they just fed me and made sure I was in an "excellent state." I didn't have much to do, since i'm stuck in a steel "dog kennel" as I like to think of them. They were "kind" enough to at least give me something that I had asked for before, paper and pencil. I'm the type of person that likes to draw in my spare time, which is all the time. I started drawing and picturing how the sky looked. How good the smell was, at least better then this nasty steel smell. Never seen the sky though, so my imagination wasn't at it's peak. I decided to scrap that drawing and started drawing what I saw across the room. Which was easy because across the room are mainly more dog kennels. I did wonder if there was anything inside of them. Never thought of thinking to say something, since honestly you couldn't hear anything but endless pressing of keyboard keys and slurping of coffee. Finally I had reached my limit of drawing, so I dropped my pencil and paper and leaned back. What could happen? Nothing. So I decided to take a nap.

I awoke by the God awful smell of Erasers around my kennel. I was wondering if it was in fact true that yesterday wasn't a poking day, but today was. I hated the though. I didn't want anything in my skin. I had already several bruises. All because I apparently "don't" stand still. I tried to peek out of my kennel, but the moment I tried to was too late. The Eraser laughed as he threw a white blanket-like thing over me. I couldn't see anything but the floor. I sighed in frustration. If I was going to get more needles in me, someone would defiantly see the bad side of me.

It seemed like a good 5-10 minutes of them rolling me around in the crate. I had been taking in so many directions I didn't know where I was. I heard them whispering, but it was too low for me to catch the words they were saying. Ouch! I thought. What the hell?! I turned around to see a needle being injected to my lower back. All of the sudden I couldn't stay awake. My eyes wouldn't keep themselves open and I fell asleep.

I didn't know how long I was out. All I knew is that I was no longer in the building. I could tell by the bright light and the fact that the floor was no longer tile, which got replaced by cement. It no longer smelled like... Death, I guess you can say. It smelled like outside. Fresh. Clean. A smell I would never get tired of. But I knew too well this wasn't going to last long. I heard voices, all around me. All too different for me to even acknowledge what they were saying. If only this blanket thing was off my crate.

Moments pass, and I felt my kennel being moved. But... it moved upward. What the? Was I going to another building? What was going on? Where was I? I heard another thing being rolled next to me. Was that another kennel? No. I doubt it. Probably something else. An engine started and I heard doors slam shut. I'm.. in a car? Could be a truck. Or a plane. (sigh) At least, this is better than being in there. Or so I hope

It was early morning, don't tell how I know but I know. Like some kind internal instinct built inside of me. The quietness of the lab gave me chills down my spine. It's been a day since I last saw another being. Which is unusual. I am kept in a cell apart from the others somewhere underground. Isolated and away from sunlight. The white coats often visit me often throughout the day. Hence is why I am wigged out.

At first I was glad they didn't appear yesterday. Seeing their ugly mugs tend to ruin one's mood. I sat in my usual spot near the back of the cell thinking. When you are cooped up in here for most of your life thinking is all that you ever do. My thoughts revolved around the idea that they are up to something. And it's never anything good. For the next two hours I waited. Boredom took the better of me so now I was trying to keep track for how long I can do a headstand without passing out. Seven minutes seems to be all I can tolerate. Eventually I grew bored of attempting of doing so.

Not long after the first sign of what I feared eventually appeared. Two Erasers came through the door rolling in a metal crate. They stopped before my cell with annoying grins on their faces. My body stiffened up seeing them. I can handle white coats just fine but Erasers... in all honesty they terrify me. I was beaten up pretty badly by one when I was younger. Since then fear takes over. And they know this.

I glared at them fiercely for what felt like several minutes. No words were exchanged. They beamed in delight. Enjoying the sight of me trying to act all tough is entertainment to them. The next thing I knew they ripped open my cell door pulled me out and stuffed me into the crate. All within a few seconds. I didn't have time to react.

They quickly rolled me away from where they came. Down all too familiar halls. I bit my lower lip from frustration. It didn't take long until the crate stopped. I looked up to find myself near a van. White coats, Erasers and other experiments surrounded the van. White coats were going through their papers. Giving the Erasers commands. Then those Erasers would roll away crates with children inside, slight younger or around my age. I looked around frantically.

Several experiments were wheeled off until only I and one other crate was left. The white coats examined both crates, reviewing the papers then nodded happily. With one wave of a hand the Erasers rolled both crates into the van. The Erasers than sat in seats rowed on either side. Doors closed then the van's engine started. Then took off.
