Blade trudged though the deep snow. His toes had almost gone numb in the cold, and the night air was closing around him. He stopped briefly to survey his surroundings in the hopes of getting his bearings, but the blizzard like conditions were still too bad to see far though the falling snow, and the wind whipped around him too unpredictably to follow any kind of sent trail. He sighed and continued on. He was sure he had seen mountains in this direction, and maybe there he would find shelter. A cave, or perhaps simply some trees, anything but the open terrain he was currently in. He shivered, shifting part of the blanket of snow that had turned his yellow coat white. What was he doing in a place like this? He belonged to a place far away from here, a much warmer place, a place that seemed like a world away now. He had no right to be in a place like this, with so much snow, and certainly without his winter coat. He simply wasn’t designed for these conditions! He let the anger simmer gently in the back of his mind, his only source of warmth in this place. It didn’t matter now anyway, the events leading up to this, his quest, his friends… nothing. The only thing that mattered was finding somewhere warm enough that he didn’t die in this frozen hell. A dark shape loomed out of the white out and Blade’s spirits lifted slightly, was this the face of the side of the mountain?
