He continued on for another fifteen feet, into a real shady area, until a small, bare limb caught his side. The pain was almost unbearable as an open flame on flesh would be. Yet he refused to stop, for he knew that the pain only meant he was still alive.

"Did you hear that beta?" Fly growled. "You bet I did." Austin replied, his white coat fluffing up.

He tried to run for a bit, but slowed his pace when he stumbled and almost fell. He cursed silently after he recovered.

On return from a strange mission Austin, Gabby, Josie, Stark, and Fly arrived at camp.

Phenomenon and Laylie decided to leave the camp and head out. "It sure is nice out here." Laylie commented. "I agree. I like the breeze in the air." Phenomenon said.

The black wolf limped every hundred steps. Its breathing was somewhat irregular here and there.

Luna and her patrol went to an open field where the small patrol spotted mule deer. "Here's the plan. Matsi, take Zyra and go to the right, Echo come with me and when I give the signal we go for the deer I choose."

Another wolf glided through the trees on the opposite border of the forest. Its black fur made it blend into the shadows except for a single blue line that ran its back. It was moving fast, but was leaving a trail. A red one.
