Trial prizes.

Trial prizes, as I said before, are under a period of adjustment until I figure out what lets you guys earn money, but not obscene amounts, and also lets ALL your dogs earn money from trialing instead of it costing money to trial.

They've been lowered for higher levels, but still higher than what they were at first. :)

Not sure if this has been suggested, or would be really messy to code, but I thought it could help.

What if the multiplier on the trail score, for the prize money, was different based on a TP bracket? Like, 0-1kTP dogs have X multiplier for, say, Odie level, but 1k-2kTP dogs have Y multiplier, where X > Y. If the difference isn't too huge, it's possible to make money with a low TP dog, and while the TP monsters WILL make more, they won't be making crazy amounts with lower multipliers than the lower TP dogs have.

I figure if, at the Odie level a dog with say, 1k TP has a 2x multiplier on their score they can bring in about 1k ala cash. But if it's a 1x multiplier on a 9k TP dog's score, they'll be bringing in 4-5k. That's still a fair bit more than the 1k dog, but not obscenely so.

Exact numbers can be tweaked, was using them to help illustrate the idea. I hope it makes sense...and maybe can help the economy out.

HI I had gave up yesterday on trailing dogs under 2000 TP as I was finding I was loosing about 200Ala with a win every time on Marley level...... I will tr again later today thankyou for caring enough to try and rectify this problem.... Carolyn

thanks a lot for adjustments tonight. Its soo much better what was in the morning! :) thank you for listening!

Hey Rob, the adjustment of what ever you have done looks a little better and reasonable. Last time a 2Ktp dog trailing at marley level was loosing money even when it won. but now its at least earning its keep. What they are at now lets me buy enough food for my kennel, and some scene items and also lets me to be able to purchase a few items to stock my shop with so I can earn bones.

I am sure the economy thing is very tricky but is also very delicate as well. I have a few suggestions I might put up on restoring the economy to a more profitable stance for both you as the owner and us game users paying and not.

Working

Again thanks for listening to your users, Robyn, it's what keeps me here, personally.

I had the idea, that perhaps if people continue having issues earning cash, that maybe once the trial fee reaches a certain point (around the time that most users find their dogs losing money, or maybe close to the trial score for a foundation?), to have the entry fee stop increasing, and stay at a set point? That way, as long as the dog kept winning, an increase in winnings [that is to say, the score multiplier] wouldn't be necessary, nor would the dog be winning much more than it was in the beginning. Just an idea I thought I'd throw out there.

Responding to POSITIVE recommendations and complaints (i.e. not "I'm gonna quit"), I've raised the trial rewards. I want you to profit, but it can't be like before, it would destroy the economy.

Gosh, I was just making a bit of profit for the very first time. I had hoped my kennels could become self-supporting. Now I'm going to have to spend everything on food.

I think maybe a broader range. If the tiers are too small I think a lot of trials may end up sitting. I think '500 or less', '600-1000', '2000-500', '6000-9000 (aka cap)'. That is just if there is enough interest and it's somehow implemented. It's a tricky situation because you want to make it where people can earn profits but not enough as to where it throws things out or whack or to where it lets people with capped dogs block out the people with lower tp. Just throwing it out there =)

is it going to be less money earned the higher in trials dogs get?

I only made 92 dollars on 3 Marley trails today! I can't even feed my dogs anymore, and the price hikes have made it impossible for my to feed my dogs. If this isn't fixed, I officially quit. 8P

I was finally making a profit from trialing, and now with the cutbacks I can barely make enough. I liked how it was before. =/

I really love your idea kaitie!

As for trials, I don't run them at all. There's either A)Not enough trials for my dogs to actually be entered in without it just bein them In it. Or B)There's no income at all

All of the money I have ever had on Ala came from breeding and selling, it's not like there's any other way to get it now, I don't know how people have loads of cash or how they manage to keep it. The mere $1-3k I get per pup rarely is hardly enough to keep bringing more good dogs in to train and breed, just to get more money in hopes I'll save up for something worth my while.

I was so thrilled when the trial winnings were finally fixed where I could make a steady profit. Now they're cut back where I barely break even. With the dramatic increase in ala cash prices and the cutting of trial winnings I can't buy anything and make my money back. Just going to horde it, I suppose.

I trialed my dogs this morning and the results seemed very much the same (well, I got lots less money). My dogs that didn't place didn't get any money - only a boost in a skill. If this has been implemented already, then something isn't working like it should. If it hasn't been implemented, just ignore me >.<

No I thought I was gaining money but now I am losing money again D:

I thought you had increased it? :(

08-19-2011 at 4:33 AM
Has this been implemented?

My trails winning have dramatically decreased where I'm not even breaking even now (ie having to take more money out of the bank to cover entry fees than I win) where before I was making 30-50k a day trialing 38 dogs

Odie and Toto level I have approx 10 dogs trialing so its all my own dogs in the trials

I believe should if there be tiers put in place, it should be optional and not mandatory

As when some users get to higher levels, the dogs that enter become scarcer if not non-existent and players tend to use their own fillers to make the trial run immediately at that point.

Should they not have the same tier dog, they will have an open trial sat there for an entire day with the inability to create more on their own to do anything else. ^^;

Though on the other hand, if there were tiers in place, there would also be consequently nothing stopping anyone from rearing dogs just under the trial limit to run for continuous unopposed wins either.

I support what Katie said. It irritates me to no end when people enter their dogs into my trials and their dogs have 1000TP. Sometimes I just fill up 2 more slots with my dogs [wasting money] to keep the TP monsters out. I think if it were like... 0-100, 101-200, 201-300, 301-400, etc, that would make it awesome to trial fairly.

Good idea Kaitie, KNIW I entered one trial the other day with a high tp dog not seeing tp numbers in name of trial until entered.
