Cobalt Island (One on One RP~ Readers Welcome!)

Introduction:

Your character(s) had or lived in Lahaina, Maui (Hawaii). Some of you received a scholarship invite to Archer Bay Academy (aka ABA). Archer Bay is a fairly new school but it's academics is the highest throughout Hawaii. Archer Bay is always looking for those with unique skills. It almost seems to good to be true. Some of you may come from a well off family while others barely have a dime into their name. Getting an invite to a high end private school brings up red flags. So, at first you might not consider joining until something at home pushes you in going.

When the characters first enter the school they meet in the assembly room/cafeteria to great one another for the first time. It's one of those systems to get new members of the school feel more welcome and possibly meet new friends who are just as clueless as they are. Once the greeting is over the new students get assigned to their dorm room. Some maybe paired up with a fellow newbie or one who has been at the academy for a long while. The dorms are located at the east wing which is the largest part of the school other than the sportsmanship building. Girls upstairs, boys downstairs.

For the first two weeks everything was going normal. Then things started to feel a bit off. The teachers began to act cold and distant, students slowly start to decrease as time goes on. The characters soon realize that there is something up. Eventually, they start looking into things. As they searched for clues to what is going the characters start to form a group. And this does not go unnoticed.

Terrible accidents began to occur. Objectives falling from out of nowhere, cars nearly running you over or being locked in the cafeteria freezer etc. A couple of months of fighting off attackers and near death experiences things go quiet once again. Just when we think they'll be able to have a break the dean plans their demise.

One afternoon the dean announces that he'll be drawing names of students. The winners will be going on a five month marine research boat trip across the Pacific and Atlantic ocean. He then calls out the names over the intercom to report to the office. Even though it seemed like a great opportunity the scary thing about it all those involved investigating the school were the ones who were called.

Without being able to say good-bye, everyone of the characters were forced to pack their belongings. Board the vessel the very next day. When they thought things would go south immediately they were shocked when just the opposite happens. For a while they learned a lot about marine life and other cool facts. This went on for several weeks when the obvious happens.

One morning the teens woke up to find that they are alone. The teachers, boat crew gone! While the teens searched the entire boat for any clues they come across a note left on the captain's cabin door. The letter was signed by the dean.To sum up the letter it pretty much states: the boat is on auto pilot leading them to their finale destination, Cobalt Island, if anyone attempts to disable it or turn the boat around it'll explode. It also tells then the room that was originally locked is open. There they'll find supplies. Not wanting to chance fate did what the letter told them.

A few days later the island came into view. When the boat crashed onto the shoreline the teens gathered up what they could carry onto the beach. Once everyone was off the boat and some distance away the boat explodes giving them no hope in returning home. Now they most find all means to survive the unknown. Even if it meant fighting those around them.

Until one day a fire took his father's and step-mother's lives. Silas almost died in that fire, luckily the scars left by the fire are barely noticeable. MagicAndDance Character:
Name: Esttin Cavali
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Race: Caucasian
Skin Color/Tone: Fair skinned.
Hair and Style: Long, straight blonde hair, generally in a high-band or flat
Eyes: Dark Green
Weight and Height: 61.24 kilograms/1.67 metres (135lbs/5'10")
Personality: Esttin is a young woman, she is very bright and sweet. She is also very naïve and gullible, and so she can be lead astray easily, by anyone who means her harm. She is very trusting and doesn't see bad things in others, focusing on the bright side whenever she can. Esttin is also very stubborn, and refuses to give up things that are important to her, such as hope and a constant smile.

Background: Esttin came from a poorer family, but they rose in status because of luck and hard work on her parents side, she was 10 when they joined what was called the middle-class and she learned from their struggles. She remembers staying up, late at night, when her parents used to fight, and staying curled up in her bed, listening. She hates when they fought, and always tried to keep them happy, unmeaningly causing more tense in their relationship. Esstin never understood that their divorce was not her fault, and even when they took the chance to raise in status, she could not forget their arguments. For a few months after her parents had paid for a new house and a car, they didn't fight, and life at home was peaceful. Esstin hoped life would stay that way, but her hope was for a hopeless cause. Her parents divorce when she was 14, and her world seem to shatter and crumble around her. Her Mother moved out of the family's house, and Esttin followed her. She spent the next four years of her life travelling between her Mother and Father house, living with both of them. She did continue to succeed at her school and she continued to hope for a very good life.

Ability(s) and Other Skills: Esstin doesn't have many special skills. She knows how to bandage a few injuries and how to cheer others up. Her true skill lies in her ability to see the good in any situation or person. Esttin has the ability to bend energy to her will. Everything living has energy, and she can pull from that to create two whips, two ropes of energy usable for combat. The amount of energy drained from a person or thing is equal to the energy drained from her, so if she uses the same amount of energy she has in her body she will die. This energy only drains from her and others when it's used to do something. If she's using it as a display of power, it won't drain any energy, because all she does is funnel the existing energy into a large rope and allow others to see it. She is also threatened by emotion, if she has vulnerability when she uses her power, it's possible it can consume her, and it will fight and kill anything around her until everything is dead, or she is dead. The energy shows itself in a colour as she uses it, depending on where she draws it from.

Further Information:
Archer Bay Academy: The school is a few years old, but the building is over 120 years old. Some features are renewed. Like plumbing, fixtures, extensions etc. The school is located in Lahaina, Hawaii. The original bedrooms where turned into dorms. Girls upstairs boys down stairs two per room, dorms are located at the east wing. The sporting area is much larger than the school. The academy sits on his own beach and the front gate hidden by the natural grown forest even finding the path can be difficult.

Cobalt Island: Tropical just like Hawaii, but has no volcanoes. Mostly covered by high top trees that you can find in the amazon jungles. A lot of the animals and plants are similar from both regions but many look like creatures from horror stories and myths. The salt water surrounding the island are invested with sharks. The island isn't listed on any map and yet isn't hidden by any mist/fog. The dean and staff had placed cameras around the island to record events (though they a hard time in doing so because of the locals). Why, no one knows for certain other than those who placed the cameras there.

Islanders: You would think they were would be savage like, like on TV. The islanders have a more modern behavior, just no technology. They are very secretive so aren't very open in helping out those who supposedly are stranded. They attack those who pose a threat but usually they just keep a watchful eye. Yet, just like most humans you have those who don't think but react do to past experiences.

Some Villages on Cobalt Island: Yahtuk is a small village that is surrounded by trees. Most of the homes are craved within the trees then built outward. Yaktuk is known as the old time village for the people there prefer to stick to tradition. The villages raise dogs, and messenger birds. They also great at hunting and basket weaving. For being so small and not having very many people Yahtuk tends to be hardly noticed. Though people from the other villages flock it in the spring/summer months for the views and cool water springs surrounding it. Liore is the largest village on Cobalt, it's also deals mostly with politics, education and handles most of the islands population. Liore is also known for it's bakeries, libraries and fashion sense.

Cobalt Island Creatures:
Prowlers- werewolf like creatures but tailless, short hide legs, long sloth like arms with four inch claws, lastly they have a face of a nearly hairless bear. Most prowlers are grey or dark brown to blend into their surroundings. They spend most of their time prowling hence the name, once they find their prey they won't loose sight of it. Prowlers live in the mountain terrain and or anti-social unless it's breeding season. They normally come out at night for the sun is hard of their eyes, yet they are nearly blind at night so they relay on scent and hearing.

Jinxees- twin tailed fox like creature, they are slightly smaller than a cat. Shy little critters they are but friendly; they live underground or in tree holes close to the ground. Jinxees live in packs size varies from just five to over thirty. Jinxees prefer to come out during daylight but some mostly come out at night. They are usually light brown, white, or cream in color with white and/or black markings. They eat mice, birds, etc.

Raptors- predator birds, wings are bat like, they have razor sharp teeth, size of a full grown turkey, sharp claws on tips of wings and talons. They live in a flock of hundreds, up in the mountains. They hunt in parties or ten or more they are clumsy flyers but fast climbers. They hunt anytime of the day or night and they aren't very smart.

(Other than that the animals on the island are the same animals we see everyday. Such as horses, wolf/husky like dogs, parrots, owls, cows, pigs, chickens, and jungle like animals etc. P.S. I will add more info and/or characters later.)

((It didn't copy. Fixing now))
Esttin gave Silas a kind smile, but she had no want to ask him for money, she had always been fine on her own. As he asked her what kind of food she wanted, he held the door open for her, which was something that was rarely done for her, except when she and her father held the door open for each other, and then insisted the other took the door they held open. She always found those times funny, and the thought of her father made her start to laugh, before she caught herself, ducked her head and sat in the car, putting on a thoughtful expression. At least, what she thought was thoughtful.

She then answered Silas’ question with a shrug and a slight tilt of her head. Esttin wasn’t all that hungry, she was just going with him because the thought of wandering around and running into his grandfather was terrifying, and it would probably end up with her slapping him, which would not be good. As she thought about Silas’s grandfather, she thought of his energy, which lead her to think of the energy that had come with someone it’s Silas’s room. When Silas had gotten annoyed and Esttin had left.

“Silas, who was the person that came into the hospital room earlier, before you fell asleep?” she asked, silently hoping he wouldn’t get angry again. She was already sick of people being angry at her, and she had to call her parents, a task she dreaded.

Silas talked with the driver about what's going to happen. He normally wouldn't ask to be driven around but Esttin was joining him and from witnessing with his own eyes though pretty athletic in her own terms isn't cut out for extremely long walks like he was. The driver looked at him in question wondering if he should be leaving the boss behind. Silas to him is also the boss but doesn't the same authority as his grandfather. Most likely its because he is still a teen so he gets under minded. Which is something that causes Silas to loose his temper. Depending on the situation. Getting a ride isn't one of those things that bother him.

After some convincing and bribing the driver another chance to having a second lunch he agreed into taking the two of them on a drive. As long as Silas let's him off the hook for taking them places. He didn't say that he knew what had happened yesterday most likely he was more worried about leaving the boss behind. All Silas did was give a small grin satisfied in getting his way.

When he turned to look at Esttin she was already wearing the shirt he gave her. He didn't expect her to change into it until they would come across a rest room. He didn't ask how she managed to do so without showing anything that shouldn't be shown in public. He didn't see it to be appropriate to ask such a thing. Esttin then said that she didn't have the much money for shopping, also she agreed to going to the beach. Not mention she needed to call her parents for if they hadn't attempt contact her yet then they don't know the news to what had happened. And they just might kill her.

Silas thought she was being a little over dramatic. For no parent would actually kill their child... unless they had no soul. He never had any problem with his father or step mother, they were busy and often not home but other than that no issues. He doesn't recall much of his actual birth mother. All he knew of her was that she would put on a warm smile even in the roughest of times. Especially when he had no control over when his body took on the wolf shape.

Silas patted Esttin on her head for a couple short seconds before saying. "If you spot something that you'll like to have just let me know. And there is no need to feel guilty about it a few bucks here and there won't make a dent in my bank account." He began to say opening the door for her. "So, what food type are you in the mood for?" He asked waiting for her to get in.

07-22-2014 at 5:25 AM
When she agreed, Silas made no movement of enjoyment or happiness, in fact, he still looked a bit annoyed. Maybe he had just offered to be nice? As the thought ran through Esttin's mind, she noted Silas seemed to start thinking, absorbed in his own mind while he did some strange calculation. At least, that was what she assumed.

Without a word he turned around and gestured for her to follow, before setting off. Well then. Esttin sighed, but set off after him, noting his brisk pace, and wondering if something was wrong. In truth, Silas was not moving all that fast, but Esttin wasn't amazing athletic, and she moved pretty slowly, so she found any pace to be fast. This did worry her, however, and she felt the real world merge with her own as she expanded her senses to pick up other energies.

She noted the wildlife, a young squirrel, many birds chirping, and the trees. There was something wrong with their energy, it wasn't as strong or as... Well, confident as she was used to. The trees held enormous power normally, power that she couldn't really access because it moved slowly, but these trees were different. They had not a lot of power, and it jumped, flickered, and clung to other energies as though it was dying, and it didn't want to. Thinking on this, Esttin hurried her pace.

As they emerged, she felt the normality of the world sink in, and she noted Silas doing something strange, making a sort of snorting sound. Did he just sniff the air?

Esttin's frown deepened as she followed him, and watched him repeat the action multiple times. She knew what he was doing, but she found it funny, how a boy could be so much like a dog. She wondered if the world was a lot different to him. In fact, she wondered if he could smell everyone strongly, or if it was like a switch, maybe he could see in the dark, or hear extra things. He would have his own world too, like Esttin does, but with different things. Part of her wanted to ask, but she chose not to.

Without her noticing it, they seem to have made their way into a car garage, and she was breathing harder. They must have walked a while, though she didn't notice, as she had been caught up in her thoughts. In the car garage, there was a shorter man, a bit fat, eating outside of a very fancy car.

Esttin frowned. He was the driver, obviously, based on the way he was dressed, but she didn't see the reason to have a driver. Why not drive your own car? If you bought it, you would think you would want to drive it! She didn't understand, but wouldn't question that either, seeing as none of her previous questions had been answered.

She dropped her eyes to the ground, remembering her parents, and knowing she would need to contact them. If the school hadn't, she would need to tell them that she hadn't been in her classes. They would be angry. The only time they didn't fight with each other was when they were angry at her. And sometimes, it seemed like they were always angry.

Silas had said something to the driver, but she didn't hear it, and when she looked back up he was half naked, and changing into a new shirt. Her eyes got wide and she spun around hiding her blush at the same time as hiding her eyes. Couldn't he have chosen a better place to change? When she glance back over her shoulder, it seemed as though he was done, and he offered her a shirt.

Esttin took the shirt carefully and examined it, then, in three quick, definitely practiced motions, she switched her current shirt with the one he handed her, without exposing more than her belly. She had learned that from gym classes, on the days she just didn't want others looking her up and down.

"I don't have the extra money to spend on shopping." she replied, almost angrily, before softening her voice and offering Silas a smile, "but I guess the beach would be fun." She knew it wasn't his fault he could buy the entire world, but she had already been in a bad mood, and she still needed to call her parents.

"I just need to call my parents after we eat. They haven't shown up to kill me yet, which means they have no idea what's going on." she finished, with a soft laugh, though she dreaded the idea of telling her mother she hadn't been to classes, and worst of all, it was because of a boy.

She was so going to be dead.
Silas smiled inside, he kept his straight plain expression on his face when she agreed to joining him for a bite. Silas didn't want to head back inside the hospital, he needed clothes. He can't go wondering around town wearing pajamas. Though if his grandfather's car were still in the garage he could always check the trunk. Usually his grandfather has back up clothes for the both of them. Silas doesn't really car for the taste of teen clothing his grandfather buys for him. He can't complain, anything would be better than pajamas.

Silas backed off from Esttin, taking a few steps away before turning around. With a gesture of a hand to let her to know to follow him. He started his way out of the thicket. Following the same path as before. He walked slow ans steady. Watching the path carefully up ahead. He half expected to hear movement coming from the trees or a figure approaching them. No, it was your typical quiet forgotten nature trial. If you can call it that.

Silas has been on nature trails. This little poor excuse for one causes one of his eyes to twitch. The trees look weak and sick. There were a lot of birds within the area. Silas can hear them. But other than birds nothing else seemed to call this place home.

As he continued to walk he felt the stab wound by pressing a few fingers along it. It stung but it wasn't an overwhelming pain. As long as he took things easy it should be fine. This is an upside to having a body like his. He heals almost just as fast as that Wolverine guy from... the X-men series? His wounds tend to leave little scaring or not at all. This one though might leave decently noticeable scar. Silas wasn't sure if he'll be alright about it or disappointed.

Finally, after just a few minutes they reached the end of the trail. The towering hospital walls was a sore sight to see. Yet, better than witnessing the sad looking trees. Silas kept going without stopping. He was eager to have something to eat. He walked a little faster now out in the open. He didn't check to see if Esttin was following. If she had agreed to come along she should be tailing him. Silas sniffed at the air to pin point where his grandfathers car might be. The scent was weak. So either it was in the car garage or it's nowhere to be found.

Silas followed the scent into the garage, the smell of gasoline made his nose wrinkle. There were quite a few cars. The first two levels packed full. On the third floor the scent grew stronger. Silas gave a grin spotting the car right away. There were only around ten cars on this level but his grandfather's was the only clean sleek expensive one among the bunch. Staying outside the car was the driver. He was eating away at a hamburger and slurping up what seemed to be soda. He was a short somewhat heavy set guy.

Silas approached him. The driver noticed Silas coming quickly chewed the bite his was working on before putting his food away. Obviously, he wasn't suppose to go on his lunch break yet. Silas didn't care when your hungry your more than welcome to eat on the job. His grandfather disagrees.

"Don't mind me, just here to grab some clothes." Silas started to say tapping on the trunk gesturing the driver to open it. Without hesitating the driver popped the trunk eyeing his half eaten burger. Silas ignored him and quietly went through the trunk. There were two sets of green bags. The one stitched with a S was his. Silas unzipped it surprised to see clothing he'll be happy to wear. There was a couple of sets. Silas pulled out a pair of dark jeans, army green t-shirt with a light grey snake coiled around the entire shirt, and a pair of black boots. And a light blue t-shirt with a beach theme on it for Esttin.

When he closed his bag up he noticed something hidden in the far back corner. Silas narrowed his eyes closing the trunk loudly, which then echoed, knowing exactly what it was. Silas glanced up at the driver who nervously looked away. Silas didn't say a word about it. Setting the clean clothes on the Silas pulled off his pajama shirt dropping it to the ground. He noticed his own body odor which made him want to take a shower. Shower first or eat first.... defiantly food. He needed food before he goes insane.

Silas examined his stomach wound before slipping into his clean shirt. It was bandaged neatly, no blood spotting. Good, maybe he'll take a swim later in the ocean to rid body odor smell. He is use to changing his clothes of the spot and nearly forgotten one important thing Esttin standing near him. He inched his way to the other side of the car and striped the pajama buttons off and pulling his pants of. Then he pulled his boots on over his bare feet.

Silas felt more relaxed now being in normal clothes. He handed Esttin her shirt with a soft grin. "Here, I wasn't sure if you had any clean clothes with you. If you like after we eat would you like go shopping or maybe even head to the beach?" Silas asked innocently, he's trying to be nice knowing after all she went through she might a little stressed out. So, he's trying to come up with things girls might typically like in order to cheer her up. He isn't the type of person who likes shopping but he's willing to go if she wanted too. He wanted more clothes anyways just in case he ends up needing to transform again.
Esttin blinked in surprise, as his face was just inches from hers. Why was he so close? It was weird. She took a small step back and frowned. He hadn’t even paid attention to her whips when they were out, in fact, he had just ignored them! She was bothered by this, because they were really only show-y hitting sticks. She couldn’t do much damage with them, and even if she could, she didn’t want to. The whole point of them was to scare people, and if Silas wasn’t scared, she couldn’t do anything if he attacked her.

With a small smile, Esttin nodded at his suggestion, remembering she probably had some money in her pocket, so she could pay for something. She hadn’t eaten much since he’d been brought to the hospital, in fact, she had only eaten a few candy bars from a vending machine, but if he was out and about as he was, they could probably go back to the school soon, and she could get her classes and get back on track.

Thinking of school made her think of her parents, and she wondered if they knew she wasn’t in school or going to classes. Wouldn’t they have contacted the school if they knew? Or come to the hospital to yell at her? Yes, her mother would certainly throw a fit, while her father would give her that disapproving look of his that made her so upset. If they knew they would certainly be here, so she could only draw the conclusion that the school had neglected to tell them, for reasons she didn’t understand.

“Silas, why do you think the school just let us not do homework or learn anything? I mean, I can understand why you wouldn’t, but not me.” She frowned as she spoke, and then shrugged slightly, returning to a happier smile, “Ah, it doesn’t matter. You said you were hungry right?” she asked, smiling at Silas brightly, though she still retained her earlier question.

Seeing how the joke didn't settle well with Esttin, Silas frowned a little looking away feeling disappointed. She had her whips once again in her hands readying herself if he did happen to come at her. He has a feeling that she might be still getting use to the idea about him being a werewolf. He tries not to scare people for the fun of it. He just wanted to see Esttin's reaction. Goes to show her trust in him isn't fully there which is the disappointing part of it.

Silas felt his stomach give off a quiet rumble. His mouth watered a little. He hasn't eaten or drank anything since he's been. Even though it's been a day and a half it felt as though he has eaten anything for a week. He is use to feeling starved from time to time thanks to some unkind foster parents in the past. There are times when he can't stand it. Silas glanced back at Esttin wondering if she had eaten anything yet. She was still on the defense. Without thinking Silas approached her. He pictured her cracking one of those whips at him but she had already let them vanish so he might be out of danger... this time.

Once close enough Silas stopped and leaned forward. His face just inches away from her face.

"You want to head into town to grab lunch?" He asked giving her pleasing smile. "I know an awesome place near here. But first I need to find my debit card before heading out. Most likely my dear old grandfather has it for safe keeping." He paused for a few seconds to allow Esttin to consider her options. "So?" He asked hoping to hear a yes.

Esttin felt the familiar flow of energy as she latched onto Silas's energy. She felt the strange tingling in her fingertips, the weight in her hands, and then, the world changed back to normal, excepting the two icy blue whips she held. Silas hadn't shown any sign of transforming, but pulling his energy away from him should prevent any attempts to transform. So she revealed her whips.

With her whips out, and using his energy, her expression changed to smug confidence. He could transform, yes, but he was injured, and she had the advantage. She felt one of the whips twist in her hand, like a writhing snake, it had curled in the air, and was trying to get free. Whips felt similar to snakes in more ways than one, when they moved it was similar to holding a snake, the ripple of scales and muscles, and the texture of the smooth scales, the way it made tour hand feel slimy even though it left nothing behind. Esttin also felt a pulsing, like a heart, but much slower, that moved through the energies. It was strange, so say the least, she had never felt her whips before, and the last time she used Silas's energy she didn't focus on the whips.

As she thought about the situation, she returned to him getting stabbed, over and over. Though at first it didn't dawn on her, she realized he had pushed her out of the way. He had saved her from getting stabbed. She hadn't really thought about why he had been stabbed, except that she had convinced him to wander off. As she thought through this, her whips disappeared, and she allowed Silas's energy to return. With her whips disappearance, so went her smug look, replaced by a look of confusion.

He had been concerned, or else he wouldn't have left his room. The thought made her happy, though a bit confused. Her expression, ever in turmoil, changed again, this time she was blushing, though she didn't realize it. She had gotten him stabbed, by a mad man, insulted his grandfather, been rude to him and he had been concerned. But now, of course, she had threatened his life with his own energy. He wouldn't want to be her friend now.

Finally returning from her mind she realized she had been making strange faces, and her embarrassment only grew when she realized she had been staring at Silas the whole time. Very strange. Her thoughts had only lasted a few seconds, but it had been enough to work through recent events, and decide that Silas didn't want to eat her. Though he could still be a drug dealer, you never know.

A bird darted from a tree, you could hear it's wings flapping hard then disppearing as it flew higher into the sky; the silence was welcomed but caused a little tension. It reminded Silas about yesterday sending a shiver down his spine. He shifted his posture a little in order to get rid of that eerie chill away. It didn't exactly work so he needed something to keep his mind off it. But there wasn't really anything he could do since he was injured. Other than a handful of utterly boring activities that requires sitting still.

He sighed to himself feeling stressed along with being uncomfortable. Esttin mentioned her reason for leaving a note or some way for him to know she left. Adding to his irritation. Just then she made a face. One he has seen before. She looked a tad angered but more frightened than anything. Which gave him an idea. Silas' bored, unhappy expersion turned into something an insane hungry person would attempt to express. A crazy toothly smile, eyes fixed on their prey. He wanted to take a look in the mirror to see what he looked like. Probably, just like a phyco killer.

He thought out three scenes that might take place. One: Esttin will pull out her whips yell at him and attack. Two: Scream then run away. Three: Stand there frozen like a deer staring down a pair of headlights.

"Geeh, I am so hungry you boney figure is starting to look quite tasty!" Silas said while slurping a little bit of spit to finsih off his act making it seem like he was truly looking forward in eating something with meat. He was truthfully starving so it wasn't hard to sound hungry. His stomach, now thinking of different meats on the grill, gave a small rumble. With the silence it was easily heard.

Esttin felt a flicker of strange energy at the edge of her consciousness, it was icy, bright, and it disappeared within seconds. She ignored it mostly, only noticing it when it started to waver, in and out. It continued this strange action for a few seconds, as Esttin put her full attention on it, then it stayed, happy and bright and excitable. Quickly bored, she returned to practicing, watching the gashes the whips made in the earth, smiling at the puffs of dust and leaves. The green contrasted deeply with the orange of the sun, and the small spots of light played off the green in an enchanting manner. She was transfixed.

Then the energy moved, fast. The bright energy she had noticed earlier had come closer, and it still was. It seemed familiar, but new at the same time, and intrigued her. She reached for it, and when she heard its quiet hum, she recognized the energy as Silas’s, and figured he had wondered out here for some quiet. She drew back, away from his energy, and focused again on the tree’s, pulling from small insects around her to make the whips light up in different colours in short bursts. She didn’t use the insects’ energies, knowing it would kill them, and released them when she went back to aiming strikes at the ground and the trees themselves. She was not putting a lot of force behind them, so the trees were not damaged by the whips, but made a soft thud sound when hit.

Her mind, though open to energies, was closed to the rest of the world. When Esttin used energy her vision narrowed into energies only, she could not see the physical shapes of the people or animals around her, though the forces that filled bodies always took the shape of the body. Her world like this was filled with colours. The trees themselves varied in shades of green, and sometimes, red. The animals usually had bright colours, like pinks, blues, and violets. The flowers were the most interesting, each its own unique colour, and composing of the entire rainbow. This was Esttin’s world, colourful, bright, perfect. She saw the world without energies as dull and boring, lacking the flourishes of her world. Her world, however, was not all bright. Insects had duller colours, each seemed to be a water-like substance, with multiple colours, and sometimes, small specks of bright colours. They usually came in deep golds and purples, but insects were all different, and they were all everywhere, so their colour variation was as great as the flower’s.

When Silas spoke, Esttin heard him, and released the energy she had in her whips. She felt the world slowly come in around her, bringing her back to bland, dull, normal. She sighed softly, refocusing her eyes on Silas and the world around him. First she noticed his posture, he had his arms crossed, and was leaning against a tree. Aside from the hospital clothes, he looked as though he was healthy and normal, like he could get up and go annoy that guy he’d wanted to fight when they first got to the school. She then noticed his shoes, or rather, lack of them. She tilted her head slightly, looking up to ask him about it when she saw his look. He was annoyed, or angry, definitely.

“I didn’t see a reason, I mean, your grandfather was there, right?” she asked, as she took a small step back, and reached for the tree’s energy again. She didn’t know if Silas was dangerous when he was angry but she certainly wasn’t planning on taking any chances. She didn’t know the reason why he changed, whether he controlled it or not, or whether he was like her, and emotions deeply affected his strangeness.

She bit her lower lip, narrowing her eyes. She didn’t look angry, in fact, she looked a bit scared. She was remembering how big he was, and how she definitely couldn’t win in a fight against that, especially if she didn’t want to actually hurt him. But she readied herself anyway, not tapping into Silas’s energy yet, but gripping it, like one would grip a weapon in preparation for a fight. Though gripping his energy wouldn’t cause much difference to him, she felt a bit overwhelmed to have both his energy and the multiple trees’ energy under her control. Her expression seemed as though she was half-dozing, and her world mixed strangely with the real world, the real world’s objects taking on strange tints and glowing of their energy colours. All she was doing was hoping he wouldn’t want to kill her, and wasn’t affected by emotions. She had no want to get eaten by a wolf.

Silas was nearly ran over a couple of times by nurses and doctors as they rushed about trying to check up on their patients before clocking out. Silas would attempt to wave through them or move over to the side. Other than the staff there were hundreds of other people roaming about. Patients, families and other guest. If it were this busy it must be one of the more popular chains of clinics.

Silas was having a harder time fowllowing Esttin scent with all theses people around. Every time he went to sniffed at the air he found it suffocating. He gagged a few times when he happened to catch a horrible whiff of some sort of smell. He felt sick to his stomach. Occasionally a passerby would ask him "Are you okay?" or some other question of concern. Silas didn't reply he just kept going. If he stopped to answer that'd be a waste of time. Considering that he doesn't know what has happened to Esttin yet.

Just then he heard a familiar voice shouting from behind. He glanced back to see his grandfather trying to reach him but was stuck on the other side of a train of empty hospital beds. Knowing his grandfather Silas quickened his pace.

He attempted to dart through a large crowd walking the same direction he was. Hoping this would would let his grandfather loose site of him. When the wave of people took a turn around the corner Silas followed soon they passed that corner he through a door. Luckily it was unlocked and it lead him to where they parked the ambulances ready to head when a call happens. Silas took a moment to take a couple of huge gulps of outside air. He hadn't noticed that he had broken out in cold sweat. He felt nauseous so he crouched down hung his head in between his legs arms over his head. He may look as though he was in a ball but this one way to rid of the nausea.

After a few minutes of breathing in fresh air and taking a break from stress he started to feel quite better. Other than catching whiffs of oil and gasoline and.... Esttin's scent! Silas stood back to his feet hasty to get back on track. He sniffed one more time and found a strong trail to follow. He walked out the ambulance garage out back. The scent lead him around another part of the building until it reached a small groove of trees. Silas made a face. Though pretty the trees looked weak and sick. Most likely most were planted here causing the trees to suffocated each other. Silas slowly began his way along the dug out path. Not sure what to find. The further up he went he Esttin's scent grew stronger. Also it was the only scent he was smelling. He sighed in relief. She had wandered off other than being forced away.

Silas paused realizing that he's acting just like a concern boyfriend.... he hopes that his grandfather's marriage comment the other day isn't effecting him. Silas frozen in place. The idea made him feel quite uncomfortable. He scratched at his mangled hair realizing it was messy he attempted to comb it through with his fingers. He looked down at his feet suddenly. He blinked before looking up again. No shoes. Completely bare footed. Oh well, he preferred walking without shoes. It was a lot more enjoyable. Silas continued on following Esttin's scent until he came to a split. He took the left path since her scent lead that way. Why she choose to walk the creepier un-kept path is beyond him. Until a flash of light whipped just inches away from his nose. When it passed Silas folded his arms then leaned against a tree to watch.

"It would have been nice if you left me a note, Esttin." Silas finally spoke after a couple of minutes of watching her practice. He was annoyed of all things other than happy in seeing her safe and sound.

She frowned when he ignored her question and went back to sleep. She figured he was sick of her, and her questions, the things she should know, but didn’t. She looked around the room for a few minutes, but had quickly gotten bored and decided she wanted to go outside. She figured that Silas’s grandfather would probably return, and with him would come more insults, so if she left now, she could avoid that. She glanced at Silas one more time, to be sure he was sleeping, before slipping out of the room, closing the door lightly behind her.

Once she was free from his room, she was free to wander the halls, and so she did, taking the long way through the hospital to the exit. She walked slowly, looking at the hospital staff rushing about, completely ignoring her. They moved around her as though she was just an object, yet another thing in the way. Sometimes she would end up standing pressed up against a wall as doctors, nurses, and hospital beds moved passed. Because of the huge amount of people, it took a fairly long time to reach an exit, this one was the ambulance entrance, but she assumed no one would yell at her if she left through the large sliding-glass doors it sported.

She walked into the ambulance area, and then looked around. To her right was a staff parking lot, to her left, the main entrance to the hospital, in front of her was a wooded area. Not a forest, because it was groomed and set up by people, but wooded because it was filled with trees, it even had a small path. Very convenient. Esttin had wandered onto the path at about the same time Silas was waking up, not that she was aware of that. She had taken on a leisurely stride, looking around as she walked, hoping to enjoy the day, even if she had probably been the cause of Silas getting stabbed and almost dying. Aside from the guilt, it was a beautiful day.

She paused when the trail turned two ways. She could still see the hospital behind her, and the trail to her right would allow her to continue seeing it, to make her way back if needed. The trail to her left, on the other hand, went into a part of the wooded area that was less groomed, though groomed enough to continue having a path. She chose the left, after some hesitation, and walked even slower, brushing her fingers against the trees as she walked.

She was content to be in the forest, the energies here were soft and slow-moving. They craved nothing but to continue growing, and delighted in the sun’s rays. Occasionally, a flicker of quicker, faster energy appeared in her peripheral, but normally that happened because of a squirrel or bird, so Esttin didn’t question it much. She didn’t pause or stop, but she moved at a pace that prevented her from becoming tired.

Suddenly, she had the urge to practice. It wouldn’t be safe, to practice on a public path, but if she stepped off the path for a bit she was sure she could find her way back. She glanced around, attempting to memorise where she was, and then set off, looking around and noting the increase in small movement of energy. There was definitely more life out here than there was on the path, and she wasn’t very far off the path. She paused after about ten minutes of walking, touching a tree to her side, and closing her eyes, to feel the energies around her better.

It was long before she had tapped into the energies of multiple trees, and, feeling their weight in her hands, had seemed to summon two long ropes of twisting green energy. The green was a forest green, not overly dark, but cool and deep. She smiled at the whips, and then hit the ground, gently, with one. The had only just tapped the ground, so the energy used was small, but the whip seemed to recoil at hitting things, as trees sometimes did, and protested her use of it in that way.

Esttin eyes seemed distant. Almost as if she was in some other world. Silas couldn't quite get her. One moment she talks a lot then the next she appears quiet and spaces out; almost like she was the living dead. Silas wanted to reach over and pinch her check to snap her out of it. But she managed to do so on her own. She asked him questions once again. She is always asking questions to things she should already know... supposedly. Silas didn't answer her, he didn't feel like removing the breathing mask. Instead he peered out the window for a brief moment before falling asleep again.

When he awoke the sun was setting. He was asleep for a good few hours though to him it felt no more than a few minutes. He noticed that was still wearing the breathing mask but his IV drip was gone. Most likely his wound healed up enough to he didn't need it. So he wasn't surprised. There might be a possibility that tomorrow most likely he'll be able to get discharged. If his patience doesn't run out by then.

Silas glanced around the room feeling that something was amiss. The lights were off but he had no trouble seeing. There was a vase at the foot end of his bed with at least three dozen assorted flowers, and a couple of teddy bears. Silas frowned. This was his grandfather's doing. He's always gifting Silas teddy bears no matter what occasion it is. Silas can't put his finger on it to why. It could be because he doesn't see Silas as an adult/teen quite yet. Or he just feels guilty. There are other possible reasons to the old mans weird grandson complex.

As he looked around more nothing else seemed out of place. Other than Esttin, she was sitting next to him. Did she wander off to stretch out her legs or gone to the bathroom? After what happened yesterday Silas stomach took a hard sickening drop. Maybe someone managed to take Esttin away while he was asleep.

Without hesitation Silas removed his breathing mask. He throw his covers off on him and thank goodness they dressed in pajamas other than the hospital gown. He removed the patches from his chest. The beeping noise ceased Silas felt like rejoicing. He slowly sat up feeling a throbbing sting where the stab wound was. Though the pain was tolerable. Soon he stood up he nearly stumbled to the ground when his knees pretty much gave out. he caught himself by pushing up on the mattress. His body was weak from staying still for too long. After a few seconds the numbing feel went away allowing him to continue.

He sniffed the air catching a slight whiff of Esttin's scent. The scent was so weak she must of left a while ago. Silas jaw locked in anger, not entirely about Esttin not being around but also towards himself for not being more aware. He walked quickly out of his room nearly running into a few nurses. They gasped in surprised then questioned where he was going. Silas ignored their effort. He just kept on walking down the hall. After he walked down several more halls searching frantically Silas now knew why he still had the breathing mask. He short on breath, his head felt light. Maybe when he was stabbed the blade has pierced a lung. Silas shook it off not wanting to be concerned about it. His top priority is Esttin.

(Note: I couldn't think of thing else to write, cause I didn't want to post something again with Silas just laying in bed etc. So, a little change up is good in order to keep everyone's interest involved with the story

Esttin was about to apologise when she was hit. Not literally, but a black energy had filled the room and outright attacked her. It seemed to dominate all of her attention, incasing her in a swirling mass of black energy. It was definitely black, and it was very quiet. It didn’t make a sound, it just pressed closer and closer, as though if it got close enough she would release it. She closed her eyes, keeping her head down, and tried to concentrate outside of the energy.

She could hear talking, but it was muted, blurred, and impossible to understand. She concentrated on the talking, it sounded more like a strange instrument gone wrong, hoping to catch at least a bit of the conversation. But, the clearer it got, the more the black energy strangled her with its presence. She didn’t feel like she was struggling for air, but she wanted to vomit.

It seemed to take hours, but the voice faded and the energy started to disappear. She assumed its owner was going too. Within seconds of its owner exiting the room, the energy was gone, the same way it had come in, like it was firmly attached to its owner, and it entered and left as they did. It didn’t take her as short of time to readjust to thinking and to open her eyes. She could hear Silas chuckling, and she wondered what was so funny. Maybe she looked weird, it was possible.

Esttin slowly dared to look up, and noticed Silas had gotten quiet and was looking at her with a curious look. She dropped her eyes and blushed, feeling a bit stupid. She ha insulted his grandfather and now didn't hear whatever that person had said. She wanted to ask, but she figured he would get annoyed with her. So Esttin stared at her shoes for what felt like hours, building up her courage.

"Who was that? What did they want?" she asked, quietly, as she glanced up and looked at Silas again. She had been stunned by the person's energy and didn't even get a glance at them. She figured it had to be important, even if she hated asking.

Silas listened to Esttin's word he almost was expecting her to lecture him not to move around but what she said came to a surprise. After realizing what she was saying Esttin covered her mouth. Esttin disliked his grandfather. Most people do. So, this wasn't a complete surprise; he does have that effect on almost everyone. Even Silas at first had an odd feeling about the man. As time went on those feelings started to disappear. There has been some occasions when they resurfaced. Silas would ignore them depending on the situation at hand.

Silas moved his breathing mask to the side again to speak. "Don't worry he usually gives off that impression. Running and owning several of the resorts across the islands can be quite stressful. Especially when a lot of people are trying to weasel into your life do to being greedy. This is one of the reasons why I ended up like this." Silas admitted taking small breaks between sentences. His voice was starting to sounded a tad better. His mouth was starting to feel quite dry, but he can tolerate it for bit.

Silas adjusted the mask back over his mouth now that he had finished speaking. Bored and tired Silas just felt like sleeping. The way he felt he almost is about too. He had only just woken up from however long he's been out. Do to the loss of blood, fighting, transforming his body is hating him at the moment. Silas was about to drift back to sleep when someone appeared. At first he thought it was his grandfather. He wore a fancy suit, hair combed back and had that sense of control. Until he noticed how young this man looked. He seemed almost lawyer-like the way he was groomed. Not interested Silas glared then looked away. He forced himself to stay awake. He doesn't like strangers... which almost makes him sound just like a child. But with all that had and has happened to him anyone could pretty much understand his reasons.

The person was quiet. He stared at the two of them with a sleek facial expression. Then a smile slowly wormed across the person face. The person was staring Silas, with that creepy smile of his. Silas flinched feeling oddly disgusted. Get rid of that smile and don't look at me that way you perv! Silas thought to himself making a face.

"I am Dolbin Kedron, Archer Bay's dean and owner. When I heard about what had happened and that one of the students had been emitted into the hospital I was in shook." He began to say. Silas believed he was more concerned about being sued or worse, the school reputation would drop because of this. "I am glad that the two of you are doing quite well. Esttin feel free to take a few days off from school. And Silas I hope to see you back on campus once you recover. For now I will have someone bring you two class work to keep you busy until then. I am sorry for this short visit but I must return to the school to look after some urgent matters." With that Dolbin smile vanished before he departed. Silas sighed in relief he was feeling shivers running down his spine all this while.

Silas' body started shake a little not from the chills but from trying to hold in his laughter. Dolbin... what kind of name was that. He didn't want to start laughing just in case the dean came back. He snickered to get it out of his system. Once he was through he looked up at Esttin, who was sitting very still and quietly. For someone like her to be like this she is either trying to initializing what the heck just happened, or there's a chance it meant something else.
Esttin winced at the thought. He’d been stabbed before. She didn’t know why, and had no want to know why, because she didn’t want to know if this kid was a murderer or drug dealer or something. She dropped her eyes to her shoes, studying them, while she went through possible scenarios as to why he might’ve been stabbed before, because, while she wouldn’t ask, the curiousity was overwhelming. She wondered if he’d been in a gang and got in a fight. But that didn’t make sense, he could become a big, terrifying, eat-your-head, wolf. Why would anyone fight that? She went to different causes, maybe a sneak attack, like they came up from behind and stabbed him before he ate them, or maybe he trusted them and they turned against him. Maybe he was a drug dealer and one of his clients got mad and attacked him. Esttin settled on the last one as the most plausible.

She didn’t know many kids who were rich, but the few she had known were into some pretty bad stuff. They always said they got bored, that it was fun to take a risk. Esttin doubted having money could be boring, her parents had always fought over money, how they needed to pay bills and buy food. That was why Esttin had very little items, she didn’t ask for things. When your parents struggle to pay bills and buy food, you don’t ask for toys, or items. She figured Silas had a lot of stuff. His grandfather did love him, even if the man himself was creepy.

She hadn’t thought of Silas as one of those kids, not when she first met him, but it only made sense, academies weren’t meant for lower-class people, they were places for the rich to send their kids to get them out of their hair and to keep them quiet. Esttin liked Silas, he had seemed nice and understanding, with a bit of an issue with threatening people. She figured he wasn’t a people person. But, with what she’d learned he was definitely a drug dealer. And a rich kid. She didn’t know which was worse.

Suddenly, the beeping sped up, and Esttin stared, wide-eyed, as Silas put the mask back on. He seemed tired. Had she said something while she was thinking? Her worries changed, when a nurse and his grandfather rushed in, to check over him and make sure he was okay. He explained he was, and that he had moved. She stepped back to keep out of everyone’s way, returning to staring at her shoes. It wasn’t long before his grandfather and the nurse had left again, and Silas and Esttin were alone.

She compared Silas’s energy with his grandfathers, and wondered why they were so different. Silas’s energy, if a bit reserved, was bright and energetic. It wasn’t devious, like his grandfathers. She could see his grandfather’s colour, a deep red, almost black, but it still had colour, it wasn’t very bad, just creepy. She raised her head to look over at Silas, reaching for his energy. This time, it didn’t seem to avoid her grasp, though it didn’t seem to like it. She didn’t use it, or pull it from Silas, but she wanted to know if it was still weird, or if it was normal.

“I don’t like your grandfather.” She said, without realizing what she had said, “He’s creepy and his energy is unnerving.” She continued, before processing what she had been saying. Once she realised what she’d said, her eyes got wide and she put her hand up by her mouth, dropping her eyes to her feet, and trying to figure out something to say to cover that up. She felt rude, and like a horrible person for ever saying that out loud, to his grandson. She wouldn’t hate it if she died right there.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to say that.” She muttered, as she glanced to her side for an escape route.

The way Esttin looked was obvious she hadn't slept well. Or had any sleep. Her eyes were puffy from crying. Most likely all because of him. He doesn't like it when people worry over him. Overtime it makes him feel guilty. Like now. He had a hard time keeping eye contact with Esttin. Every now and again he would stare at the door hoping for his grandfather to come in. Or even a doctor. This was making him feel awkward.

Silas worked on trying to figure out an answer for Esttin's question. His thinking was all hazy still either from being asleep, if you call that being asleep, or the pain medication they were giving him through the IV. He sensed that Esttin wasn't truthfully completely happy. The smile on her face twitched as she forced to keep it there. He was feeling quite alright at the moment. Thanks to the IV drip. Silas didn't bother to look at his arm. Seeing that needle in his arm will make him want to vomit. There are three things he truly fearful of and needles is one of them. This is the second reason why he dislikes hospitals.

"This isn't the first time this has happened." He started to say quietly gazing out the window. "I'll be alright." It's true, he's been stabbed once before when he first lived with his grandfather. First time it right in his shoulder though. Also, give him a few days the wound will start healing... yet considering where and how deep the wound might be it'll probably take longer.

Silas started to feel restless. He tried adjusting himself into a sitting position but had a hard time since most of his body felt heavy and numb. But he managed. It would have been smarter to use the remote to upright the head part of the bed. Yet, this way he is forced to his muscles and also he has no idea where the remote is. Moving around he felt a slight sting in both his left arm and stomach. He glanced down at his arm, it was wrapped in a splint. He must of sprained it.

Maybe sitting up wasn't a good idea. He's eyes blurred over do to feeling light headed. And he had hard time catching his breath. He fixed the breathing mask over his mouth again took a couple deep breaths until he felt alright again. The beeping on the machine raced a little until he stabilized himself. Slowly he laid back down again quick exhausted. But he forced himself to stay awake. He wasn't ready to fall back to sleep.

A nurse came rushing in along with his grandfather. Both wondering what was going on. Silas gave a wave of the hand telling them everything was fine and they could go. The two looked at each other before leaving quietly. His grandfather had a slight grin on his face or was it a frown Silas couldn't tell which was what.

Esttin’s mind seemed to be in a blur as she was moved away from Silas and the loud sounds of police and ambulances appeared. She was staring at Silas with horror, watching as three men did things, they were talking loudly, maybe yelling, but she couldn’t make out what they said. The combination of all the people’s energies and her already tired body made it impossible to think, or to process what was going on around her. She felt helpless, like she should do something, but she couldn’t, she couldn’t process anything to help. So she stood there, shaking and looking around, feeling oddly out-of-place and lame.

Then Silas’s grandfather started yelling. His energy was all over, not interested in Esttin anymore. It danced, the way a snake did when a snake-charmer played for it. It seemed to coil around others and whisper secret thins into their ear, though it was only energy, and could have no effect on the real world unless she helped it. Still, it seemed to hiss as he yelled at the three men, at least, Esttin thought he was yelling at the three men, it was possible he was just yelling, or targeting someone else. She was unable to understand the scene so she blankly stared at him yelling, and then noticed the three men moving quickly, to do something.

For a minute she watched the men, not understanding, then she felt a hand grab her arm and pull her towards a car. The same car that had pulled up earlier. The same one that brought Silas’s grandfather in it, and the guns. The same one with the guns. She tried to resist it, but the hand was insistent, and pulled her into the car with it. The hand belonged to Silas’s grandfather, who had a stern face and an angry look about him. His wrinkles were obvious, but they were obvious in a way that made him look dignified, respectable, solemn. She might have respected the old man if he didn’t have such a terrifying energy about him, if he didn’t seem like he would have anyone killed, for just annoying him. She didn’t avert her eyes, and made no attempt to hide her staring. If he noticed or cared, he said nothing.

Esttin got out when they reached the hospital, and sat in the waiting room where Silas’s grandfather placed her while they fixed Silas. She was numb on the outside, but she was at turmoil in her mind. She didn’t know if the attack was her fault, or if she could’ve stopped him from getting stabbed, or maybe if she hadn’t used his energy he would be fine. As her mind went through everything she did wrong, it came to the conclusion that he might die. Then, she felt a sense of dread creep over her. She liked Silas, he was nice, and for once, he was someone that understood her. What would she do if he died? She wouldn’t be let back into the school, maybe she would just go back to living with her parents. She doubted they would be happy with her. Or maybe, she would go to jail. Esttin didn’t want to go to jail.

It took several hours, which Esttin spent alternating between quietly crying and sitting in the seat worrying about Silas. By the time they allowed her to see him, after they let his grandfather in, of course, she had been through that cycle enough to run out of tears, and to end up staring blankly at the ground, trying not to think.

When she stepped into the room, she noticed the smell first. It smelled like a hospital. Everything filled with that horrible plastic scent and the disgusting smell of sickness. It was enough to make her want to gag. The second thing she noticed was Silas’s energy. It was humming softly, but it wasn’t active, as though it was sleeping, or daydreaming. She didn’t think energy daydreamed, or slept, but it felt as though it was there, while at the same time, not being there. She reached for it to check on its well-being, it would tell her how Silas was doing, but it evaded her grasp, and continued to float just on the edge of her consciousness, light and quiet.

As she approached Silas she noticed he was sleeping, and while he was doing so, he looked okay, at least moderately so. The monitor she stood by beeped at a constant pace, timing his heart, and creating a boring rhythm that stuck in her head, like a bad song she just couldn’t forget. She was trying to block it out and focus on Silas when he stirred, and then awoke, staring up at them with a smile. Of all things, a smile. Esttin smiled back, though it was awkward and out-of-place on her face.

Within moments, his grandfather rushed out the room with a cell-phone in his hand, as though he didn’t want to be around Silas. But maybe he was just telling everyone Silas was okay. As his grandfather left the room Esttin gave a small sigh of relief, relaxing a bit. His energy was hard for her to deal with, it seemed to manipulative, evil, and cunning, she could barely stand to be near enough to feel it, and being in the same room was horrible.

Silas greeted her, in a thick, raspy voice. He sounded like he hadn’t slept in months, and like he needed a drink of water. He still seemed to be a bit drugged, and he had removed the mask over his mouth to talk, probably not a good idea, but Esttin didn’t want to upset him by telling him so.

“Hello Silas.” She replied, putting on a false happy voice for him. She was pretty good at hiding her emotions, and used the skill, in the hopes that Silas would feel better if she was happier. “Are you feeling okay?” she asked, kindly, not knowing exactly what to ask.

Silas could hear voices. Esttin voice seemed to be the loudest out of the bunch. He wanted to wake up to see what was happening but he body wouldn't allow it. Eventually, he started to to loose his senses. First his eyesight, then smell, voice and now his hearing. Everything faded even the pain in his stomach seemed to have vanished into nothingness. He started to wonder if he died. Though if he did he would be having thoughts.

With is body feeling so light and all he could picture was darkness his thinking started to slowly disappear too. First he couldn't remember much about himself. His age, name where he lives. The last thing he thought of before he completely shut down was that this completely sucks.

Narrative Point of View:

Things seem to have taken a turn for the worst. Students and staff were now emerging from the school building. Police cars pulled up with sirens blaring. Halting on the lawn just within the school gates. An ambulance arrived just as quickly. The police hurried about to contain the situation. Asking questions and setting up a barrier. Paramedics went to work on Silas. One checked his vitals while the other two worked on his wounds.

Silas' grandfather hovered over them ignoring the police officer efforts in asking him questions. He watch crossed armed shifting on his feet. It seems that Silas' wound was quite bad. The two paramedics words on stabilizing him and attempted to stop the bleeding. The paramedic keeping an eye on his vitals told them that he was going into stock. Soon those words came out of his mouth Silas' grandfather hollered at the three men to stop fooling around and rush him to the hospital for proper treatment. At first they didn't move. But one of them seemed to have recognize the man and then agreed to his terms. They place Silas on a gurney and wheeled him of into the ambulance.

Meanwhile Silas' grandfather suggested for Esttin to come along to the hospital. Actually, other than suggesting he commanded her. The ambulance took off. His grandfather wasn't going stand there forever. He hoped into the car pulling Esttin into it along with him. He told the driver to follow the ambulance closely. The drive was quiet. Other than a few muttered words from the old man. Soon they reached the hospital Silas had already been wheeled into the ER. Now all they could do is wait.

Back to Silas' Point of View

Beep...Beep...Beep What an annoying sound Silas thought. It's the only thing he's been hearing for what seemed like days now. He want to wake up but he hasn't gained enough energy to force himself too yet. So for now he was letting his body rest. Slowly but surely his other senses were coming back. First his was sense of touch. The throbbing pain in his stomach, his left arm but at least it brought back his thinking. And pretty much letting him know that he was still alive thank goodness. For he still hasn't accomplish anything yet.

Every now and again he can hear voices. They were heard to hear but they were there. Every time he hears someone the better he can make out their words. And whose voices belong to who. Esttin was here. His grandfather and a few others. He knows that he is in a hospital. He hates hospitals but for once he was fine being in one. Soon his other senses started to come back to him. And slowly but surely he started to wake up. He blinked his eyes open. Everything was so blinding. He closed them again for a short few moments before opening them again. This way they adjusted to the light.

Two sets of eyes stared at him. Overran with joy. Silas gave a weak smile happy to have cheated death. His grandfather wiped away a tear from his eyes before rushing out with a cellphone at hand. Leaving just him and Esttin in the room. Silas lifted his right hand onto his mouth. He had a Cpap breathing mask on his face. He shifted it over to the side so could speak. Probably not the smartest thing to do but he felt perfectly fine... while not exactly perfect but well enough that he can take off his air support momentarily.

Esttin was still wearing the same clothes when he first met her. He shifted his eyes to look outside, it bright but not yet noon. So, it must be the next morning. Looking back at Esttin he said in a raspy dry voice, "Good morning."

Esttin followed Silas without a word, she had no reason to speak. She was carrying his bag, and, while it was light, she was tired. Her body didn't hurt, not like Silas's did, but her mind ached, pulling back from any touch of energy. She was tired, and her hand was sore from the bag strap. But she wouldn't complain, knowing that Silas was taking the harder job. He was carrying the man, Esttin was only holding a bag.

As time passed she felt a sinking feeling set in. The man was still out, but she didn't feel right, like the forest was wrong. It distracted her from her exhaustion, and she paid more attention to it for a while. There were whispers, or more like soft notes being played under the main song, a completely different tune. It was forboding, when she concentrated on it, as though the forest itself was sick, or dying. She shuddered at the thought, and continued to follow Silas, trying to block out the ominous tone.

As they finally emerged from the forest she saw a sleek black car pull up. It looked strange, out of place, and the energy within it was also strange. A man emerged, and her first impression was like a snake. His energy slithered and hissed, it didn't sing. He had a black energy, eager to trick and manipulate her. Esttin winced when the energy noticed her, turning the full force of it's attention on her, almost laughing while she felt uncomfortable. She felt it take over her mind, trying to find a way in, launching small, fleeting assaults against her mind. She winced again, and pulled back, blocking out the feeling. She hoped the man wasn't as slimy as his energy.

As she refocused on the world she saw him walk over to Silas, after Silas had put the man down, and start talking about the attack. This man, whoever he was, knew it was going to happen. He didn't call ahead or warn the school. How caring of him. As though he had heard her thoughts, he focused on her and walked over, looking at her critically. She didn't smile, in fact, she glared at him. She didn't like this man, he didn't seem as slimy as his energy, but he didn't seem genuine.

When he mentioned something about her marrying Silas she frowned. He sounded like he was joking, but she didn't like his jokes. She didn't like him. As she started to reply, Silas spoke first, mentioning that this man was his grandfather. Hearing that, Esttin felt a bit bad for judging him so quickly, and she felt her expression change from bothered to ashamed. Until, of course, he said something about her being poor. She grimaced and flipped her hair over her shoulder. She would've slapped the man if he wasn't Silas's grandfather, but she did nothing, and gave Silas a deadly glare. His grandfather was rude, and she certainly wasn't okay with that.

Suddenly her world shifted, and she felt the hard, rough surface of the ground hit her. She was about to yell at someone until she saw the man, and Silas. He had a knife in his hand. She was confused, was he hurt? With a small noise, similar to a squeak, she moved over to Silas and gave him a wide-eyed look, before she started to talk.

"Oh my gosh are you okay? Are you hurt? I should call the cops or an ambulance or oh my gosh you're hurt! And they have guns so- Oh my gosh they have guns! Oh gosh this is not supposed to happen why do they have guns?" she was working herself up into a frenzy, and she started to cry as she continued to talk, her whole body was shaking, and she seemed very stressed. This was not how the school year was supposed to be.

Esttin stood up using a tree. She did seem quite tired. Her eyes had the exhausted look in them. As soon as she was up she seemed fine so Silas didn't pester her more about it.

She then asked what they're going to do with the guy. Silas had thought on it. Though he wasn't sure if he carry the person fifteen to thirty minutes through woods back to the school. He also couldn't leave him here for there's a possibly that he may wake up and disappear. If that's the case the police may never be able to find him. Dreading it Silas walked over to the attacker stared down him for a moment. Tapping him with his foot, hard, to see if he would stir. No moans or movement good.

Silas tossed his bag at Esttin's feet. "Can you carry for me? It's not heavy just some clothes and a few books." He asked explaining to make an excuse to why she would be able to carry it. If he seemed rude it wasn't intentional. He was dead tired and sore. Making him quite irritable.

He looked up at the sky just then. The sun was setting. This whole ordeal took two hours, maybe more. The fight felt like it took just a few minutes since everything happened pretty quickly. It was just the walk up here and waiting around took the time away. Sighing, and rubbing his neck Silas looked back down at the out cold man. He looked heavy with all his gear and muscle mass. Normally guy's like this he can carry with ease. He just wasn't sure what condition his body was in in order to do so.

Not wanting to waste anymore time. Silas grabbed at the person arm and shirt and heaved him up. Silas' nose wrinkled. This guy stinks. Silas then cradled the person over his right shoulder. It looked as though he was carry a overly large sleeping child to bed, or even hulling in hunted game. Silas adjusted his right arm around the guy's legs to keep a better grip on him. Without a word Silas started to move. He sniffed following their scents back to the academy. The track back would have been more enjoyable if he didn't have to worry about carry Sir Stinky.

It was difficult finding his footing with his flip flaps. He wished he brought another pair of boots with him. Somehow he managed not too further embarrass himself. Sweat down his face the further they went. His legs felt like jelly. He felt weak but he needs to bare it just a bit longer. Ten minutes turned into twenty minutes, twenty minutes turned into an hour. Silas was starting to get out of breath. He wanted to collapse on the spot to sleep. Stumbling, whacking his head, fighting then transforming twice in a short period of time surely took a number on his body. But they were almost there. All this this time walking Silas often glanced back at Esttin. She seems fine to him in comparison. Though just as tired.

He pushed them further on. Not taking any chances for when the attacker may wake up. Silas doesn't plan on fighting him again. Finally, the trees were starting to open up more. A good sign they are reaching their destination. Just a few more steps. They made it. The school came into view just as expected. Silas let the guy drop to the ground. He round his right shoulder a few times rubbing it. "Gosh, why do they seem to get heavier and heavier each time." Silas said to himself aloud.

Just then he got a glimpse of a black car driving by. His eyes gleamed but narrowed. The car streaked to a stop before going into reverse. Ten halting once more. The back door opened hurrying out was an all to familiar person. It was his grandfather. He had a concerned expression which told Silas this attack was set up by someone within the family. Silas straightened himself out as his grandfather made his way towards him. A guard following closely. When his grandfather got close enough he stopped. Both Silas and him were stared quietly. Without warning his grandfather wrapped his arms around Silas giving him a tight hug.

"My goodness when will these events ever stop occurring." His grandfather said releasing him. "That pathetic family of mine, I had just received a fax with threats about the attack on you so I rushed here as quickly as I could! You seem alright a few scrapes and bruises." He said patting Silas on the head laughing a bit. This old man treats him like a small child quite often. Silas is use to it. He just stood there with a blank gaze. His grandfather then happened to look pass Silas and stared at Esttin. As he did so Silas followed his stare and looked back at Esttin as well.

"Now who is this young lady?" His grandfather asked walking up to her now. Giving a quick swipe. "She is most certainly a lovely girl. I think I just found your future bride." He said with a serious gleam in his eyes.

Silas' jaw nearly dropped. "Grandfather, why do you always intend to marry me to every young girl you come across?!" Silas said itching with annoyance.

"That's because I want to see my great grandchildren before I go. That is all. After all you are my only grandson." He said while laughing turning back to Silas. Silas can never take this guy seriously. "Anyways, I thought this school had better security. After all this school houses mostly the rich. Though I see they are letting in lower class students in as well." He said eyes shifting his eyes towards Esttin. The gesture made Silas' annoyance turn into anger.

"Grandfather! There is no need to bring those type of things up." He scolded glaring his grandfather down. In defense his grandfather raised his hands and waved them as in saying my bad.

Just then Silas saw a shadow coming up from behind Esttin. The person roared out of madness. He flared around an army knife as he charged. Instinctively, Silas bolted up to Esttin pushing her aside. As he did so he didn't have time to move out of the way himself. The blade disappeared somewhere. Silas didn't see where it went all he knew he felt pain. He didn't scream nor move. His eyes fogged over, his emotions stirring inside. He heard his grandfather barking orders in the background. He heard a loud scream coming from someone. Silas stared insanely at the attacker. Silas removed the blade from his abdomen. Strangely he didn't feel anything. His body was all numb. His wolf instincts were kicking in again. This time he wanted to sink his teeth into this guy's throat. Before anything else happens several people in black appeared guns pointing at the attacker. Realizing that things will be alright Silas body felt heavy all a sudden. His hand let go of the blade before he fell to his knees. Everything was fading in and out. Why do terrible things happen to him. He should just change his name to Jinx. He body slumped over as soon as it did everything went dark.
