Santa Paws: 6 Days Left: Magical Rubber Ball!
Started By
Santa Paws his holding daily drawings for special items up until Christmas! These drawings will be posted each day both here, in the news, as well as in Mini Updates/Admin Updates, at some point before midnight. There is one prize per drawing and it's completely up to chance (haha, NOT the companion!) to choose the winner. The rules are simple and they are straightforward, but they are not to be trifled with.

Read the Rules!:
1.) Post ONCE in this thread before Midnight Ala time, on the day the thread is posted in order to be entered into the drawing. (If you post more than once, you may be disqualified from the running)
2.) You may post once per account.
3.) Players found creating more than the 2 allowed accounts to enter these contests will be BANNED from Alacrity; no exceptions. Don't do it -- we hate banning people.
4.) All Alacrity standard rules still apply! If you're not familiar with them, please take some time to do so -- you can find the link at the bottom of every page!
5.) We don't care what your post says, provided you follow the above rules, although Santa Paws is also picking a secondary winner based on criteria listed at the end of this post :)

This drawing will be for: a Magical Rubber Ball

The winner will receive a brand new Magical Rubber Ball, complete with all 5 uses!

P.S. Santa Paws told me he'll pull the next round's second winner based on most interesting holiday tradition. Does your family do something fun? Do you know about an ancient, silly tradition? Post it for a chance to win! :D

My family has the tradition of not having a tradition, at least for the pst few years. We've had a huge family celebration...we've gotten back from a dog show riight before and had an eighteen inch tree...and thise year, we are headed to disney and universal studios with the dogs in the RV.<br /> <br /> However, when I was younger, every year I put a sign on my door asking santa not to come in my room, because I was scared of some fat guy coming in my room in the middle of the night while I slept.

Every year we always read the Night Before Christmas before we open any presents.

This year we'll head two hours to my Great Aunt's house the morning of Christmas Eve and celebrate with them until bout 4. Then we'll drive 2 and a half hours to my grandmother's house to celebrate with them until midnight or later. We then pull our RVs from her barn and camp in her backyard for the night. In the morning we are up early for coffee and more games and gifts from SantaPaws himself. ;) Then we head back home to our house for a quiet family celebration and a day full of sledding (if there is snow).

Here's another odd one:<br /> <br /> "The Vatican, unable to prove the existence of modern-day Santa Claus decided to tell kids that a kindly old witch, La Befana, delivers presents to them. So instead of waiting enthusiastically for Santa to arrive in his reindeer sleigh, the children dreams of a witch bringing them Christmas gifts. "

Here's one from around the world since my family doesn't have weird traditions. It's just boring things like opening 1 present on Christmas Eve which always contains pajamas to wear that night.<br /> <br /> "The best-known Latvian Christmas tradition is an odd custom called mumming. 'Mummers' wear an assortment of masks, the most traditional ones include faces of bears, horses, goats, gypsies, and, amusingly, living corpses"<br /> <br /> <a href="http://www.wildjunket.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/image_thumb4.png">Picture</a>

lol one of my household traditions is to have a eggnog chugging competition, and the loser has to take an eggnog bath wearing a swimsuit (it is not as fun as it sounds... last year it was me) Then, we eat waffles :D

My dad is a cop so he works from like 3 in the morning to like 3 in The afternoon. So my mom allows us to open one present in the morning and we have to wait till 3 in the afternoon to open the rest. We also eat hawaiian french toast for breakfast with lots of bacon. And a tradition of my own is to stay up at night as long as possible and then get up at 3 and stare at all the pressies under the tree (pretty boring traditions)

My little family doesn't have Christmas ON Christmas Day - all we do on the 25th is have a big meal together. This is because some of our housemates are usually off visiting their parents at this time. Once everyone is back home again, though, we have our own Christmas:<br /> <br /> First we get up in the morning and someone cooks breakfast for everybody. Then once everyone has eaten we open gifts, one at a time so everyone can see what a person got. Then we will usually play a board game or watch a movie, doing something all together as a household. In the evening we have a big dinner, usually ham, and all watch a tv show or another movie together while we eat. Then it's more games until bedtime!

After our at-home Christmas morning, we hop in the car and drive 3 hours up to my grandparents' house. There, we get together in my grandparents' tiny house with a whole ton of my extended family, eat a large lunch (lasagna - woot!), and then open White Elephant presents. After everyone opens one, we give everyone the opportunity to exchange with someone else. All the kids under 21 get their own presents, one from each little family unit. Then everyone leaves, we go to sleep, and drive home the next day!

oo fun! We don't have any <i>interesting</i> Christmas traditions, but here's our schedule anyway:<br /> <br /> On Christmas Eve, we go to an early Mass, then go home and eat homemade pizza while watching A Christmas Story. On Christmas morning, we get up super early (5 am >.&lt;) and commence our Christmas: open our stockings and then one under-the-tree present, then we have breakfast (cinnamon buns, soft boiled eggs, toast, snickerdoodle coffee), and go open the rest of our presents. Part of my personal little Christmas tradition, other than volunteering at the animal shelter on Christmas Eve, is now going to include my rattie boys - they'll be with us while we open presents and they'll get dibs on all the wrapping paper XD

I don't know if it's interesting to other people but our household is starting a tradition where the kid and will be kids when the babies are older have to pick from a choice of their smaller presents to give to a charity. the most expensive ones are put to the side since that'd be a bit much to donate. <br /> After their all bigger they plan to also have the whole household involved/volunteer at a special holiday meal for homeless and poor people.

Alright, I'll start us off with my family tradition, We all head to my grandmother's and after everyone has opened gifts and eaten too much and drunk a toast somebody suggests we go across the street to my aunt's house and play Bocce Ball - which is kinda like lawn bowling. It's often cold and no one is particularly good at it but we all have a great time while my uncle grumbles about all the holes the heavy balls are putting in his lawn.
