Santa Paws: 4 Days Left -- Entire Choco Cake!
Started By
Santa Paws his holding daily drawings for special items up until Christmas! These drawings will be posted each day both here, in the news, as well as in Mini Updates/Admin Updates, at some point before midnight. There is one prize per drawing and it's completely up to chance (haha, NOT the companion!) to choose the winner. The rules are simple and they are straightforward, but they are not to be trifled with.

Read the Rules!:
1.) Post ONCE in this thread before Midnight Ala time, on the day the thread is posted in order to be entered into the drawing. (If you post more than once, you may be disqualified from the running)
2.) You may post once per account.
3.) Players found creating more than the 2 allowed accounts to enter these contests will be BANNED from Alacrity; no exceptions. Don't do it -- we hate banning people.
4.) All Alacrity standard rules still apply! If you're not familiar with them, please take some time to do so -- you can find the link at the bottom of every page!
5.) We don't care what your post says, provided you follow the above rules, although Santa Paws is also picking a secondary winner based on criteria listed at the end of this post :)

This drawing will be for: an Entire Ultra Fancy Chocolate Cake!

The winner will receive an Entire Ultra Fancy Chocolate Cake, which has five uses and gives the dog you feed a piece to -10 Hunger, +50 Energy, +5 speed, and +5 drive!!

P.S. Santa Paws told me he'll pull this round's second winner based on the best gift you ever received and why. We want to hear about the coolest thing you ever had gifted to you, but more importantly, WHY it was so special to you. It's the "why" that counts for this one :D

The most special gift I ever got was two days after Christmas. On Dec. 27th, 2009, my mom flew out to Nashville, TN. to pick up my new puppy from his breeder. His father was (and still is) one of my all time favorite American Hairless Terriers, UKC GRCH Wudnshu's Double Shot. I'd loved him ever since the first pictures of the litter was posted, especially since he looked exactly like his dad. Mom didn't want another dog...but Double's owner emailed mom asking if she would be willing to take him on a co-ownership. She loved everything we did with our other AHT, Carsten, and wanted Sully to be in the same kind of home. So, finally, mom agreed. Since Sully was in Tennessee, we would have to either have him shipped (which mom didn't want to do) or go pick him up ourselves. Mom chose to fly to go get him, since he was still just a baby and could fit under the seat.

Immediately, I was his favorite person in the house (although he kept me up all night crying in his crate, poor thing) and I started training him in comformation as well as teaching him easy agility obstacles like jumps, hoops and tunnels.

Sully is still my heart dog, and we';ve done awesome things together. His name is now:

CA UFR URO1 UAGII UWP USR GRCH 'PR 'VHK'S Double Vision-Hairy
He has earned a BIMBS, multiple RBIMBS, lots of Total dogs in many events, and a TDBIS
And, pending UKC approval, UFCH

(See my profile for explanation on these titles, if you are curious)

Sully in the Top Ten breed ring last year at the UKC premier.

-end brag-

The love and acceptance that my best friend gives me everyday is the greatest gift I couldn't have even fathomed before! She truly has given me hope for the future, and a reason to smile again. The world was so dark before, and now I feel so incredibly blessed!

The best Gift I ever got for Christmas was a few years ago. To understand why this was so special to me, you have to understand a little bit of my background. I had an interesting childhood growing up, and was moved from place to place before going to an orphanage when I was 11, I was adopted out after a few months there, but by that time I was to old to get some of the things I could have gotten when I was younger.
Well as things would happen, I feel in love and moved out of my adoptive parents house when I was 18. I moved in with a wonderful man, who is now my husband. Well, I talked to him a lot about what I wished I had gotten growing up. The one thing I had always wanted was a jewelry box. One that had the figuring spinning around while a song played.
We were in a toy store one day when I saw a little metal one. It was purple and had horses on it. When you opened it up a little horse spun around and “home on the range” played. I was in traced by it, and almost bought it. But I decided against it. It was close to Christmas and we had a budged. So I walked away from it with a sigh.
Well on Christmas morning we were opening presents and there was the little jewelry box I wanted, but it was different. It was wooden. I opened it up to see if the horse was the same. Inside of it was another box. It was wrapped, but my heart skipped a beat. I mean what else would go in a jewelry box.
So I slowly unwrapped the little box, taking care to not rip the wrapping paper. It was a ring box. I looked up and caught the eye of my beloved and he just nodded his head. So I closed my eyes, took a breath, and opened up the little ring box. I opened my eyes and saw the most beautiful ring. It was white gold, had a nice purple amethyst stone surrounded by little white diamonds. I looked up and saw my beloved in front of me. He said it wasn't an engagement ring, but a promise ring. That the ring was pretty, but it wasn't fitting for an engagement ring, and that he had bought the Jewelry box a few weeks ago, before we had gone into the toy store.
It was the best Christmas present I have gotten, and I still use my little wooden jewelry box to this day, though the rings have changed, the original is in a place of honor spinning with the horse when the top of the box is opened.

The best gift ever given to me was my laptop, back in 2005. I have, however, updated my laptops twice since then, but it has been the most useful present to me for a number of reasons.

The first reason was because as I have issues with my hand and writing, as I cannot write too long (about 5 minutes) without my hand becoming sore, achy, and well, unable to hold a pen. Getting a laptop meant that I could do my schoolwork with ease, and my grades have gone up by 3-5 levels in most of my subjects, which means that in some, I have gone from a failing grade to a grade excelling my expected target. Another reason would be the fact that as I do enjoy writing stories, a laptop helps me get ideas down neatly, organised and quickly. Before, my notebooks would have arrows and asterisks everywhere, because I had changed my mind. With a laptop I could just press backspace. My last reason would be the internet. It has been very helpful researching and getting feedback on stories that I write, but I have also met some brilliant friends online as I don’t get on too well in real life with people. I know it's not a sentimental present of any sort, but I think it's the best gift I've ever received as a student.

And besides, without my laptop, I would of never found Alacrity :)
The best gift i've ever gotten was my dog Max. He was in a huge white box just sitting under the tree. So I went to open it up but he wasn't in there! I found him in my room eating a sock. He is the sweetest collie mix ever but he ran away and has been gone for 2 years.

My mom and my stepdad got me a Mp3 player like 4 years ago... to top the fact that they gave an mp3 player to someone who absolutely LOVES music Marc also filled it about half way up with anything he though i might like. This random music was how i discovered that 3 doors down is my favorite band and that i really like No Doubt. i still use the same mp3 player to date. (that thing is durable i couldnt count the number of times ive dropped it lolz)

The best Christmas gift I ever received was my cat. I know this sounds rather typical, but there were a few extra circumstances involved in this pet-present. :P

You see, I'd already met her, multiple times. Ginny was born in a washing machine across the road to us, at a friend of mine's (who thankfully spayed her cat after the litter. >.>) house. I met her the day she was born and helped in trying to find homes for her brother and sisters, but nobody seemed to want her... She was a little "special" even then, very skittish and preferring to hide from visitors rather than saying hello, like the rest of the litter. By the week before Christmas, it looked like she was going to have to go to the RSPCA, because nobody would look after her - I knew I couldn't even ask to take her myself, my parents detest cats and we already had a dog.

Without me even daring to hope, I woke up on Christmas morning to the sound of mewling. She was locked in the bathroom, with a note from my parents on the door, saying that I could keep her. She's now 9, and has been my baby ever since. <3
