Cobalt Island (One on One RP~ Readers Welcome!)

Introduction:

Your character(s) had or lived in Lahaina, Maui (Hawaii). Some of you received a scholarship invite to Archer Bay Academy (aka ABA). Archer Bay is a fairly new school but it's academics is the highest throughout Hawaii. Archer Bay is always looking for those with unique skills. It almost seems to good to be true. Some of you may come from a well off family while others barely have a dime into their name. Getting an invite to a high end private school brings up red flags. So, at first you might not consider joining until something at home pushes you in going.

When the characters first enter the school they meet in the assembly room/cafeteria to great one another for the first time. It's one of those systems to get new members of the school feel more welcome and possibly meet new friends who are just as clueless as they are. Once the greeting is over the new students get assigned to their dorm room. Some maybe paired up with a fellow newbie or one who has been at the academy for a long while. The dorms are located at the east wing which is the largest part of the school other than the sportsmanship building. Girls upstairs, boys downstairs.

For the first two weeks everything was going normal. Then things started to feel a bit off. The teachers began to act cold and distant, students slowly start to decrease as time goes on. The characters soon realize that there is something up. Eventually, they start looking into things. As they searched for clues to what is going the characters start to form a group. And this does not go unnoticed.

Terrible accidents began to occur. Objectives falling from out of nowhere, cars nearly running you over or being locked in the cafeteria freezer etc. A couple of months of fighting off attackers and near death experiences things go quiet once again. Just when we think they'll be able to have a break the dean plans their demise.

One afternoon the dean announces that he'll be drawing names of students. The winners will be going on a five month marine research boat trip across the Pacific and Atlantic ocean. He then calls out the names over the intercom to report to the office. Even though it seemed like a great opportunity the scary thing about it all those involved investigating the school were the ones who were called.

Without being able to say good-bye, everyone of the characters were forced to pack their belongings. Board the vessel the very next day. When they thought things would go south immediately they were shocked when just the opposite happens. For a while they learned a lot about marine life and other cool facts. This went on for several weeks when the obvious happens.

One morning the teens woke up to find that they are alone. The teachers, boat crew gone! While the teens searched the entire boat for any clues they come across a note left on the captain's cabin door. The letter was signed by the dean.To sum up the letter it pretty much states: the boat is on auto pilot leading them to their finale destination, Cobalt Island, if anyone attempts to disable it or turn the boat around it'll explode. It also tells then the room that was originally locked is open. There they'll find supplies. Not wanting to chance fate did what the letter told them.

A few days later the island came into view. When the boat crashed onto the shoreline the teens gathered up what they could carry onto the beach. Once everyone was off the boat and some distance away the boat explodes giving them no hope in returning home. Now they most find all means to survive the unknown. Even if it meant fighting those around them.

MagicAndDance Character:
Name: Esttin Cavali
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Race: Caucasian
Skin Color/Tone: Fair skinned.
Hair and Style: Long, straight blonde hair, generally in a high-band or flat
Eyes: Dark Green
Weight and Height: 61.24 kilograms/1.67 metres (135lbs/5'10")
Personality: Esttin is a young woman, she is very bright and sweet. She is also very naïve and gullible, and so she can be lead astray easily, by anyone who means her harm. She is very trusting and doesn't see bad things in others, focusing on the bright side whenever she can. Esttin is also very stubborn, and refuses to give up things that are important to her, such as hope and a constant smile.

Background: Esttin came from a poorer family, but they rose in status because of luck and hard work on her parents side, she was 10 when they joined what was called the middle-class and she learned from their struggles. She remembers staying up, late at night, when her parents used to fight, and staying curled up in her bed, listening. She hates when they fought, and always tried to keep them happy, unmeaningly causing more tense in their relationship. Esstin never understood that their divorce was not her fault, and even when they took the chance to raise in status, she could not forget their arguments. For a few months after her parents had paid for a new house and a car, they didn't fight, and life at home was peaceful. Esstin hoped life would stay that way, but her hope was for a hopeless cause. Her parents divorce when she was 14, and her world seem to shatter and crumble around her. Her Mother moved out of the family's house, and Esttin followed her. She spent the next four years of her life travelling between her Mother and Father house, living with both of them. She did continue to succeed at her school and she continued to hope for a very good life.

Ability(s) and Other Skills: Esstin doesn't have many special skills. She knows how to bandage a few injuries and how to cheer others up. Her true skill lies in her ability to see the good in any situation or person. Esttin has the ability to bend energy to her will. Everything living has energy, and she can pull from that to create two whips, two ropes of energy usable for combat. The amount of energy drained from a person or thing is equal to the energy drained from her, so if she uses the same amount of energy she has in her body she will die. This energy only drains from her and others when it's used to do something. If she's using it as a display of power, it won't drain any energy, because all she does is funnel the existing energy into a large rope and allow others to see it. She is also threatened by emotion, if she has vulnerability when she uses her power, it's possible it can consume her, and it will fight and kill anything around her until everything is dead, or she is dead. The energy shows itself in a colour as she uses it, depending on where she draws it from.

Further Information:
Archer Bay Academy: The school is a few years old, but the building is over 120 years old. Some features are renewed. Like plumbing, fixtures, extensions etc. The school is located in Lahaina, Hawaii. The original bedrooms where turned into dorms. Girls upstairs boys down stairs two per room, dorms are located at the east wing. The sporting area is much larger than the school. The academy sits on his own beach and the front gate hidden by the natural grown forest even finding the path can be difficult.

Cobalt Island: Tropical just like Hawaii, but has no volcanoes. Mostly covered by high top trees that you can find in the amazon jungles. A lot of the animals and plants are similar from both regions but many look like creatures from horror stories and myths. The salt water surrounding the island are invested with sharks. The island isn't listed on any map and yet isn't hidden by any mist/fog. The dean and staff had placed cameras around the island to record events (though they a hard time in doing so because of the locals). Why, no one knows for certain other than those who placed the cameras there.

Islanders: You would think they were would be savage like, like on TV. The islanders have a more modern behavior, just no technology. They are very secretive so aren't very open in helping out those who supposedly are stranded. They attack those who pose a threat but usually they just keep a watchful eye. Yet, just like most humans you have those who don't think but react do to past experiences.

Some Villages on Cobalt Island: Yahtuk is a small village that is surrounded by trees. Most of the homes are craved within the trees then built outward. Yaktuk is known as the old time village for the people there prefer to stick to tradition. The villages raise dogs, and messenger birds. They also great at hunting and basket weaving. For being so small and not having very many people Yahtuk tends to be hardly noticed. Though people from the other villages flock it in the spring/summer months for the views and cool water springs surrounding it. Liore is the largest village on Cobalt, it's also deals mostly with politics, education and handles most of the islands population. Liore is also known for it's bakeries, libraries and fashion sense.

Cobalt Island Creatures:
Prowlers- werewolf like creatures but tailless, short hide legs, long sloth like arms with four inch claws, lastly they have a face of a nearly hairless bear. Most prowlers are grey or dark brown to blend into their surroundings. They spend most of their time prowling hence the name, once they find their prey they won't loose sight of it. Prowlers live in the mountain terrain and or anti-social unless it's breeding season. They normally come out at night for the sun is hard of their eyes, yet they are nearly blind at night so they relay on scent and hearing.

Jinxees- twin tailed fox like creature, they are slightly smaller than a cat. Shy little critters they are but friendly; they live underground or in tree holes close to the ground. Jinxees live in packs size varies from just five to over thirty. Jinxees prefer to come out during daylight but some mostly come out at night. They are usually light brown, white, or cream in color with white and/or black markings. They eat mice, birds, etc.

Raptors- predator birds, wings are bat like, they have razor sharp teeth, size of a full grown turkey, sharp claws on tips of wings and talons. They live in a flock of hundreds, up in the mountains. They hunt in parties or ten or more they are clumsy flyers but fast climbers. They hunt anytime of the day or night and they aren't very smart.

(Other than that the animals on the island are the same animals we see everyday. Such as horses, wolf/husky like dogs, parrots, owls, cows, pigs, chickens, and jungle like animals etc. P.S. I will add more info and/or characters later.)

Esttin smiled at Silas as he removed his head, and stood up. He seemed to have a sense of purpose, and his energy was alight, eager to do something. His energy still had that exotic air to it, a shimmering twisting mass of curiosities. She almost wanted to pull at it again, just to feel it's power. It didn't resist her pulling when she had used it, but it didn't bend to her will either. In fact, it did what it wanted to do, as though at any time it might just refuse to do what she wanted, even if she was at her full strength. It also had a voice, unlike other people's energies. She thought of energies in voices, because that was what she understood, but they sang, or hummed, rather than actually talking. She could understand their intentions and desires, as well as the implications behind those, which gave her a sense of voice without the actual sound.

Silas's energy could speak. She hadn't heard it speak, but she knew it could. Esttin had no idea how she knew it could speak, it had not spoken to her or expressed itself in any way that indicated it could speak, but there was something inside of her that said it could. So, she knew it could.

While she was preoccupied with thoughts of his energy, he had moved towards his bag, and begun pushing things aside, looking for something. She had no clue what he was looking for, but she figured it was important. Silas looked weird as a wolf. He acted, and most likely thought, like a human, with human emotions and human reactions, while he had the feral appearance of a large, black wolf. Esttin liked wolves, she thought they were beautiful creatures, but she hadn't ever meant to meet one, much less be friends with one. As she thought about friends, her mind shifted, to questions. Was his whole family like that? Did his parents know? Was he born a human or a wolf? She chose not to ask, knowing they could seem rude, but she was still curious.

He disappeared behind a tree for a bit, and his energy seemed a bit drained, focused on one task, whatever that hidden task may be. When he stepped back out she understood, he was human again. And now that she got a second look, she could definitely tell he was a bit more feral than others, for lack of a better term. His body may have returned to normal, but he was different now, to Esttin. He was like her, separate, unique, alone, and strange. This made her happy, but also sad. She wouldn't wish her difference on anyone, and yet she was still overjoyed to have someone who understood, even if they were different in a totally opposite way.

Almost as if he was embarrassed by something, he blushed. His cheeks darkened and his eyes dropped, so he wasn't looking at her. She almost wanted to giggle, but she didn't, instead she smiled, not in a mocking way, but in a happy way. He was cute when he blushed.

"Yes, I'm just a bit tired." she said, grabbed onto the tree behind her as a support as she stood back up. She was a bit wobbly, and felt lightheaded, but after a few moments of blinking, it wore off. Esttin looked over at their attacker and frowned in concern. She could barely keep herself up, how would she help move him? She didn't want to put it all on Silas, he was likely tired from everything today too, turning back and forth from a human to a wolf couldn't be easy.

"So what are we doing with him?" she asked, staring at the man in question. He handy moved or made any sign of waking up, but she was still wary. In her state, she couldn't fight without risking everything.

Silas couldn't help but give a little snort at the comment on being called a "dog". All was forgiven quickly even though the word stung. Esttin also asked what were going to do with the attacker. Silas felt like bury the guy six feet under though he was still alive. Esttin wouldn't go for it and he knows so for she seems to take things seriously, literately. Most girls are like that that. Serious and scary.

Silas lifted his head off of Esttin wondering what he should do. His body was starting ache again. Most people when they think werewolf they always claim they heal just as fast as the Wolverine from X-men. Silas knows nothing about this Wolverine or X-men, but the way they talked about it, it would seem as though the guy can heal within just a few seconds of being shot. To him that sounds just a little over the top. His wounds will heal in the matter of just a few days. Depending how bad they are.

Silas thought a bit longer before coming to a conclusion. The only thing he could think off instead of burying the guy. Drag him back to the school so they can call the cops on him. While he is still out cold. Silas stood up. When he did he felt quite light headed. His body swayed a little as he tried getting his footing. Soon he was able to walk he trotted over to his pile of torn up clothes. Among them was his bag. Digging for it Silas glanced back at Esttin then at the attacker. Letting her know to be ready if and when he wakes up.

Once he found his bag Silas grabbed on of the stripes with his teeth before ducking behind a thicket of trees. It took little some effort to return back into his human form. Strangely it was pain, mostly his left arm and head. Once back to normal Silas slowly got dressed. Pulling a black sleeveless shirt, flip flaps since his boots were ruined and a pair of khakee shorts he normally worn at the beach. When he was finished he walked out from behind the trees examining his head and left arm. The blood had stopped thankfully and his arm might be broken. Remembering the fall he blushed from embarrassment for it was completely all his doing.

He walked over to Esttin averting his eyes, hoping she won't noticed him being all flustered. "Are you able to walk at all?" He asked seeing her still sitting on the ground.

Esttin could feel the energies pressing around her, each curious at this new being. The attacker-man’s energy was scared, and urging Esttin to use it so it would be free. It called her name over and over, alternating between a whisper and a yell, doing its best to attract her attention. It was a bright yellow, fighting with the greens of the forest and the bright blue of Silas’s energy. The colours filled her vision, blocking out the outside world with their curiosity and eagerness. This was what happened when she was tired.

The colours danced, as though participating in a circus. Their forms were abstract, twisting, turning, ballooning into bright spheres, and twisting into tight spirals. She was entranced by them, watching the way they pulsed and moved as their owners reacted to different things. The greens of the forest danced with the oranges and dark blues of the birds and other animals in the forest, while Silas’s energy seemed to dance by itself, in a strange and beautiful dance.

Suddenly, a loud thump resonated through her mind, and Esttin snapped out of her daydream, focusing on the world and blocking out the energies. The man had fainted, and Silas, the wolf, looked tense, angry. Then his large head turned, followed by his body, as though someone pulled him by his nose with an invisible string.

As he turned she noticed the rippling of fur, and his muscles shifting, revealing his strength and caused Esttin’s stomach to lurch. She remembered her thought from earlier, that she could easily beat him in a fight. Now, she wasn’t so sure. He had large teeth and claws, and his eyes, once so amazing, looked animal-like. But his energy remained the same, and she had identified why it was so strange. It had the intentions of a human’s energy, to be free and roam as it pleased, but the strength and foreign aspects of the animals she could never understand. She hoped that it wasn’t only his energy that had stayed the same, she certainly couldn’t fight him and risk losing her life.

He started towards her and she watched as he changed, from a large menacing wolf, into a large, menacing puppy. He wagged his tail and looked happy, as happy as a huge wolf could look. He looked almost stupid, though Esttin would never say that, for fear he would eat her head or something, he definitely had a big mouth. She thought, briefly, about how much of a person he could eat in one bite, but tossed the thought aside as something she didn’t actually want to know.

Eventually, he laid down beside her and put his head in her lap, essentially preventing her from getting up. She wasn’t bothered by being unable to get up, she wouldn’t have been able to get far if she was able to, she was tired. Actually, she was a bit hungry too, but pushed that thought aside in favour of a more pressing thought. Was he soft?

She gently scratched his head and smiled, if a bit awkwardly at first, hoping he wouldn’t react badly and bite her hand. She was reminded of a day where she had gone to a reservation of animals. She had seen pictures of wolves and other canines, none of them stood over her, one or two might match her height on their hind legs, but she hadn’t seen any on their hind legs.

“Silas, you are biggest dog I’ve ever seen.” She said, before glancing up at the man who had fainted, “What do we do with him?” she murmured, almost to herself. She didn’t know that he had fainted, maybe he had a heart attack or died somehow, and while Esttin was hopeful about a lot of things, there wasn’t much of a bright side to going to jail for murder.

Silas heard someone sitting heavily onto the ground from behind. He knew it was Esttin, he didn't look to see what was wrong for his concentration was more on figuring how to get rid of this attacker. For this guy was starting to get onto her nerves. Silas bared his teeth even more to show he was no push over. He took a step forward to lure the attacker into getting imitated by his move. If he wasn't already shaking in fear.

Silas doesn't like fighting in this form. Sometimes he goes overboard with meaning too. He doesn't know his own strength. Dogs are typically stronger than humans, especially wolves. And since he's larger than you average Great Dane he's all the more dangerous. Silas tries to keep his emotions in check. When their go out of control so will he. Right now he is perfectly fine. Other than being annoyed. If the attacker provokes him the wrong way he just might take the guy's head off with one chomp. Though he never had to come to resorting too.

Silas took another step closer, then another until he was almost nose to nose with the guy. The person stared in utter fear. Paralyzed by his fear. Silas opened his mouth acting as if he were going to rip to shreds. The attacker screamed in terror before passing out. Silas snorted satisfied with the results. He then turned around to face Esttin. Before approaching her he kicked up dirt with his back feet. Covering the unconscious person with dust in detest.

After that was done he walked up to Esttin, his body all relaxed now that this was pretty much over. He panted happily wagging his lowered tailed slightly. Though this was embarrassing Silas figured she might not be frightened by him if he acted like this. He layed down soon he got close enough. Resting his muzzle onto her lap. Giving her the puppy eyed look telling her "It's okay, I am friendly see!"

First, Esttin heard the bang, and felt the force reverberate through her body. The way a person shakes when a loud drum is hit at just the right note. It was all she could hear the low rumbling of her energies. They weren’t hers though, they were the tree’s. She could feel the whips return to normal, humming happily, content in whatever state they were in.

Then, she saw the leaves. It was as though someone had turned on a switch and all the leaves fell. They hadn’t been given a chance to have their colours change, so they were a deep green. She was reminded of a New Year celebration with her family, when her father tossed the little paper strips all about, and she spun around in a circle, enjoying feeling like she was in a snowfall, without feeling cold. The leaves did the same, the sunlight glittering off them in bright sparkles, and the multitudes of green filling her vision.

She felt the energy loss suddenly, as though her body had just found out about it and was now reacting. Esttin released the energy, letting it flow back into the trees, and stumbled backward, walking into one of those trees. She couldn’t see correctly, it was as though a wavy glass panel had been put in front of her eyes, changing the way the world was, and distorting it, into a strange combination.

She reached behind her and blinked continuously, shaking her head. She needed to focus. As she looked around, she noted a large blob, a black blob, in-between her and where she sent her whips. She couldn’t remember exactly what this blob was, but it was something that she should know. Esttin blinked once more, and rubbed her eyes, opening them to see Silas, the black blob, looking scary. At least, scary from behind.

Esttin slowly sat down, hoping Silas had the fight under control. Her head hurt, her mouth was dry, and her limbs felt empty, heavy. She didn’t want to stand up, much less deal with a crazy man in the woods. In fact, if he wanted to kill her, as long as she could sleep, she wouldn’t mind. She sighed and set her head back against the rough bark of the tree, dimly trying to stay awake and keep tabs on what was going on.

05-21-2014 at 12:27 AM
Silas' whole body shivered after the transformation took place. He tried to shake off the tingly numbness that prevented him to move properly. He was glad to have gotten use to this. His body use to be in agonizing pain. Whenever he would take on another form. Thanks to all the years of being able to this he hardly notices the aches.

Silas stared at the attacker while waiting for the numbing to go away. The attacker hasn't realized yet that Silas had took on another form. He was still dazed from being flung a few feet into the air. The hand that he smacked on the ground looked twisted. He really did a number on that one. Now to see if he would dumb enough to ruin his other hand.

As the attacker stumbled to his feet Silas glanced back at Esttin. She wasn't looking his way. Probably avoiding doing so she wouldn't scream in terror. He didn't blame her. Just when he thought things wouldn't get worse. Esttin decides to go on the attack. The attacker was on his feet now. Staring blankly at the two of them. Esttin had her whips out again this time they were a deep green color. Just like the surrounding leaves. Silas wondered if somehow she was drawing her powers from them. And where she drew her powers from the first time he seen her use those whips.

Esttin continued to charge at the attacker. Her whips were now in an X form aiming for his chest. Snapping out of it realizing he's being attacked the guy jumped to the side. Dodging her completely. Silas decided to join by stepping between Esttin and the attacker. Not wanting this to get more out of hand. Silas lips curled until you could see his teeth. He let out a deep growl while raising the fur along his spine. His tail stuck right up. The more fierce he looked the better chance of him not needing to harm the fellow in the end. He just hoped the guy would either faint or high tail it out of here.

Esttin felt a sigh of relief as Silas told her that he wouldn’t tell anyone. She was safe, and she didn’t know the man from before, so even if he told anyone, he couldn’t identify her by name. Silas continued on to say something, or at least start, before he was thrown to the ground by the man. Apparently, he hadn’t been as knocked out as she thought.

Esttin reached frantically for any other energy than theirs, pulling from a person was dangerous, and to do it multiple times in one day was pushing her abilities. Not only that, but her mental state wasn’t in its peak right now. She pulled at the energy of the trees, but it took time, and with the excited energy of their attacker and Silas, she could barely concentrate.

Her thoughts became clear for one moment when she heard a crack and a yell, not Silas’s voice. She turned to see the Silas perform some strange martial art move or something. Maybe he was a fighter? Esttin, distracted by this strange performance almost forgot that they were fighting, and she wasn’t in a dream. She was dazed, her use of the energy earlier had left her mind weakened, and unable to concentrate.

Then the worst thing in the world happened. Silas started to change, hair sprouted across his body, his clothes tore, large, black ears unfurled on his head like daisies popping up for the spring sun. His bones shifted, snapping, cracking, and changing into grotesque forms. His knees cracked, and shifted position, so they bent backwards, similar to a dogs. His eyes stayed the same colour, but his nose changed, into a dog’s nose, stretching the skin on his face as it moved out, pulling out the way a person would pull a cork out of a bottle or jar. His mouth lengthened, and inside his mouth, his teeth sharpened, grew, into larger, pointed, canines.

It wasn’t just his physical appearance that shifted in those few seconds, his energy spiked, changing from a low, constant hum, to a lower, deeper, more threatening vibration, similar to a very loud growl. It shook Esttin, and filled her head with its noise. Her teeth chattered, and her bones shook from the strength of the noise, until it suddenly cut off, and returned to its low hum.

Though only seconds had passed since Silas was human, Esttin felt as if she had lived through years, the shifting of his form and his energy had taken a toll on her, she felt a headache coming on, and she was unable to tell if this was reality. Maybe, just maybe, it was a dream and she was safe in bed, waiting for the day to start.

For some reason, Esttin doubted that.

She felt the energy from the trees fill her body, willing her to use it. She knew she had to, whether this was a dream or not, she couldn’t just leave Silas to handle this man alone. He definitely knew what he was doing. So, she felt the handles’ weight, and then the familiar deep green glow of the whips as they appeared.

The whips of the trees didn’t twist and swirl like Silas’s did, they moved slowly, and emitted a low vibration that shook the air around them. They didn’t seem to glow, but to emit their own light, which made them bright, and dark at the same time. They may have seemed scary to the average person, but Esttin found them comforting, she could use these whips without worrying about losing to the energy, it was too slow to take advantage of her, though that meant it was too slow to do much damage.

She bit her lower lip, avoiding looking at Silas for fear of screaming, and brought her hands down in an x shape, towards the attacker’s chest.
Just as expected Esttin screamed. But something happened that nearly caused Silas to stumble back down the slope. The blue lightning rods appears again. He could feel the energy draining from him again. He started connecting the dots. Every time that blue light appears his effects him.. or are they coming from him. He hopes this doesn't mean he has another strange power. Just then the light came hurdling towards him. Luckily it missed. Silas blocked his face as dirt and leaves swirled around him. Through the gap left by his arms Silas could barely make out a figure. A female figure.

The blue light is Esttin's doing? Silas couldn't help thinking the word "cool!" Esttin lifted her arms up ready to take another swing. Her anger expression turned to one that said more oh no. She stopped herself from moving any further. The blue light slowly vanished, Silas stood a bit shocked by what he had seen.

Esttin slumped down onto her bottom looking as if she just a horror film. The color of her face drained. Her eyes wide with panic. Her hair was a mess. Silas felt bad. Maybe he sacred her too much. Just then Esttin started talking. He almost had a hard time following for she was talking quick fast. From what he heard she was concerned about him telling others about her power. She was also worried about him being hurt and asking why did he growl and so.

Silas knelt down in front of her reached up and patted her head with a non-bloodied hand. "Don't worry I am not the type of person to blab about other's secrets." He told her helping her up. "Your not the only one..."

Silas didn't to finish for all a sudden someone tackled him. It the person from before. Silas skidded across the ground with the person holding onto him. Silas managed to hold his head so it wouldn't gain anymore damage but in the process his arm had gotten scrapped. He happened to catch a glimpse of the person face. The attacker's eyes were crazed with furry.

Silas and the attacker struggled taking over one another. Silas head started to feel awfully light. Because of this he lost the fight. The person sat on top on Silas ready to throw the first punch. Soon the fist came down Silas dodge the hit causing the attacker to punch the dirt. Silas heard a crack. Then the attacker yelled in pain. He had broken a finger. Taking the chance Silas swung his legs around wrapping them around the guy's neck using the last of his strength Silas flipped the guy over. Silas didn't know what move he just used but it was effective.

Now free from the person's weight Silas got up on his feet. His footing wasn't steady. His head wound was still bleeding so maybe it was the cause of blood lose. Silas' heart was pounding. Not from fear but from the thrill of the fight. Silas body started to ache again this time he recognized this sensation. His body was trying to morph. Silas clutched his hands into tight fists tensing his body. Trying to gain control over his body. He can feel his teeth sharping, the hair on his neck rising. It's no use. He was physically to weak to handle it this time. Well, at least he doesn't have to finish explain himself to Esttin. He might have too once he's back to normal.

Silas relaxed himself freely letting the transformation take place. His body began to heat up, as his body took on another form. Bones and joints cracked. His cloths tore or slipped off as his took shape. It was a rather fast process. It takes only a few quick seconds for him to take on a completely different appearance. When it was done Silas shook off the rest of the tattered clothing. When he was finished he glanced over at Esttin wondering what she has to say now.

Esttin released Silas’s energy after a time, confident she was safe, for the time being. She continued to look around and call his name, without any answer. Maybe he wasn’t okay. She shifted, looking around worriedly, and calling his name again, unable to remember which way he fell. Where was he? She called his name once again, running her fingers through her hair even though it was in a hair tie, it pulled small strands out, and loosened the tie, causing large chunks of hair to fly about.

All of a sudden she heard a growl, felt an energy presence near her, and her ankle was grabbed. The forest seemed to spin as she realised she was still in danger, and whatever it was had strength, and was growling, like an evil wild animal. Something was going to kill her. Oh god. She screamed, grabbed at Silas’s energy and spined, pulling her leg out of her attacker’s hand and swinging the whips at him. She was blind to what exactly was attacking her, but because of her movement, they missed, hitting the soft ground around him. As they hit the ground, a bunch of dead leaves and wet dirt flew into the air, causing a deep earthy scent to surround her and the attacker, and obscuring his face,

She was about to launch another attack, ignoring the draining energy from hitting the ground. She raised her hands, his time able to aim for the right spot, and paused, seeing his face. It was Silas, her friend, and the one she was pulling energy from. She couldn’t attack Silas! She stopped her hands, avoiding draining anymore energy, and released it, taking a few steps back. He was bleeding, and she had almost made it worse.

She was shocked. Why had he growled at her? Why did he sound like a beast? Did he see her ability? Was he okay? Was he going to kill her? Did he see her fight the man? Oh dear this was not good. He would not want to be friends with her anymore, or worse, he would tell everyone what he had seen. She just wanted to be normal! Esttin stumbled back, falling backwards onto her butt, with a look of horror and shock. She was shaking, and her eyes were starting to fill with water.

“Silas, I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to…” she started, speaking quickly, rambling, even, “I mean, I shouldn’t have… I’m not crazy, I promise, and I just don’t want to… I mean no one has ever seen that from me. You can’t tell anyone and if you do that would be bad for both of us, mostly you because everyone would think you’re crazy and I really don’t want to not be friends, I mean you can just forget about this…” she continued to talk for a few minutes, following whatever track her mind might take.

“Listen I don’t mean to scare you but the man that came out of nowhere and you tripped and I didn’t want to get hurt so I stopped him and I think he’s hurt and are you okay? Did I hurt you? I didn’t mean to hurt you I just was scared and you came out of nowhere and what was with that growl and oh my god you’re bleeding!” her rambling voice increased in speed and octave as she spoke, getting faster and higher. She was terrified and scared and didn’t want to hurt him but she was also a bit annoyed because he scared her! Who does that?

Esttin’s eyes were wide, and by the time she finished her speech, she was crying, shaking, and mortified. Her hands were in fists, and her hair was coming out of its hair tie, flying everywhere in a frizzy mess. Her makeup was running, and even worse than it had been at home. Her mouth seemed to be stuck opening and closing like a fish, unable to form any other words, as though she had used all her words. She didn’t know what to say, in fact, she was scared, scared that Silas would be scared of her and scared that she would be lost in a forest with a creepy angry man who she hurt.

Silas doesn't recall ever loosing consciousness. He's body didn't want to move. The hit in the head might have caused some temporary paralysis. Silas attempted to move his fingers, they twitched which was a good sign the paralysis was wearing off. He blinked his eyes, moved his joints hoping to be able to get on his feet to help Esttin. The attacker might already be here. If he was the type of person Silas thought he was. Someone with high skills.

His body ached all over from being numb. Silas managed to get on his hands and knees looking up the slope hoping to see Esttin's face. She wasn't there. Silas' heart took a heavy drop. Either she was looking to find a way down or the attacker got her. Just when things couldn't look more bleak Silas saww what looked like blue lightning scattering right above where he looking. Lightning? There's no way lightning could be this close to the ground. It's almost like a surge of energy just appeared out of no where. Somehow he felt connected to it, drawn to it.

Without realizing it Silas was on his feet. Still peering at the strange light. Soon the blue energy vanished, oddly so did his strength returned. Then he heard his name being called. Took him a moment to recognized whose voice it was calling him. It was Esttin. He gave a weak smile happy that she was alright.

Silas wiped away the dripping blood from his jaw. Head wounds bleed a lot so there's no telling how bad the wound is unless checked. Silas started to move. It would take too long to go completely around to find more leveled out ground. So, he climbed. He used tree roots and rocks as a ladder. Good thing, though half awake, that he has done this before. Finally after some effort he made. He pulled himself up over the edge by falling flat on his stomach. Silas was out of breath from feeling dizzy. Esttin was standing just inches away back turned. The way her body posture was she was concerned. Silas grinned mischievously. Reaching out Silas grabbed hold on Esttin's leg soon he did so he let out a growl. Not one of those growls you hear people normally do to imitate bears, lions, tigers etc. No his growl sounds legit. For he is a wolf through and through. Despite his human appearance.

As they departed, Esttin overheard a conversation between the other two new students, the larger one, Zane, was attempting at flirting. He wasn’t very good, and the girl, Sophia, was ignoring him. Or at least pretending to. Esttin almost wanted to stay and listen to the conversation, but she figured she should follow Silas and not abandon him. That would be rude. As Silas said they should go she trotted after him, smiling.

She was happy to get a friend, and followed Silas though the hallways back out to a door. Then he led her to a gate and into the woods, where she lost her cheerful demeanour and grumbled. There were bugs everywhere. She hated bugs. As she trotted along behind Silas she started to feel tired, and bored. Why were they just going in a straight line? Or were they not? Esttin felt lost.

Esttin could feel the energies of creatures and trees pressing around her. They weren’t like human energies, they didn’t want to be used or freed, they liked where they were, but were content with everything. She could sense the ancient power of the trees, slow moving and powerful, a constant energy supply that could never be used up.

All of a sudden a man jumped out, she prepared herself to fight, reaching for her ability and for the surrounding energy, but before she had a chance to do anything she felt something wrap around her wrist and pull her. Silas was running and taking her with him. She couldn’t focus enough on the energy around her to do anything, so she just followed, feeling sick to her stomach. This was no good.

Then, as quickly as he grabbed her, he let go, and fell. He hit his head on something with a sickening thud, and Esttin let out a small scream, before reaching for his energy to be sure he was still alive, and hopefully okay. Then she turned to face the man that they had been running from. She could feel Silas’s energy twisting and turning, though he was hurt, his energy was excited, almost bursting from its prison. It wasn’t evil, but it was mysterious, and hesitantly, Esttin tapped into it.

She felt the exotic energy rush over her, the thrill of the energy at being released, and the feeling of the weight in her hands. She didn’t hesitate to show him, the man, what he was dealing with. The two vine-like whips appeared, as though out of thin air. They were a bright blue, an icy blue, humming low and loud, glowing, even in the sun. They seemed to radiate power, and twist like snakes, with their own life. Energy didn’t follow the law of gravity, it was alive, of its own being and consciousness. It snaked and swirled through the air, hissing and rolling under its own discretion.

She frowned at the man and took a step forward, hoping to look as intimidating as possible. She wasn’t very good at looking scary, and all she could do was look angry and hopefully scare him with her ability. She raised her hands, tightening her grip around the handles of her whips, and swinging her left hand in a downward arc, her whip following the motion. She had no intent to hurt the man, just scare him, and her whips followed that pattern, not hitting him, but moving within centimeters of his skin.

He didn’t react in the way she wanted, he moved forward, pulling out a knife and looking deadly. He certainly wasn’t messing around, and Esttin had to react the same way. She stepped back and swung down the right hand, this time not so shy about where it might hit. She aimed for his chest, bringing the whip down across it, in a loud snap. She felt the energy move in reaction to the hit, pulling from Silas and her, draining both of their energy.

The man stumbled back, looking surprised. Esttin had enough control over the energy to dictate whether it would bruise or cut, she decided he should be bruised first, as a warning, before she had to actually hurt him. Then, in response to the dangers she posed, he turned, stumbling forward in an attempt to run away from her. He did the same thing Silas did, slipping and tumbling down, hitting his head on some unseen object.

What is with these people and knocking themselves out?

Esttin, after he knocked himself out, stood with a confused look and her whips moving around in their circles. She didn’t bother letting them go, not knowing if the man would wake up soon, but she turned to look towards Silas, calling his name and wondering if he was okay.

“Silas?”

Silas waited for Esttin's reply. She was staring at him like a deer staring at a pair of headlights. He almost was about to wave a hand in front of her face wondering if it'll help snap her out of it. But then all a sudden a grin appeared as if nothing happened. She agreed to go. Silas beamed in delight. Things seem to be going well. He just might ending up making friends with Esttin after all. It's been too long since he actually felt this excited about someone.

Silas took a peek over at the table where the other two were still sitting. Zane was chatting away, showing signs of being interested in the girl. Sophia was her name. As he talked she sat there turned sideways acting as if she didn't care. Mr. Drake stood watching the two interested where this would lead. Silas could care less. He doesn't typically get involved in other people's affairs unless it's necessary. Silas adjusted his shoulder strap for it started to slip a little. He looked at Esttin one more time making sure she was ready to head out. Seeing the expression on her face told him "let's get going."

Silas took the lead. He lead Esttin trough the lobby, trough the front doors and to the gate. It was a simple task. Compared to the woods. Silas paused for a moment looking back. Esttin was right at his heels. Silas continued on. Disappearing into the brush. As he lead on he tried his best to stick to an easier path. For Esttin's sake for he doesn't know how well she can hike.

He avoided steep hills, boulders and bushy areas. He wasn't sure where they were heading but he was enjoying himself all the same. Occasionally Silas would stop and look back hoping Esttin didn't get left behind. Now that it's mid day, the heat could easily start effecting people. He could feel sweat forming on the back of his neck. If he's sweating most likely Esttin is as well. Thanks to his wolf mutations Silas can go on for hours before needing to stop. But in this situation he's taking it easy.

The humidity was getting worse. Or it was him. He was feeling really hot. Maybe he was loosing control of his wolf blood. Being in the woods calling him. It was taking the last o his will power to stay in control. His body was telling him to run. He loved to run, it made him feel free, and don't have to worry about anything. If he ran that would mean leaving Esttin alone. Alone in the woods without knowing what or who may be lurking.

Silas kept walking trying to avoid showing his face to Esttin. He bit his lower lip drawing a tiny bit of blood grimacing trying to stay in control. He doesn't quite get where this is coming from. Maybe there was another reason behind it. To why he's feeling this way. As they walked for another ten minutes Silas hardly could take it any longer.

Just then someone came bursting out from behind a tree. He was dressed in camouflage. What the heck?! Silas was stun for a moment. Is he yet another hit-man hired by his grandfather's family? Silas didn't think too long on it. This guy was here meaning business. He was on the offense ready to attack. Silas wanted to fight but he remembered Esttin's words. She hated violence. If he fought would she hate him too, just like everyone else. Or wouldn't she care since this guy is the one attacking them.

Quickly, Silas grabbed Esttin's wrist. He started to run pulling Esttin behind him. Of course the attacker followed them. Silas didn't look back. Even when his cheek got scratched by a tree branch it didn't slow him down. Because of this he wasn't paying attention to where his feet landed. Just then Silas felt his feet slip from under him. He released Esttin surprised to what was happening. Next thing he knew the world was spinning all around him. He kept rolling until his head smacked into a tree down below making a loud thunk.

Silas dazed stumbled onto his feet. He held his aching head. Something hot and sticking gushed through his fingers. He pulled his hand away, still gathering his sensed, stared blankly at it. Blood. His head was bleeding. He stared at his hand for a good few seconds before his eyes hazed over. The last thing he remembered was Esttin shouting his name and him collapsing to the ground once again. But this time he did not get up.
Esttin was surprised when Silas’s energy took a complete turn. It distracted her, and she focused in on it. One second, it seemed amused, gleeful, and content in convincing her to use it, though it didn’t seem as insistent as other people’s energies. Then, all of a sudden, it changed, it become quiet, shy, almost flighty, as though it didn’t like the idea of being near someone that could use it. Its speech changed, from humming to a loud rumbling noise, similar to a growl, but not a threatening noise. This caused Esttin to shake her head, wondering if she was hearing it wrong.

While she listened to his energy, she was watching Silas, though she was not registering what she was seeing, in fact, she looked almost zombie like, intent on something else. She had shook her head, causing her hair to fall in front of her again, though it didn’t seem as if she had noticed. Her eyes were glazed, a bit distant, with the same type of neutral expression a person gets when they are day dreaming, and not paying attention.

As though she had been slapped, Esttin refocused on Silas and the real world, giving him her winning smile as he seemed to get excited. At least, his energy did. It changed again, quickly, from not wanting to be moving, to excited, eager to have Esttin use it. It didn’t exactly want to be bent to her command, but it wanted a chance to escape, as all energy does. Esttin, a bit concerned with its dramatic changes, refocused on the real world, wondering if Silas was influencing his energy in some way.

Sometimes, a strong emotion or feeling can change the way an energy interacts, if a person hates Esttin, generally their energy wants to hurt her, and portrays itself as powerful or strong, willing to use her body for its will. Just as a person who likes Esttin would have an energy that, while it wants to escape, doesn’t want to hurt her. Though the line between escaping and hurting Esttin was always a bit blurred.

Silas seemed happy, excited, before he spoke. So Esttin assumed he would say yes, and possibly have an idea. As he said his idea, his eagerness betrayed him, and Esttin smiled back, righting herself to focus on the world and not entirely on energies. Sometimes, she would get to caught up in their world that she would do something rude or stupid in the one with people.

“Sounds good, not a lot of people go into the woods.” she replied, with a short laugh. In the woods, there was a lot of slower moving energies. The trees and plants made perfect springs of energy, they had a lot, but you couldn’t use a lot because it was so slow, barely moving. She didn’t have to fear anything when she used their energy, because it didn’t want to escape, it wasn’t trapped.

The only thing she had to worry about were the bugs.

At first Esttin smiled liking the idea. She was about to say "yes" at least it sounded like a "yes" but she stopped herself. She was silent for a moment before speaking again. Silas eyes widened surprised to how bold Esttin words were. He blinked and shook his head in order for it to function again. He hoped she wasn't indicating in doing something terrible. Like smoking or... something. He couldn't bring himself to speak.

Esttin doesn't seem like that kind of girl though. Maybe she was talking about something entirely different. Who knows, boys' minds are usually are far more... geared toward dirtied thoughts than the girls'. As he kept silent Silas tried to focus on something else. Thinking to where they could go. Since the library is out of the question. He didn't know is she wanted to stay within the school building or head outside. Fresh air didn't sound wonderful. Silas was starting to feel sweaty and nervous over this. And he felt like he was suffocating being cooped up.

Remembering the woods near the entrance of the school would be fun to explore. Climbing trees, finding animals to chase, jumping into a creek and more. Just picturing doing those things made him excited. A huge grin spouted across his face. Not a creepy grin more of a happy calm type of grin.

"The woods would be fun." Silas told Esttin eagerly. He was getting jittery with excitement. It's either the wolf or the child inside wanting to escape. Either way it was obvious to what he wants to do.

Esttin smiled at Silas when he said his eyes were natural. That was pretty cool. Exotic. She decided that would be a perfect word to describe him, he was strange, a bit rude, and had very interesting eyes. He was perfectly described as exotic. His energy was something she wished she could try to use, but she had promised herself she wouldn’t use a person’s energy unless she had to, and while she longed to, and it’s mystery was it’s way of appealing she wouldn’t, at least, not yet.

When the teacher started talking again he announced that the tour was cancelled. Well that was great, how they would find anything she didn’t know, but he seemed to think it was an okay idea. Generally, lost, bored teenagers wandering around aimlessly was a horrible idea. But she was more than eager to get out of here, she itched to test the trees, or find the most secluded spot with the least amount of bugs to practice her power in. If she didn’t practice she would lose ability, though getting worse wasn’t her worry.

If she didn’t keep up a routine of practicing her energy moving, it would grow stronger, not a stronger, more powerful ability, but stronger in its attacks against her. She had to constantly battle it when she used it, so it wouldn’t control her and hurt others, and so it wouldn’t kill her. She twisted her right hand into a fist and grabbed her bag, standing up and looking around, deciding where to go first.

As she was looking around, Silas returned, and asked her to join him. She was caught off-guard by his gesture of friendship, and she gave him a bright smile in response, almost saying yes before catching herself. She had to find a place to practice, and she certainly couldn’t do that in a library. But, maybe he would be willing to help her find somewhere instead of checking out the library. Esttin loved books, and definitely wanted to check out the library, but no matter her passion for reading, she couldn’t ignore how dangerous her ability was. She could kill someone without meaning to, she could die herself, that wasn’t something to mess around with.

“I want to, but I have to find somewhere first. If you want to come, I’m sure it’ll be fun, or at least interesting.” She said, happily, as she laughed softly and straightened out her bag, flicking her hair over her shoulder without thinking about it. “If you want, of course. We can find the library afterwards, I love books, but I can’t go there first, I have to find a…” she caught herself before blurting out a long description of why she had to find a not-so-travelled place, “secluded place.” She finished, with an awkward smile and tilt of her head.

Esttin wasn't so different than him. Silas wished he could enjoy videos games but that isn't for him. He prefers to watch since he doesn't do much with technology. Silas shook his head at Esttin's comment on his eyes. He was surprised by her saying she was jealous for having such eyes.

Since she asked he can at least tell her the truth. "My eyes are naturally like this. It's a mutation caused by another mutation." Oddly he sounded sad when he spoke. He shifted his eyes to the side realizing it. At least he was being honest. Normally he puts on an act to cover up how normally felt.

Luckily for him Mr. Drake backed away his laptop and stood up. He checked his watch, sitting down again not happy with the result. Even though Silas doesn't use computers of any sort he does you can see the time posted in the corner somewhere. So why check his watch. Unless he trying to buy time.

"Alright I have decided," Mr. Drake spoke while he clapped his hands together rubbing them as if he were scheming. Silas gave the a weird look. He does seem like the mad scientist type. "I am going to let you four to explore the school grounds for a bit. The tour has been canceled."

Canceled? If the tour was canceled how will they find their way around without loosing their brains. Silas can find his way soon he catches a scent either of himself or someone he knows. Oh well, a least he gets to walk around now.

Silas stood up feeling stiff in the legs. He then shoulder his bag walking towards the door. He froze before stepping through. He thought for a few seconds before returning to the table. He looked at Esttin who also seemed eagerly ready to leave. "Want to tag along with me? I was thinking of heading to the library to see what they have."

Esttin gave Silas a surprised look when he said he wasn’t all human, then it faded into confusion and annoyance. He was messing with her. That was just plain rude. She didn’t notice him laugh or look amused when he said it, but she was still offended. She always mentioned something about it, and normally people gave her a weird look and laughed, as though she was joking. He didn’t do that. He was definitely weird.

Esttin was thinking about leaving, maybe making friends with the other two students. But she knew they wouldn’t be any kinder, and with Silas’s silence, she was beginning to wonder if he was going to go make friends with them. She liked friends, and if Silas made friends with them he would tell them not to be friends with her. Then she would be alone, and Esttin certainly didn’t want to be alone.

When he talked she smiled again, and felt relief. Maybe he would be her first friend. Hopefully her first of many, she was best in a large group of people, at least socially. She didn’t do so well surrounded by the abundance of energy people brought with them, in fact, she couldn’t be around a lot of people for a very long time, an issue she had because she really enjoyed the company they brought. She watched Silas talk, noting him rubbing the back of his head. Maybe he had a headache?

“I guess I like to play video games, mostly being alone or around smaller groups, it’s a lot easier to…” she paused in thought, running through a few words to describe how energy felt, “be okay.” She finished, lamely, before replying with a question of her own, “Are your eyes naturally like that or is it contacts?” she hoped he wouldn’t get offended by her question, and quickly continued, “I don’t mean to be rude or anything, they look very cool, I’m actually jealous I wish I had cool eyes like that, haha.” She said, giving Silas and awkward laugh and smile.

She felt like she was just making it worse, and tried to be quiet, so he wouldn’t think she was absolutely nuts. She couldn’t show Silas her power, which would explain her weirdness, because he would definitely run away screaming. Or he would call the police and she would be arrested. She had never shown anyone her power, she understood that she shouldn’t, so she settled with being a weird, strange girl who had a lot of friends.

After informing Silas that he failed in causing Zane to stay away she said something Silas hoped not to hear. Energy, aura like electric waves. If she started to talk other nonsense he's going to leave. He stared at her with a questionable look. Even though she is tiny she has a lot of confidence in herself. Especially, asking and talking about things people normally keep to themselves.

"Maybe because I am not completely human." Silas said in all honestly. Avoiding what she said about Zane. "Hence why I don't along just anyone." He added in.

Silas glanced up at the ceiling stretching his neck. Waiting here was getting annoying. Silas wanted to get up and walk around. Mr. Drake was now messing around on his laptop without anyone noticing him doing so. From the beginning Silas didn't like this guy. Mr. Drake is only thinking of himself it seems. Silas does the same thing just like anyone else but he also consider others around him. Silas almost wanted to yell something at the scrawny teacher deciding it would be best not too in the end.

Silas took the time to look Esttin over a bit better. She was a nice girl, thoughtful and more willing to accept others. From just talking with her. Normally people don't stay near him this long. That was unless they were forced too. This is why he has taken a liking to Esttin. Not in like-like kind of way. More along the lines of becoming friends with her. That is if she can put up with him. Since it seems they were still not going anywhere Silas decided to talk more.

"So... what's are some of your favorite hobbies?" Silas asked rubbing the back of his head. He felt a little shy-like all a sudden. Maybe because he's talking more than he's use too.

Esttin frowned at Silas, the strange boy with the strange energy. She couldn’t tell if he was trying to be mysterious, or if she was just overly interested in why his energy was so different than that of other’s she had met. She figured she could ask him about it, he’d probably find her crazy, but she didn’t really care if the weird kid who seemed to want to get in a fight thought she was crazy. She noted that he had almost threatened her, saying she didn’t want to find out why he gave himself a weird nickname.

“I don’t think if drove him away, so I believe you’ve failed.” She commented, returning his smile, “Why is your energy so strange? It’s almost exotic.” She said, almost as a statement than a question, “Not exotic as in, you come from a different country, but exotic as in weird.” She tacked on, with a curious look. Her smile had faded to curiosity, and she leaned down further into her fingers, putting more weight on her arms and less on her neck. Her back slouched and her shoulders were relaxed. She looked like most teenagers do, except her hair had crept forward again.

She noticed her hair out of the corner of her eye and glared at it, willing it to return to where it should be so she didn’t have to move. It didn’t work. In fact, it seemed to do the opposite, her hair fell forward, dangling in front of her shoulder, almost mocking her. Her face fell from mildly happy to just annoyed, but it gave her an excuse to not look at the boy she had just asked a very strange question to, so she continued to glare at her hair, for just a bit longer.

Though she had never dyed her hair, it seemed as though it had highlights and low lights in it, streaks of lighter and darker blondes. She hated how that looked, because everyone wanted to know her ‘real’ hair colour. Her hair was thick, and would sometimes break hair ties as she put them in, but that didn’t bother her. You could do so much with thick hair, there was so much possibility, not that Esttin would be doing anything with it more than a hightail. She disliked the feeling of clips and hairbands, so her hair was generally uneventful, with two styles, no one really expected much from her.

Once, she had worn it up, and she hated it. It was in a clip, and curled so the rings fell down her back. She had felt pretty that morning, like she had spent all that time on her hair for compliments and she would look amazing. She did receive some compliments, but mostly people didn’t like it, and would tell her so when they saw her, asking why she changed it. This put her off changing her hairstyles, and so she stuck with the hightail when she would be doing some moving, and just down when she would mostly be sitting.

As she got distracted off her hair, she analyzed Silas’s hair. He also wore his in a tie, though it didn’t seem to want to hang in front of him all the time. He had beads in it making her think of the Native Americans, the way they had longer hair but it was always decorated, and usually in the best ways. He had bangs, not very long. She then looked at his eyes, comparing them. One was blue, and one was gold. It was a very interesting combination, she had definitely never seen anything like it before.

In fact, Esttin was jealous. Silas had won a genetic lottery, he had cool eyes, awesome hair, and she would even bet he didn’t burn horribly when in the sun. Unlike her. She had bright blonde hair, dark green eyes, and skin that would sooner burn in the sun than tan. In fact, that’s why she didn’t go into the sun more, she didn’t tan, and she would always end up with a horrible burn and feeling miserable for a few days. Of course, he had likely had issues with his eyes a lot, it was strange to see such different colours, and while Esttin thought it was cool, others might not. Maybe that was why he was so confrontational?

She decided that while this boy was strange, he was downright weird, she liked him. Unless he got into a fight, then she would find someone else to like. She wanted to get in trouble less than she wanted to die, because if she died at least her parents wouldn’t be disappointed. Deciding this, she settled in to wait for his reply, a smile having returned to her face.

The other two introduced themselves after the girl, Esttin finished announcing herself. Silas paid no attention to the other two. For they didn't catch his interest what so ever. Now Esttin seems like a fun one to get to know. Once introductions were finished Mr. Drake gave them time to visit for a bit, checking his watch every so often. Guess they got done earlier than expected. Mr. Drake's face was difficult to read. At first he seems happy, other times he seems annoyed and impatient. Most of the time though Silas couldn't make out how the guy felt. Even he tried sensing the guys emotional instincts Silas couldn't really get a reading.

Esttin taking the chance told Silas he should fight the jock now known as Zane. For he was much larger in body size and dumb. Silas knew that already. But never stopped him. Yet, hearing it from another person's view made him think on this one. Silas use to when he was younger beat up the first person who talked bad about him. It didn't help being bounced from home to home. It was stressful. And annoying.

A friendly grin came across Silas' face as he replied. "Don't worry, I only say those things to drive people away. Though there's a fifty-fifty chance my words doing just the opposite. And truthfully, I gave myself that nickname.... it suits me all to well." He began to say calmly. "You'll probably find out why I am called Ookami Akuma eventually. And let's hope you don't." Silas said quietly hoping she didn't him.

((Note: Ookami Akuma means Wolf Demon in Japanese.))
