Make ignore-list updating private -- IMPLEMENTED
Started By
I've noticed that when a user is put on your no-sell list, it shows this publicly in your user-logs. My suggestion is to make this hidden/private [except to mods/admins, maybe?]. Leaving it public can lead to innocent people being put on no-sell lists because user X doesn't like user Y for some personal reason and user Z sees this. It can also lead to "why am I on your no-sell list?!?! > :I" messages.
I have put my side account #6375 on my no-sell list and then took it off the list, so you can see that I'm not lying.
"10-8-2011 8:48 PM : Removed player #6375 from my "no sell list".
10-8-2011 8:48 PM : Add player #6375 to my "no sell list"."

I can prevent it from printing on records.<br /> <br /> There isn't a way to make it private on logs unfortunately, but if it is removed you can always check the status of it on the block/no sell list itself.<br /> <br /> Would that be acceptable?

<i>"Uhm...not really, I kind of meant that usually when someone is blocked by enough people that it makes a difference in their gameplay, they turn to everyone with the doe eyes and can't imagine why, it's usually that they're rude or something and don't realize it."</i><br /> They can see that they're blocked if they attempt to messsage the user,<br /> The reasons I block people may be different from the reasons you block people.

<i>"And if everyone does, maybe you should re-examine your behavior."<br /> <br /> Like how someone plays the game? :) I personally play for high tp and coats, some people only play for coats.. although that isn't bad, I wouldn't want that person breeding with my lines because they don't take TP into consideration.<br /> I wouldn't waht that user to be seen as a "bad user" by another person simply because they don't play the game I play it.<br /> </i><br /> <br /> Uhm...not really, I kind of meant that usually when someone is blocked by enough people that it makes a difference in their gameplay, they turn to everyone with the doe eyes and can't imagine why, it's usually that they're rude or something and don't realize it. With the ala community being the way it is, anyone who's social enough {this comes from a lurker. XD.} to even glance through the forums more than likely understands that if they choose, for example, to breed by coat, that some users will not be supportive of this. Also, I don't think of it as a 'bad' person, that's why there's a blocked and no-sell list separate, one's for business and shouldn't be taken personally, the other is for..well, personal and should be taken that way, I guess. :P<br /> <br /> I don't see why this is a bad feature, besides it would be based by the general public on a criteria that could lead to many demands, but I don't know that the benefit of it would outweigh the work needed to code it in. :3

I don't support, actually....it seems like the basis of the feature would be to prevent annoyance and hurt feelings...if that's so, there are SO many situations where major things could be changed because they were annoying or hurtful for someone. There are hundreds of people on Alacrity, and if one or two adds you to a no-sell list because someone else did, that doesn't mean everyone will. And if everyone does, maybe you should re-examine your behavior. If you're taking such a step as to add someone to a no-sell list, I would reason that you'd like it to be known to them that they aren't welcome in your kennel, basically responding to a message before it's sent...I think...that came out wrong. Just my two cents. ^-^

I agree - if it prevents even 1 person from hurt feelings then it is worth doing :)
