Blade trudged though the deep snow. His toes had almost gone numb in the cold, and the night air was closing around him. He stopped briefly to survey his surroundings in the hopes of getting his bearings, but the blizzard like conditions were still too bad to see far though the falling snow, and the wind whipped around him too unpredictably to follow any kind of sent trail. He sighed and continued on. He was sure he had seen mountains in this direction, and maybe there he would find shelter. A cave, or perhaps simply some trees, anything but the open terrain he was currently in. He shivered, shifting part of the blanket of snow that had turned his yellow coat white. What was he doing in a place like this? He belonged to a place far away from here, a much warmer place, a place that seemed like a world away now. He had no right to be in a place like this, with so much snow, and certainly without his winter coat. He simply wasn’t designed for these conditions! He let the anger simmer gently in the back of his mind, his only source of warmth in this place. It didn’t matter now anyway, the events leading up to this, his quest, his friends… nothing. The only thing that mattered was finding somewhere warm enough that he didn’t die in this frozen hell. A dark shape loomed out of the white out and Blade’s spirits lifted slightly, was this the face of the side of the mountain? If so shelter might not be far off… ((Rules/guidelines: Maximum of three characters, per player, at a time. Minimum reply length of 3 lines. Fantasy and magical characters encouraged. ((OoC: Yup, just the size of a normal snow leopard. Also, her speech comes off a little curt/harsh, but she's got a crow-like voice. Thought I'd mention she's more like a goofy trickster than actually malicious. :B))

"Another form?" she repeated aloud, a bit of incredulous inquisitiveness sneaking through in her tone; she was nothing if not nosy.

Head snapping back quickly toward Blade as he approached, she eyed him for a moment. Finally she nodded, as if satisfied that he was, indeed, a canine and turned with a quick flick of her tail.

"This way. The path's a bit icy, but not too steep. And it should..." she trailed off, craning her neck to look up to where the dragon's voice had come from. "...lead us to the caverns. You need only travel a little farther toward the east, along the lee of the cliff. The caverns are close, if you are where I think you are."

Pausing only a moment, she nods her head at the path...a slightly-less-steep area that seems sheltered a bit from all the ice.

"You first," she states with a click of her beak that seems to signify a grin.

(I edited Dakar a bit, and last night I tried to draw a picture of his normal demon form. I flushed his character out last night, and decided to remove the longer hair.)

((I suggest posting in the order that people join in, unless anyone objects? Although I’m not too fussed if the order is mixed up a little to reply to people talking to you etc.))

“A dragon..?” Blade muttered under his breath. He had to admit that he was mildly curious as to what one looked like, and if they were truly as formidable as they claim, but right now there were more important things pressing on his mind. No matter what his curiosity though, he wasn’t willing to be carried by anyone, and was relived to hear the other voice offer another solution. He moved closer towards the voice until he could make see the outline of the other creature, it had been a lot closer then he had thought, he realised.

“That is a gracious offer.” He replied gratefully, and wagged his tail once to show it.
“Lead the way.”

((By the way, how big is Rhea? I’m guessing the size of a snow leopard?))
Dakar was just starting to settle when he heard footsteps. He quickly transformed into his average canine form. His body got extremely hot and it hurt as his horns disappeared into himself.
He got to his feet, and starred down the entrance to the old worn out shack.
A fleshy face popped around to corner, a smile spread from both side's of its face.
Phew it's just a human, Dakar thought to himself.
He ran out of the shack and past the curious bystander.
He jogged slowly until he was out of sight; then he went full speed. Not knowing where he was going.

12-22-2010 at 10:55 AM
The other voice offered to help, but then offered shelter. Killer didn't know if his hulking frame could fit inside of a cave, but maybe his Worgen form could. About twice the size of a human, his Worgen form is for those tight situations where a Dragons size may come to a disadvantage. It's also scary fast on the ground. Even though he is much leaner than most dragons, he is still large and his wings don't help either.

"That is kind of you to offer, where are said caverns located? I may be able to fit...In a different form." he replied.

He was getting quite tired of the snow pelting his eyes and scales. He must be hard for the others to see; his white stripes blending with the snow, and his teal could blend with what little sky is visible.

12-22-2010 at 9:41 AM
Rhea sat quietly in the snow and ice for a moment, following the unfolding situation with perked ears, curiosity plain on her face. She wasn't one to offer assistance, because she wasn't really that concerned with the fates of others...however, inquisitiveness could be a powerful motivator.

Dragon-kind, she mentally repeated, eyes widening just slightly before she stood, pushing herself up and off the rock to make her way closer to the voices she'd heard, angling somewhat down toward the canid one. They didn't seem used to this climate and terrain; perhaps she could assist.

"If you need a way up, there are plenty," she called out as she got closer, able to make out the stranger's outline in the driving snow, now. "We are not far from caves where you would be safer than here, body heat or no. Although..."

She paused, glancing up, tail tip swaying as she considered the speaker she could not see.

"How large a cavern dragons might require is beyond me."

((OoC: Lots more posts! And I was curious about posting order, too. I think, right now, it's just reply to whomever is talking to you...))

12-22-2010 at 7:55 AM
Killer could barley make out the figures who spoke to him.

"I am of Dragon-kind, and I mean no threat." he replied to one voice. He sat and waited for a response from either figure. He thought he may be putting to much trust, to soon into this unknown stranger. But he could not turn down someone in the cold, or in any negative situation; his heart would not allow it.

“I’m afraid I can not r-reach you. I would have to try climbing elsewhere.” he could hear the effects of the cold show in it's voice.

"Hmm..."he thought for a moment "Well, I doubt you would trust me to lift you...." he spoke hesitantly.
-

(( Is there a certain order we are going in? ))

(ooc: I think I shall close this to new entries after this post, as I think we have enough members for now. Also lol Blade is normally such a large creature, but I think he has been drafted by just about eveyone! XD)

So the two were not together, and neither seemed to consider him a threat. Blade sighed under his breath in relief. This was good news after all.

“I am neither, I am Deron” he replied to the raspy voice in the white, then after a short pause he added.
“A canine.” He was aware that his kind was no longer well known, as their numbers were so few now, and didn’t want to cause confusion.

The offer to share body heat above him, seemed surprisingly genuine however, and Blade squinted up at the figure trying to see what had made it. His mind attempting to twist and contort it into a shape he recognised. Of course Blade had been told stories of dragons when he still young and lived in his parent’s territory, even that one had supposedly been brought down in his valley, defeated by hunters and men. But he had never seen one himself, and bleached white, sent-less bones meant nothing to a creature like him, so he had nothing to base this creature on. Blade was not a nervous creature by nature, in fact his relatively large and muscular size often meant that he could easily dominate other animals without fear of being beaten in a fight, or that on the occasions he did, that he was able to escape with surprising speed. But on this hill, where he could see nearly nothing of the creature in front of him, in a place that was alien and where his body was near exhaustion, he did not like the idea of taking a chance. The creature must surely be a predator, for it had not run away from Blade’s bark, and he had understood Blade’s language easily, something not common in the more herbivorous animals. Blade was also certain that the creature was much bigger then he, so perhaps it was more dinner, then sleep, this creature was considering. Even so, the offer was tempting and he examined cliff in more detail. The sides at this point were shear for the most part, and although he found that there were some foot holds available to him, they were mostly placed too far apart to be much use. A more nimble animal could possibly climb here, or even he had the weather been clearer, but it seemed far too dangerous to try now.

“I’m afraid I can not r-reach you.” He called out to the figure above. “I would have to try climbing elsewhere.” A slight tremor had entered his voice, but it was not fear, but cold causing it.
Dakar made his way through the tall grass, it whipped his face and fur but it didn't bother him. In fact he oddly enjoyed it. A half smile crossed his face.
The air started to get colder and he looked up over the grass. There were several large, snow capped mountains in his foreground. He did a 360 degree survey of the land and spotted an old beaten up shack.
He made his way over and pushed the door open with his nose; and peered in. It was vacant; he curled up in the far left corner and closed his eyes.

Character:

Name: Dakar

Species: He isn't sure; he had his memory erased.

Personality: It is extremely hard to gain his trust, confident, feisty; always ready for a fight but he isn't a fight starter. He has his own brand of humor.

Abilities: He can turn into a dog; looks like a normal dog but he is much much stronger. He can make his eyes glow red, but he doesn't know what it means yet.

Appearance: His natural form is built like a dog but he is about 360lbs at his lightest, about the size of a medium sized horse.
He has horns placed behind his ears that point towards the back of his body and curl at the end. They are thick for ramming and have a ringed look like a ram. A horn about 5 inches long on the end of his nose.
His face actually looks friendly; but his horns and size are what make him intimidating.

And he has wings(he can fly), they are red with pieces missing. Rather demon like.

History: He doesn't know; he had is memory erased and woke up in the middle of nowhere. He hasn't seen himself; and has no idea what he is.

Here is a picture for a body and color reference.(hes basically a demon version of my dog; who you can see more pictures of on my main account)

This is his dog form.

(( Here is just a little bit of info about Quarantine C: Also, I aplogize for my grammar, is not the best at all. :C))

Name: Quarantine

Species: Hellhound

Height/Weight: The same height/weight as a average draft horse such as a Clydesdale

Personality: When you think of hellhounds you usually think of crazy blood thirsty monsters who do nothing but start chaos. Quarantine, though having a few 'devilish' habits such as making a mess of his dinner and enjoying the taste of blood, is by no means a monster. He is rather smart and quick tongued with tad bit of a lazy streak. He loves conversation and spending time simply exploring. He can, if you push him the wrong way however, have a bit of a temper and like any other hellhound, he can be very dangerous, even life threatening. He doesn't take it all to his head and gloat about how big or strong he is. He despises anyone who is like that.

History: He would tell you its nothing special but in fact its very heartbreaking and emotional. Something such as this will only be spoken to others who gain his up-most trust.

Appearance: I dont know if this link will work but-

CLICK

The blistering winds that twisted and snapped at the hellhound's fur did nothing of the sort. This mighty beast was quite used to the bone chilling weather and rather enjoyed it. His spiked like mane whipped in the blizzards breeze while he sat and turned his massive skull, depicting in which direction he should go.

He had no place particular to head to but with his stomach roaring just and loud as he, it was certain that his hunger was in need of taming. In the white blanket of snow, seeing his huge and black coated frame was easy to notice. Even the blindest creature in the most horrid storm could see him miles away. Did this frighten old Quarantine? Oh heavens no.

For there was no creature in his neck of the woods that would dare challenge him and all that did never lived to tell the tale. This did not mean a hellhound such as him was 'crazy' and 'blood thirsty'. Quite the contrary! Look at him now, mind deep in thought. His stomach awoken him from is mid day dreams by giving him a painful kick of starvation.

Chuckling slightly, Quarantine headed north. It took him only moments to spot a golden figure shivering in the cold. Tilting his large head, his long legs began to slowly carry him towards the mysterious creature.

Killer stretched his long powerful neck over the cliff and looked down.
He finally heard a reply.

“Hello?” The voice was confident, and strong;

Killer squinted; this snow was blinding and he was not used to it. He lived in a land that was always sunny.

“I’m apologize if I’ve entered your territory, but I wondered if there was anywhere I could rest?” He was barley able to make out a yellow figure against the mountain's surface.

"This territory does not belong to me; you are free to join me on this ledge. It may not be much but our body heat will help somewhat." He wasn't expecting this new stranger to accept his offer. At this point Killer wasn't worried about any threats; and if it was a real threat he would of been attacked by now.

Suddenly he remembered; he heard the faint sound of footsteps shortly after he spoke. They were off in the distance, but he decided to leave whatever owned those feet alone.

(Out of Character: I love your descriptions! I am writing a book; so I've been trying to pick up on little things that would improve it.)
A firm voice caught Rhea's attention, her head snapping up and blinking hard against the snow blowing into her vision. She had tried to position herself out of the majority of the blizzard's wrath, but there was only so much one could do...

Clacking her beak together a couple more times, she ventured closer still upon hearing what she assumed to be the canine's reply. Her small, round ears perking forward, she called out in a slightly raspy voice.
"This is the territory of many, but unless you are bird or feline, it's none of my concern."

Perching, finally, on a crag of rock, under the slight shelter of a leaning pine, she seemed to be as satisfied with her chances there as any. Rhea was wary, but you know what they say about curiosity and cats...and crows are worse by tenfold.

12-21-2010 at 1:58 AM
Blade swivelled his head back along the length of the cliff, was that the sound of a bird he had just heard? Or the distant sound of a dislodged rock under someone’s paw? Unconsciously he took a step back and let out a small whine as uncertainty entered his mind. Perhaps it hadn’t been so smart to announce himself like that, he didn’t know what lived in a place like this after all. Ok… so he didn’t want to get eaten by some creature for sleeping in the wrong cave, but he didn’t want to attract their attention unnecessarily either…

Briefly he considered running, although he knew there was no where to run to, and that if there truly was something foreboding out there, it would easily out pace his exhausted body within its own territory. No, he had made his choice, and now he had to face whatever it brought. A voice from above made him look up again, breaking his train of thought. The strong un-menacing voice sounded almost comforting in the frozen land, but it was no time to let his guard down. The storm seemed to beginning to die down a bit now, or perhaps had just changed direction, the cliff edge now blocking some of its effects. Either way, the visibility was starting to improve, and the dark shapes looming out of the white, were beginning to gain more definition, though still not enough to see by. He tilted his head, trying to see past the snow, to see who has just called out, and thought he saw some vague shape moving somewhere above him. He had no choice but to reply.

“Hello?” He replied, his voice was strong and confident, and didn’t betray any of his doubts.
“I’m apologise if I’ve entered your territory, but I wondered if there was anywhere I could rest?”

It seemed like the best thing to say, if this was the territory holder, then perhaps he wouldn’t mind so much if Blade made it clear that he was just passing though.

12-20-2010 at 9:25 PM
Shortly after landing Killer heard a noise, at first it was unknown to him. Then he remembered a similar sound when he flew over a village, a dog had barked at him. What would one be doing in the mountains?
Carefully, he turned his muscular body around on the tiny ledge and peered over.
"Hello?" he spoke in a non-challenging but strong voice.

12-20-2010 at 3:06 PM
The somewhat familiar sound of a canine's bark snapped Rhea awake in an instant. Despite the sound itself being well-known to her, she could not place its owner, and that meant it was time for investigation. Standing and shaking out her shaggy coat, the large creature's huge paws made little sound as she paced quickly and quietly to the front of the cavern she'd taken shelter in for the night. Little more than a niche in the side of the cliff, really, but it was more than ample for her needs.

Pausing at the mouth of her temporary abode, she clacked her beak a couple of times, small ears swiveling here and there. The gryphon was an odd sight: a mixture of elegant power and comical curiosity. Her rear half was spotted and mottled like the snow leopards who also inhabited this area, but the front...was not quite as mystically impressive. The inquisitive head of a crow turned this way and that, tilting almost exaggeratedly to the side as she searched the near-white conditions for any sign of the possible intruder. She had forelimbs and talons to complete the odd, mottled mix, but lacked the wings most other gryphons sported. She was made for climbing and ground-hunting, not flying.

Nothing for it but to go and see, then, she mused with a quiet rasp under her breath. Squinting her green-gray eyes against the harsh wind, she hopped down, from precarious perch to icy precipice, in search of...well, whomever it was she was in search of.

12-20-2010 at 2:29 AM
Blade hugged the side of the cliff face as he looked for a crack or inlay that would prove him shelter, when a huge gust from the landing dragon forced a large layer of snow off the ledge above him. It landed on top of him with a soft thump and almost completely covered him, but it wasn’t too hard to free himself from it. Blade shook his coat as he pulled himself out and sneezed as some of the snow went up his nose. He would have thought nothing more of it, but was that just a whiff of a sent on the air? He sniffed the snow more carefully for a clue then lifted his head in the direction of where it had come. The falling snow still made it too hard to see anything but the dim looming outline of the cliff and he considered whether it would wise to announce his presence to a potential unseen foe. In the end the cold in body decided for him, and he curiously barked out to the cliff before listening for an answer.

12-20-2010 at 12:53 AM
Killer had been flying for what felt like several days; he's tired and he hasn't eaten. His eye's surveyed the ground for a spot to land. He spotted a ledge; he tucked in his wings and rocketed down. He opened his wings just in time to land softly on the hard stone. His wings were hot, his muscles had been working strongly; longer than they are used to. But he had to get away from that horrible place.
