Role Play Introduction:

This RP takes place on Maui, Hawaii. The characters either have lived or just moved to Maui, or will arrive in Maui shortly. All the character's received an scholarship invite to Archer Bay Academy. A school for those with special/unique talents. The dean of the school is always looking out for teens who stand out from the rest.

When our characters first enter the school they meet in the assembly to great one another for the first time. Then in small groups lead by a staff member to the dorms (girls upstairs and the boys downstairs-east wing). Two per room, to save space and to use the buddy system.

For the first two weeks everything was going normal. Then things started to feel a bit off. The teachers began to act cold and distant, students slowly start to decrease as time passes on by. Our characters soon realize that there is something up with Archer Bay Academy (or for short ABA). Eventually the characters start to form a small investigation group when they start noticing that they have the same gut feeling. Their actions don't go unnoticed.

As our characters searched for answers terrible accidents began to occur. Objectives falling from out of nowhere, cars nearly running you over or being locked in the cafeteria freezer etc. A couple of months of fighting off attackers and near death experiences things go quiet once again. Just when our characters think they'll be able to have a break the dean plans their demise.

One afternoon the dean announces that he'll be drawing names of students. The winners will be going on a five month marine research boat trip across the Pacific and Atlantic ocean. He then calls out the names over the intercom to report to the office. Even though it seemed like a great opportunity the scary thing about it all those involved investigating the school were the ones who were called.

Without being able to say good-bye our characters where forced to pack their belongings boarding the vessel the very next day. When they thought things would go south immediately they were shocked when just the opposite happens. For a while they learned a lot about marine life and other cool facts.

One morning the teens woke up to find that they are alone. The teachers, boat crew gone! While the teens searched the entire boat for any clues they come across a note left on the captain's cabin door. The letter was signed by the dean.

To sum up the letter it pretty much states: the boat is on auto pilot leading them to their finale destination, Cobalt Island, if anyone attempts to disable it or turn the boat around it'll explode. It also tells then the room that was originally locked is open. There they'll find supplies. Not wanting to chance fate did what the letter told them.

A few days later the island came into view. When the boat crashed onto the shoreline the teens gathered up what they could carry onto the beach. Once everyone was off the boat and some distance away the boat explodes giving them no hope in returning home. Now they most find all means to survive the unknown. Even if it meant fighting those around them.

Archer Bay Academy: The school is a few years old, but the building is over 120 years old. Some features are renewed. Like plumbing, fixtures, extensions etc. The original bedrooms where turned into dorms. Girls upstairs boys down stairs two per room, dorms are located at the east wing. The larger rooms are the classrooms. Art and athletics are the top two academics. The school can only hold around two hundred and forty students so getting in requires an invite form the dean.

Cobalt Island: Tropical just like Hawaii, but has no volcanoes. Mostly covered high top trees that can you find in the amazon jungles. A lot of the animals and plants are similar from both regions but many look like creatures from horror stories and myths. The salt water surrounding the island are invested with sharks. The dean and staff had placed cameras around the island to record events.

Islanders: You would think they were would be savage like, like on TV. The islanders are almost modern they just don't have technology. They are very secretive though and don't allow outsiders near. They'll attack anyone who comes near any of the four towns/cities. Eventually, they start to trust the teens who arrived on the island.

Cobalt Island Creatures:
Prowlers- werewolf like creatures but tailless, short hide legs, long sloth like arms with four inch claws, lastly they have a face of a nearly hairless bear. Most prowlers are grey or dark brown to blend into their surroundings. They spend most of their time prowling hence the name, once they find their prey they won't loose sight of it. Prowlers live in the mountain terrain and or anti-social unless it's breeding season. They normally come out at night for the sun is hard of their eyes, yet they are nearly blind at night so they relay on scent and hearing.

Jinxees- twin tailed fox like creature, they are slightly smaller than a cat. Shy little critters they are but friendly; they live underground or in tree holes close to the ground. Jinxees live in packs size varies from just five to over thirty. Jinxees prefer to come out during daylight but some mostly come out at night. They are usually light brown, white, or cream in color with white and/or black markings. They eat mice, birds, etc.

Raptors- predator birds, wings are bat like, they have razor sharp teeth, size of a full grown turkey, sharp claws on tips of wings and talons. They live in a flock of hundreds, up in the mountains. They hunt in parties or ten or more they are clumsy flyers but fast climbers. They hunt anytime of the day or night and they aren't very smart.

Re-su made a joke about him needing to shower better. August smiled to himself. Re-su sure was an easy going person, they might end up becoming friends. Making friends and holding onto them was hard for August. Re-su and Inali chatted with each other a bit longer. Inali then asked a good question reminding August the question he's been meaning to ask.

Re-su replied to Inali now it was time for August's question. Before he could speak so loud British ascent guy burst through the cafe. August recognized him from the cafeteria. He was loud then too. The guy walked the cafe introducing himself to those near him. He slowly made his way towards August, Re-su and Inali.

August tried to keep his eyes averted. He always seems to attract self centered bullies when he locks eye contact. He isn't sure why. It could be because they sense his timidness or they feel intimated by him. August heard a noise next to him just then curious he turned his head to see what it was. His ears always pick noises most can't hear; having such hearing is a gift but most of the time a it's a curse. He happened to look up when he glanced over at Re-su and Inali. When he did he ended gazing into a pair of hazel eyes.

"Hey I'm Zane." The British teen said gazing back into August's eyes. "What's a hobo doing here? He laughed.

August sighed then got up to leave. Zane gave a few other remarks but August toned him out. He knows how this type of people are, they say things to test your patients luckily August is use to dealing with them. Re-su and Inali followed suit not happy with Zane.

((I know it's short, but I'm not quite sure if we should move toward getting our rooms or not ^^; ))

Re-su and Inali looked at August with mixed looks. There was an awkward silence between the three of them for a moment before Re-su spoke. “I guess I need to take better showers.” He half joked as he lifted his arm to sniff his armpit. Inali gave out an awkward giggle and ventured to ask, “So you really are a boy?” Which Re-su replied to with a nod and asked, “Does that bother you?”

Inali pulsed before answering, “No I suppose not. It's just so surprising I don't know what to think.” She blushed a little, “I was actually hoping we'd share a room. I don't think that's going to happen though.” Thinking of the rooms she asked, “When do we get assigned anyways?”

01-21-2014 at 2:56 PM
((That's completely fine with me, as long I can tell whose point of view of it is some people mush them together making it confusing to what active or thoughts belong to who))

“How did you know? I thought I was doing rather well today.” Re-su laughed. Inali eyes widened in shock probably trying to figure out if this were a joke or not. Re-su lead in towards August interested to know how he knew his gender.

August lead away startled a bit. August didn't want to make things more awkward between the three of them. Yet, he lying isn't his strong suit. He looked at Re-su and Inali starring at him with serious expressions. Which made him nervous.

"I... ah... at first thought he were a girl but.. I." August stuttered trying to come up with a good lie. If he continued his stuttering would get worse. This is why lying isn't August's best trait. August sighed.

"Even though my eyes were fooled my nose wasn't." With that said August felt like running away to avoid their disbelief.

01-21-2014 at 1:53 PM
((going to combine what Re-su and Inali are doing into the same paragraphs when they are together, and only break them apart if they are in different locations, I hope that’s okay. Just thought it would be easier than restating what’s already been said to many times.))

Inali allowed herself to be dragged down the hall to the lounge and soon found herself sitting near August, hot coco in hand with a very awkward silence. She didn’t know what to do with herself, on the other hand Re-su seemed to enjoy himself. He watched as Inali squirmed, wanting to get away but not wanting to be rude and smiled. The only thing that could have made things better is if August seemed more into their presence.

The boy was obviously tired and seemed to be slipping in and out of a sleepy haze. After what seemed like a long silence, and Re-su was about to try and break the ice, the most unsuspected question came from August’s lips,
“Re-su, you’re a boy aren’t you?”

Inali’s eye widened as she looked between Re-su and August confused. Surely Re-su was a girl; he must have been very tired if he was making these kinds of mistakes. However, to her surprise, Re-su laughed and asked,
“How did you know? I thought I was doing rather well today.”

Inali squirmed feeling a little uncomfortable; she couldn’t tell if he was joking, and knowing that the girl that had pulled her down the hall was possibly a boy made her feel awkward. Re-su on the other hand felt intrigued, not many people guessed he was a boy at first glance. He leaned closer to August with expecting eyes.
01-20-2014 at 5:31 PM
August slept for a few minutes when he heard a voice. He opened his eyes to see Inali and Re-su. Re-su had a huge grin on his face. Inali seemed confused.

“Might we sit with you?” Re-su asked.

August blinked stroking the back of his head. "I don't mind, since there are plenty of seats here." He replied. He sipped the last of his tea as they sat. August didn't know what they were planning and waited to see if a conversation will start up.

Several minutes later no one said a word. Making the atmosphere a little awkward. If no one was going to say anything soon he might end up falling asleep again. His head was starting to bob here and there but he would force himself from feeling groggy. There was still a few hours until the dorms are assigned. August just thought of something staring at his tea cup. It's school related so maybe Re-su would be able to answer.

But when he went to ask, the one question that kept popping back to his mind slipped out. "Re-su, your a boy aren't you?"

01-20-2014 at 3:25 PM
((I just realized in my last post my word program fixed Inali’s name to Inail O.o Please ignore it XD))

Inali felt awkward after the silence August had given her. He’d finished his paper, without a word to her and scuttled away to be at the back of the tour group. She watched the group for a moment feeling the butterflies bounce around in her stomach. However, glancing over at Re-su, and seeing her reassuring smile with an outstretched hand made her feel a lot better. Taking hold of it, she was led the front of the group and pulled out the door.

Despite being out of her comfort zone she found herself enjoying the tour. Re-su talked about everything as if it were exciting and fun. When they reached the library and Re-su allowed them to get books Inali’s eyes lit up. There were so many shelves some going all the way up the ceiling along the walls. She had never seen so many books in all her life. When she lived with her grandparents the only books she had access to were the ones at the reservation school and the ones found on the shelves at home. While she wasn’t the fastest reader she found that she did enjoy adventure stories, and so found herself in the fiction section.

She was so entranced by the books she almost missed the tour leaving. However, Re-su being a good guide made sure to gather all off his group. The rest of the tour went by quickly for her as she stroked the spine of one of the books she was now dying to read. Before she knew it they were at the dorms with Re-su telling them the school rules. She mentioned that they would be given a roommate, which made Inali a little nervous, though mostly excited.

Once finished, Re-su disbanded the group telling them they had the rest of the day off to wander and meet everyone. She stood there torn, not sure if she should return to the library or do some actual exploring of the building. She watched Auguast wonder away with the rest of the group and figured that wasn’t an option; she felt a shy toward him now. Though she didn’t have long to think about it, before she knew what was going on Re-su had her by the hand and was pulling her down the hall.

“What’s going on?” she asked.

Re-su had given his tour and was feeling worn out. Most of the students acted as if they didn’t really enjoy his tour or were interested in any one room than in anything he had to say. Most people’s attention seemed to have solely been on the lounge, library, gym or pool, and he could tell most of them had been itching to break free of his presence. As he watched them all leave he noticed only one remained behind.

He noticed she was the quite type, and couldn’t help but want to shake up her world a little bit. His thoughts on how to do so only took a few moments. He remembered the boy from earlier, perhaps they were friends? Perhaps maybe even boyfriend and girlfriend. Though if that were so, he thought to himself, he makes a lousy boy leaving his lady behind. Shrugging it off he grabbed her hand and began to lead her down the hall.

At first she resisted, asking what was going on. However he gave her a cheerful smile and speaking as cutely as he could manage, “You look like you could use a friend, and I thought maybe we could have some fun.” At that while she still seemed hesitant, she allowed herself to be dragged along. The whole way down the hall he followed the top of August’s head and finally into the lounge. Turning to the girl he asked, would you like something to drink? She nodded her head and asked for a hot coco, and waited near the door as he went to stand in line to get himself a frappuccino with her coco.

August was further ahead in line and got his stuff and sat down in a grouping of empty chairs ‘conveniently.’ This made Re-su smile and as soon as he got the drinks he lead the girl over to where August sat. The girl practically hid behind him as he asked August in a sweet voice, “Might we sit with you?”

Re-su waited for August and the girl whose name was Inail to join the group before the tour. August hung back from the group as they walked through the halls. Classes were in session to avoid loosing the newcomers in rushing wave of students. Re-su first pointed out the lounge where most students go to do homework or just to hang out. It was down the hall from the cafeteria. It looked a lot like a cafe, coffee and other drinks are made for free by volunteers. August likes coffee so he might visit that place from time to time.

Next was the library. The library had an old world feel Re-su explained that every few months the latest books that go onto the market are added to the school's library. August wondered where they got the funding do to such a thing. But the thought soon passed. Since there was time Re-su said if they liked to check out a book or two it would be perfectly fine. August was much of a reader he stayed put till the ones who wanted books to get them. Once that was over Re-su pointed out some of the different courses as they went pass the class rooms.

The school wasn't that huge, most of the school was in the first building which noted in the handbook happened to be a remolded mansion from the 1980's. August liked old homes so seeing some of the old fixtures was cool. Oddly the older homes make him feel more welcomed than in the newer cookie cutter homes. The newer buildings attached was the gym and swimming pool.

Eventually he lead them to the dorms. He mentioned a few set of rules and a certain few aren't followed punishment would be in order. One that surely must be followed, boys must remain downstairs and girls upstairs during curfew hours unless for emergencies. Most rooms are two to a room August wasn't looking forward to sharing a room... just in case his emotions get out of hand. And that other him would be revealed. August shifted nervously on his feet in thought.

Re-su told them by the end of the day everyone would be paired up with a roommate. For the rest of the day everyone could hand out and explore, talk to each other till then. The group started to disband. Most were headed towards the lounge. August was headed there as well. A blended ice tea sounded good for some odd reason. It didn't take long to find it. He followed those who were headed in the same direction.

He waited his turn in line to order a drink. It was nice that the drinks didn't cost anything though they were the same as Starbucks. August ordered an iced black tea. He then sat on one of the many lounge chairs. He slowly sipped his tea watching those around him. After a few minutes he sat his tea down lead back; he stared at the ceiling for a few seconds until he began to doze off. He wasn't tired but he felt a little more at ease now that things had calmed.

Inail fidgeted as she sat there. While the cafeteria was a decent size there was little to look at other than the menu board which listed the current options for today’s lunch. She tried to feign interest so as to not stare at the other people at the table; however she couldn’t help but notice how the boy’s eyes kept landing on her. It wasn’t so much that she could see his eyes through his hair, it was more like a feeling, similar to the feeling she use to get when hunting dangerous animals with her grandfather.

Before she could work up the courage say anything however, a girl came in introduced herself, and sitting down beginning to pass out papers. Inail watched Re-su while waiting for her papers and thought she looked pretty even if she had a wild style. She didn’t have long to stare though, as her paper soon reached her. Looking over the papers it all seemed rather simple, almost boring and pointless, regardless of her feelings she filled it out she handed it in.

Upon her return she couldn’t help but notice that the boy seated across from her seemed to be having some trouble. She took a deep breath and changed seats to sit beside him.

Leaning into his she whispered, “Hi, my name’s Inail, would you like some help with you forum?”

She gave him a kind if not awkward smile, hoping that he didn’t feel insulted.

Re-su collected papers and asked people to gather by the door for a tour of the school. It wasn’t long before he had most everyone’s paper. Soon it was only a boy and girl near the far end of the table. He looked them over and found them to be an odd couple. The boy looked like he was one step up from a hobo while the girl was dressed nice enough even if it wasn’t fancy.

He waited a few moments before getting up and walking down to them. He knew if they took too much longer they would miss the tour. He didn’t want them to miss out, as he knew how hard it could be to figure out the interesting layout of the school. Furthermore he knew they needed to know that there were some rooms you just couldn’t enter.

August glanced up at every now and again at the girl sitting across from him. He never took any interest when it came to people but she caught his attention. Her black hair made her pale freckled skin stand out. Others up further at the table also took notice. August could hear them snickering and whispering. With his inhuman hearing he was able to catch every word. Most comments were towards him. His clothing wasn't exactly brand named materials most of these guys wore.

His jeans had tears in them and were dusty from the sand. His button up dark green shirt, from one of his suits his grandfather always attempted to make him wear, was the only nice piece of clothing he he bothered to wear. The open jacket he wore he had for a few years. It was fully intact but the green color has faded so it was easy to tell it was old. He wore hiking boots not only were they comfortable he hikes a lot. So, you can tell they are used a lot.

The girl across from him is dressed nicely. Her smell is also good. Which he didn't mean to whiff at, but because she is so close it was hard not to familiarize her scent. Sometimes having wolf sense comes in handing but is also a curse. She seemed like a nice person. She kept to herself for the most part so it would seem he's not the only whose feeling uneasy.

Just then someone came into the cafeteria. It was a teen at first he thought the person was a girl but his nose told him other wise, August figured he or she was also here to register. The person wore a pink button down shirt, August also notice the boots. They had heels. They did look good on him or her. August gave a weak smile seeing the grin on the person's face. Sniffing once more the person was defiantly a guy; he didn't give off a bad vibe so August knew he was a friendly.

Just then the teen walkover then sat down. Before he did he wiped off the chair so his skirt wouldn't get dirtied. “Hello there everyone, I’m Re-su and the staff has asked me to bring everyone a copy of these papers.” He announced.

The papers were passed down slowly. When August got his the papers were just a quick fill out of information about your self. He filled it out the best he could but he had a heard time understanding some of the questions. He was never good with words, or numbers. He's learning level is pretty low though once he gets a handle on it things start to get easier. He was the last to finish the girl across from him had already been done the last few minutes and handed in her sheet. Everyone was gathering by the cafeteria doorway but she sat back down but this time next to him. She probably noticed he was having a hard time.

August didn't look at her he kept his eye level down. He wasn't going to say anything. Yet, since she was so nice he could at least give his name. "August," was all he said. Then he stood up turning in his partly finished paper.

It had been another hard day in the Stephens’ household with the children creating havoc and their parents nowhere to be seen. Inali dashed around trying to keep the house clean as she heard a crash in an upper room knowing that it had to be the formation of another mess. She had come to live with the Stephens after her grandparents had passed away. At first it seemed that she was going to go to an orphanage, however the Stephens had come forward as some of her last remaining relatives and had agreed to take her in.

For the most part they ignored her existence, except when there was something going wrong. It was then blamed on Inali, for everyone knew before her life was perfect. Inali did her best to please her new family, however nothing she did ever seemed to be right for them. So, when the day the ABA invite showed up at the door she took it, anything had to be better than here. It had taken her a few weeks to convince her new family that it was for the best, but after she had they moved quickly.

Within a day they had her packed with her few belongings and out the door giving her just enough money to take a taxi. Reaching the school she stepped out taking in a deep breath of fresh air. She felt a huge pressure lift off her chest and she cheerfully entered the school grounds after a short stop to hand over her invite to the guards. After entering the gate she pulsed for a moment, she couldn’t help but find the place beautiful. It had the right balance of plant life and building and somewhat reminded her of the Aztec buildings she had seen in books about Native American peoples. Pressing onward she attempted to find the front office but couldn’t seem to find anything. She eventually caved in and nervously asked some students she found in the hall. Luckily one was kind enough to inform her that the cafeteria was really where she needed to be, and guide her there.

Entering the doors she looked around, there were more students than she had expected. It made her feel nervous, and she shuffled forward slowly taking a seat across from a boy already sitting at the table. He seemed to have the same idea as her, trying to get as far off from the others as possible. She hoped he didn’t mind, but didn’t speak in either case.

Re-su walked into the cafeteria carrying a stack of papers the click of his high heeled boots making a distinctive clack with each step. He looked over the new students with a bright lipstick smile feeling absolutely fabulous. Placing the papers on the table he adjusted his pink button down shirt and gave a swept the chair he was about to sit on so as not to mess up his black sequined skirt.

“Hello there everyone, I’m Re-su and the staff has asked me to bring everyone a copy of these papers.”

He had the other student’s take one and pass them down so that everyone had one. As he watched them fill out the paper work he couldn’t help but drift off and remember his arrival.

His first day, while just a week ago felt like months. His father had gotten the invitation to ABA for his child on his last business trip to the island. He felt such an honor must surely be taken, if not for the free education then surely to earn a new business partner. Without asking, he had sent Re-su here, and Re-su had complied. To be honest he didn't see much of a difference, he was always dragged from one place to another anyways so what made now any different?

He had arrived wearing a cute, asian styled dress and the staff had originally almost kicked him out. His papers said he was a boy, but obviously he was a girl. It took him some time to explain, and for the first week they had forced him to buy and ware boy clothing. After a short while, however, he struck a deal with the dean; he would work 5 days a week for the school after and between his classes doing whatever school related things the school needed done, in return the dean allowed him to wear anything school appropriate. The dean had given him what he felt was an evil smile when the deal had been made, however he got what he wanted.

Returning to reality he looked around the table, wondering if all of these people were actually going to join the school. He wondered if any of them would possibly be his friends. What adventures might await him in this foreign land? Surely good things were ahead of him.
The weather started off like how it always does. Warm, sunny and often you feel a slight breeze coming from off the ocean. Even though the weather was perfect the day didn't start out exactly the same. August had a rude awaking at three in the morning and never managed to fall back to sleep. Living in a hotel sometimes you'll be surprised to how noisy people are.

Thanks to the early risings August is like a demon whenever woken up. No matter the time or day. Not long after his grandfather started to bother him with the usual. Until he pulled a new one. The talk of marriage filled the rest of the morning. August remained quiet the entire time. Once the old man had finished, he packed a gym bag then looked over the Archer Bay Academy invite.

At first August wasn't going to attend until his grandfather was trying force marriage onto him. August quietly but swiftly down the fire escape. His room was on the fifth floor. Luckily, no one noticed him. He waved down a taxi; reading off the address on the invite. The driver pulled out a map not sure where the school is located since it hasn't been around for so long. Once he was sure he took off.

The drive took two hours. August paid the driver then got out. Right after the taxi drove off immediately. August stared at the long path leading up to the school. Dense trees lined on either side. August walked up the path feeling a bit nervous. He can smell people from with the woods. Eight minutes later he made it to the gate. Two guards were on post. One gestured for August to come over. August hesitated at first but then obeyed.

"Do you have a student ID or a pass?" He asked. August didn't reply he just pulled out the invite and handed to the guard. He opened it then checked his tablet. "Okay you may go in" With that the gate opened. The guard kept the invite now that it wasn't needed.

August entered the campus the gate closed behind soon after. The school before him was covered in vines making it hard to tell what kind of shape it was in. He slowly made his way taking in the surroundings. It's late in the day so school should be in section. From what he read the school had started two weeks ago. Knowing this he attempted to find the main office. But got lost in the process. Eventually he came across the cafeteria. There was a sign on the door. "Those are were late registering please enter the cafeteria, registrations are still open until the beginning of next month!" August signed in relief he didn't want to return to his controlling grandfather.

When he entered there were other teens. Just a hand full sitting at a table with booklets laid across it. August edged over quietly. He could feel them watching him. He sat as far as he could away from the nearest person. He stared at the table waiting to see what'll happen. Before he knew it someone decided to move and sat across from him. He shifted nervously.
