Santa Paws: 6 Days Left: Magical Rubber Ball!
Started By
Santa Paws his holding daily drawings for special items up until Christmas! These drawings will be posted each day both here, in the news, as well as in Mini Updates/Admin Updates, at some point before midnight. There is one prize per drawing and it's completely up to chance (haha, NOT the companion!) to choose the winner. The rules are simple and they are straightforward, but they are not to be trifled with.

Read the Rules!:
1.) Post ONCE in this thread before Midnight Ala time, on the day the thread is posted in order to be entered into the drawing. (If you post more than once, you may be disqualified from the running)
2.) You may post once per account.
3.) Players found creating more than the 2 allowed accounts to enter these contests will be BANNED from Alacrity; no exceptions. Don't do it -- we hate banning people.
4.) All Alacrity standard rules still apply! If you're not familiar with them, please take some time to do so -- you can find the link at the bottom of every page!
5.) We don't care what your post says, provided you follow the above rules, although Santa Paws is also picking a secondary winner based on criteria listed at the end of this post :)

This drawing will be for: a Magical Rubber Ball

The winner will receive a brand new Magical Rubber Ball, complete with all 5 uses!

P.S. Santa Paws told me he'll pull the next round's second winner based on most interesting holiday tradition. Does your family do something fun? Do you know about an ancient, silly tradition? Post it for a chance to win! :D

My family has an odd Christmas tradition. Every year we get together at one of three relatives houses. The years we go to my aunt's house, we have a big family water balloon fight. The teperature is usually between 15 and 40 degrees, and we all wear our swimming suits.

We don't really have much of a tradition, just a secret Santa, setting up my grandmother's Xmas tree and going over to both sides of the family on Christmas day after a Christmas eve party at my house.

On Christmas Eve, my family does a thing called "Hide the Pickle." It is a German tradition, in which you hide a pickle shaped ornament on the tree, and the kids have to find it. Whoever finds it gets lollipops :D
Also, on Christmas night, at my Dad's house, we make Swedish Meatballs for dinner. Every year. :D We also put the bows from the presents on the cat and dog xD
At my mom's house on Christmas morning, we run downstairs as early as possible, and attempt to wake up my mother xD She's never to anxious to wake up early lol :P Anyways, we then open up gifts, and watch A Christmas Story, and eat pie and mashed potatoes (i know it's crazy, but it started when one christmas my grandma really wanted mashed potatoes in the morning, and we do it every year xD)
Then i get shipped on over to my dad's house where we spend the day cooking and watching movies. Then we open our presents after we eat dinner :D It's always soo much fun.
At my dad's house, we always regift one video, that is reeally special. It's title? Animal Bloopers.
Worst movie ever! It honestly is. So we wrap it up, and give it to someone, and they give it to someone else the next year xD

My other tradition is one that is exclusive to my mother and I, and that is how e decorate the tree. Like normal people we put ornaments on our tree, but our ornaments are not the ones you buy at Hallmark, they are alcohol miniatures. Our tree topper? A Bailey's bottle. All we need now are the green fairy lights. ;)

My family has two traditions, one of which I shall talk about in this post, the other on my side.

On my mother's side of the family, we have but one tradition, and that is of the box we pass around gifts in. A new person has it every year, and it has endured through a few decades. The box is actually an underwear box from the 70s. :)

Not really a horribly interesting tradition but every year we take a person off the street, or someone that has a family and has come by hard times, and we treat them to Christmas dinner and a few gifts.

We also have a huge tradition about making about 80 or so pies of all different types because we have a huge family. My Grammy Merry has the amount of what different types of pie should be made each year down to a science, no pie goes uneaten or untaken.

I'm the only one who really "celebrates" Christmas in my house. I'm very holiday oriented and my mother and brother aren't ^^;

Well- every year we have a "silly" theme for our tree. This year we have a "dinner" themed tree- complete with hanging spoons, forks, pickles, cheese, sundaes, and many other food designed plastic ornaments! Lol, it was a trip trying to find food based ornaments...

In our house we would dedecorte the tree and would boil some of the wood and eat it. We would use the pine needle to make creations and once we made an actual box although it was extremely prickly. We would also burn the wrappings of the best present and bury the worst.
