Can SOMETHING be done to prevent monster dogs from tearing a part the trials?
I can;t enter my dogs in trials because there is at least 2 dogs or so with 8999 TP entering and its obvious that they are waterbowled, and then they breed, and then those pups are waterbowled.
And its annoying because someone like me, who hand maxes ALL of her dogs, has to deal with this while I'm just trying to makke money.
And what about the newbies? They can't enter an trials either because none of them can afford a monster dog, let alone a waterbowl unless they donate.
And with the monster dogs being for sale now, the population is going to grow since more users have them, and eventually, there are going to be trials with only dogs with 8999 TP in them.
Any suggestions as to how we can prevent monster dogs from overriding the site? I know I have 3k TP dog but I don't enter EVERY high TP dog I have in a trial just because I can, especially if there are newbies in a trial. :/
My suggestions: Make monster dog trials SEPARATE from regular trials. There's more than enough of them to fit in their own trials.
And it's not like they won't benefit. They still have $16k a trial either way. :/
My opinion: I myself am not fond of people who waterbowl TP capped dogs and then breed, and then have more TP capped dogs, and waterbowl those, and so on and so forth. EVEN WORSE are the dogs that are inbred and are still bred and water bowled. I myself am okay with food bowls, but I believe using waterbowls kills the point of this website. I like training my dogs and then trialing them to show my hardwork. In some cases (I have seen), waterbowl costs are covered when TP capped dogs are sold. So people don't even have to donate any more to get waterbowls? So now everyone can get a high TP dog and kill trials without much effort? IF that's the case and if it gets to become more and more popular, then I'm leaving. Because it's not fair to those who choose to work hard and take their time and are just "shot down" for putting effort into it.
Any suggestions/opinions?
Other Ideas:
A TP marker of how low/high the TP has to be for trials

Clay, the main problem I have with waterbowling is not the fact that it maxes a dog automatically, but when someone has a dog 8 months old trialing, its different from a dog who is 110 months old with the same TP and is hand trained.

I think the cap should be lowered, possibly. This way, there is more of a fair chance between a dog with the highest TP possible, and a dog a newbie can have.

And as for the issues with the newbies not being able to trail into certain trials is not because they don't have TP capped dogs, but because they don't have dogs who can beat those monster dogs. Its easy to get into odie, and it takes a while to get out. If there are 300+ monster dogs trialing in odie a day, then who is to say the number won't rise.

I'm not suggesting to remove the waterbowl option, in fact, I think its awesome.

But as someone who is trying to get to the TP cap with pitbulls, I myself do not want to overtake all of ala's trials because I have high TP dogs.

@Clay, since hand training takes longer, dogs can only trial until they are 20 years and you can take off a LOT trying to train a high TP dogs with limited amount of TS whereas others can trial for the full 20 years with a MWB. And I agree with Evlon in a way but there should be a TP slot in a way.

I can;t enter my dogs in trials because there is at least 2 dogs or so with 8999 TP entering and its obvious that they are waterbowled, and then they breed, and then those pups are waterbowled.
Does it matter that they're waterbowled? Waterbowl is basically just really fast maxing. Would it be different if they were hand-maxed? You'd still see them in trials.

And what about the newbies? They can't enter an trials either because none of them can afford a monster dog, let alone a waterbowl unless they donate.
They don't have to buy monster dogs, nobody does. There are plenty of trials to enter, I'm positive not all of them have monster dogs filling them up. [Because monster dogs climb the trial levels so fast]

And with the monster dogs being for sale now, the population is going to grow since more users have them, and eventually, there are going to be trials with only dogs with 8999 TP in them.
Not for long. See above. ^^^

EVEN WORSE are the dogs that are inbred and are still bred and water bowled.
I don't understand the correlation with inbred, waterbowled, TP-capped dogs and trials being filled with monster-dogs?

I myself am okay with food bowls, but I believe using waterbowls kills the point of this website.
I don't think so, but I do think over-breeding the monster-TP dogs kills the economy.
Personally, when I breed up to higher TP dogs, I want to have a waterbowl handy to max them. [So far I've hand-trained all of my dogs.]

Waterbowl costs are covered when TP capped dogs are sold. So people don't even have to donate any more to get waterbowls?
I agree with this part. I don't like this part of the tp-capped trials.

Because it's not fair to those who choose to work hard and take their time and are just "shot down" for putting effort into it.
What about people who work hard and purchase water-bowls through doing art/training for the bones? That's considered working hard.

I don't know what kind of advice to give aside from "make TP markers for trials". I don't know what to say about capped dogs killing the economy with their winnings.
Look a while back at the rare dog auction. There were people who were making so much off of trialing monster dog teams that they were bidding more than 25 million on the dog.
It's a shame I gotta say it, but they're really killing the site, IMO. Perhaps the capped TP could be lowered?

I have a literal army of 1.5k-3k dogs that I actively show and win with. The way I do this is A) find trials with lower TP dogs and then enter them, or preferably B) Enter show with 5 dogs. Either way involves filling the trial so people can't snipe me with the higher TP. If you leave a trial open, then you are going to get people with dogs of TPs in the 3 digits and people with capped dogs.

Also there is a failure in the logic that capped dogs will take over on ala. Water bowls are costly and rare. Yes, I could mill a ton of capped dogs. Doesn't mean I have 35 bones (or more) to drop on all of them for the cost of a MWB. Trust me, if you drop the bones to train that dog, it is not going to return that cost to you in the long run of things. I find it much cheaper and cost efficient to train 3k dogs, show them until they are too old, and repeat, you come out ahead money wise.

I have a 8.8k TP dog and am FAR from a waterbowl and the only way I can get him maxed is through buying a trainer which even then is costly. i think people should be able to set the highest/lowest amount of TP a dog can have to enter.

ex. a trial maker sets the thing to highest- 5k TP lowest- 1k TP, only dogs withing THAT range can enter the trial but there may be problems with those because owners would create low trial TPs so their low TP dogs can enter and win.
