I hadn't ridden a horse in a while, if you count ridding a little pony on a tether at a county fair ridding a horse.<br />I saw a gray spotted horse in one of the stalls that Chloe was guiding me to. It didn't snort or pout when I can closer. I stroked him on the nose and on the side of the face, still no negative reaction.<br />"Your going to have to help me mount him."

I saw Olive approach Cacciatore.I stroked him trying to keep him calm.When Olive drew closer Cacciatore pawed the ground of his stall.I continued to stroke him and eventually he calmed down completely.I smiled and took him out of his stall.I held him steady and ran to get a saddle and bridle.When he was ready I turned to Olive.Would you like to ride?"I asked walking to the stall of my trainer's horse,Sage, a grey spotted gentle horse.

Cacciatore freaked out when he saw me. The same way he did when he first saw me. I approached slowly and held my hand out to Cacciatore for him to smell me. I held back a little, afraid that he might bite.

"No not yet I will be in a couple days though."Olive tried to make small talk maybe to lighten my mood.We pulled up to the barn's driveway and cut the engine.<br />"Thank you my adoptive parents have been getting on my nerves lately I'm glad I can get out with someone."I got out and went to Cacciatore's stall.He whinnied a greeting I scratched his head but then he smelled dog.He started to freak out.<br />"Hey boy it's okay it's okay."I calmed him down stroking his neck.<br />"Be nice Cacciatore this is my friend okay?"I said in a whisper Cacciatore just snorted but calmed down enough.

I heard Chloe and her parents yelling outside the car.<br />She tossed me my hat as she started the car again. There was a scowl on her face and I could tell that her parents were on her nerves. As I put my hat back on I noticed a little tear in it. I ignored it and sliped my hat on.<br />"...Your not 16?" She looked atleast 16 and I never knew how old she was or what grade she was in. I tried to start some simple small talk to get her mind off what happened on the side of the road.

Once he was in the car we drove.Olive and I didn't talk but when I felt the window open and heard a slight whimper.I pulled over.Olive was sitting there covering his eras because his hat had fallen off.<br />"Stay here I'll go get it you can't be noticed like this."I said and stepped out.I walked along the roadside looking at the ground for the hat finally I found it.It was dusty but not to bad except for a small tear I frowned that tear could get bigger and ruin the hat but it'll have to do for now.I started my walk back to the car.Then I heard something a car approaching rapidly Uh-oh Gina..I turned knew she'd she the car and go insane and there was no way to get to Olive and tell him to leave I thought up my best excuse as she neared.<br />"Hello Gina."<br />"What are you doing with my husband's car?"she asked stepping out of her own car.<br />"Um driving to the barn."<br />"You aren't old enough to drive though!"she yelled angrily.I rolled my eyes. <br />"So I'm close enough my 16th birthday is just days away!"I yelled.She looked over at the car I knew she could probably see Olive through the windows I just hoped she couldn't see his ears.<br />"Who's with you?"she asked studily.<br />"A friend from school.I told him he could come with me to take Cacciatore out.Maybe give him a lesson or two."I said averting my eyes.<br />"Him?"<br />"Gina I'm not a little kid I can take care of myself I don't need you around to help me!"I yelled.That threw her off she sighed and stalked back off to her car.<br />"Just be home in time for dinner."She said before she drived away.<br />"I'm sick of you people!"I yelled venting my anger.I walked back to the car and slammed the door unintentionally.I gave Olive his hat back and started the car again.

I pick my bag and sax up and put in the back seat of her car. I sat in the passenger side of the car and she started it.<br />I was too distracted during the car ride by the scenery passing by to make any small talk or eye contact. When Chloe wasn't looking, I rolled down the window and stuck my head out the window. I had my mouth open and chomped at the air. I felt my hat loosen off my head and before I could catch it, my hat flew off and was far behind us. I stuck my head back in the car and turned to Chloe. I let out a small wimper and slowly put my hands on the top of my head to cover my ears.

He got up and smiled patting Terry.I was so glad Gina wasn't home she'd probably freak out but I was responsible and could be trusted even my own parents knew that.I walked out the door with the keys to Gina's other car.I hopped in and waited for Olive.

I saw and heard Chloe coming down the stairs, she looked much more lively than she did earlier. I smiled as I gave Terry one last pat on the head and got up.<br />I was suprized that she let me come to her house, seeing as we had just met and her parent or someone may get suspicious of a guy being home alone with a young girl. I tried to put the thought out of my head, knowing that I could probably escape the situation if a problem ever arose: take my stuff and run, like I have times before.

I'd be lying if I said I rushed.I took my time changing into some grey jeans with a flowing shirt.I even put some lipstick on.When I looked in the mirror I looked better than I ever had.My long hair was in curls the green streaks showing more than usual.I put on my riding gloves and went downstairs.I saw Olive sitting on the couch peetting Terry.I took a deep breath and entered the living room.<br />"Hey ready to go?"I asked.Then I realized what I was doing I barely knew this guy why was I acting like this?I smiled and waited for him.

I got off and followed Chloe to her house. I saw and heard Terry. It made me smile seeing him so well. I sat on the chouch and ruffled up the fur on his head as I waited for Chloe.

Finally the bus stopped.I got off and waited for Olive then made my way to the house I opened the door and Terry barked a greeting I patted him and smiled just make yourself comfortable I have to go and somethings before we can go.

I sat in the seat across the aisle from her and looked out the window too. The bus roared up and started leaving the school parking lot. I drummed on the case of my saxophone with my thumbs and yawned. I was eager to get to Chloe's and the bus ride seemed to be dragging on into infinity.

I dazed through my last class like an other class I had. When the bell rang I walked to my locker, then band locker, then to the buses where I saw Chloe waiting and looking around, probably for me. I shift my heavy sax from one hand to the next and walked to her.

I was still in hiding when I smelled big cat.Oh no whoever it was smelled like a lion.I ran from my hiding spot as far as I could I didn't like lions or other big cats for that matter.I ran to a large staircase at the furthest point of the school campus and waited for the bell to ring.The time ticked away slowly.But finally the bell rang I raced up to the front office gave a lady my signed paper and fled.I stopped outside the bus waiting for Olive.

I yawned and said bye to Chloe when the bell rang. I left history and headed to my last bell. On my way there I passed a girl. At first I didn't expect anything, just a girl walking in the hall, but when I passed her I smelled big cat. I turned around to see her but she was already gone. I sighed it off and kept walking to my last bell.

Olive nodded off to sleep and I would have to if I was going crazy.The teacher gave a lesson I already knew.It was the lesson that I got the day my parents died.I guess I should hate history after that but it was stupid to hate something that coincedently happened to be on the same day.The bell rang finally.I was free for the last class since it was gym.The lady said I could go to any other class I wanted for the rest of the day.I chose art and said goodbye to Olive after class.I walked in silence to the art class but when I got mixed up on where it was gave up and walked around school hiding in dark corners waiting for the bell to ring.

In history, I was half asleep and my mind was out the window and in the clouds. I was glad that Chloe was in my class and that I had something to do after school. I was biding my time and waiting for the bell to ring so I could go to my last class then go to Chloe's house.
